  1. @Megawisdumb, What have you been eating? Do you keep a food diary? Do you eat processed gluten free foods? Have you tried the Autoimmune Protocol Diet? Do you eat a lot of high histamine foods? Have you been checked for vitamin and mineral deficiencies?
  2. @Ginger38, I follow the Autoimmune Protocol Diet (AIP diet). Meats and veggies mostly. The artificial construct of "breakfast foods" can go out the window. Just focus on choosing healthy foods that are nutrient dense. "Eat to live, don't live to eat." Personally, I like liver and onions for breakfast. 😸
  3. @Ericaagl, Do look into the Autoimmune Protocol Diet... Choose low histamine foods from the allowed foods. Bone broth and fermented foods are high histamine foods, so I skipped those. Histamine naturally occurs in food. Our bodies make histamine as part of the inflammation process of Celiac Disease. We want to eat low histamine foods to keep...
  4. @Marianne82, Our bodies can absorb about 300 mg of Thiamine in about three hours, so spread your doses out over the course of the day. I usually take mine at the beginning of meals. Yeah, I took a very high dose of Thiamine Hydrochloride (1500 mg) once and got a tummy ache. Taking thiamine with food helps. Sorry that happened to you. Do...
  5. Allithiamine and Thiamax can get across the blood brain barrier without help. Do try to get your Thiamine up to 500 mg at a minimum. Amazing things happen with higher doses. I read an article the other day that found the SPIKE of Covid actually binds to the Thiamine Transporters blocking Thiamine from entering cells, and causing a functional...
  6. If iceberg lettuce is causing a problem, switch to Romaine lettuce. Iceberg lettuce is mostly cellulose which can be difficult to break down. Romaine lettuce is a good source of Thiamine. Thiamine supplements will help. Thiamine works with the other seven B vitamins, so a B Complex supplement, magnesium (also works with Thiamine) and Vitamin D ...
  7. @Beverage, Our bodies can absorb about 300 mg of Thiamine in about three hours, so I try to take my Thiamine with meals or a snack. I take higher doses earlier in the day. Thiamine close to bedtime can make sleep elusive as I've so much energy and mental acuity. Sometimes in the morning, I will take more Allithiamine (200 mg) and less...
  8. @Ericaagl, Hello. I'm sorry you're having difficulties. Your symptoms are similar to what I experienced with Thiamine deficiency. In Thiamine deficiency, anorexia and loss of appetite are common. I know I would lose my appetite. If I ate carbohydrates, I gained lots of weight quickly. If I did not eat gluten and carbohydrates, I would lose...
  9. @Marianne82, Not a doctor, not diagnosing. I base this on personal experience. I had severe Thiamine deficiency that was not recognized by my doctors. Doctors see Thiamine deficiency as a result of alcoholism. Because I insisted I did not drink alcohol, they wrote me off as crazy. Thiamine deficiency can be caused by prescription medications...
  10. @Voltage, No, it's not a stupid question. It's doubtful that people walking by would contaminate your food. What sort of situation is it? Shared break room at work? Shared household?
  11. @mbrookes, Have you tried this one? Indian Head Corn Meal Old Fashioned Stone Ground White It's available at Wal-Mart and Amazon. My people used Sunflower self rising corn meal mix. Like you pointed out, it's got wheat flour. Start with the white corn meal and add gluten free flour. King Arthur is a good gluten free flour. ...
  12. @Ginger38 I've found the Autoimmune Protocol Diet very helpful in healing. The AIP diet was developed by a Celiac doctor, Dr. Sarah Ballantyne. It has been scientifically shown to promote healing in the intestines. The AIP diet removes dairy, eggs, all grains, legumes, nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant and peppers), nuts and seeds. ...
  13. @Marianne82, You're not alone! I've been through a similar journey where doctors wrote me off as crazy. My heart goes out to you. I, too, lost all family including my son, friends, and career because doctors misdiagnosed me. I was laughed at for suggesting Celiac Disease, too. Nutritional deficiencies caused by malabsorption due to Celiac Disease...
  14. While the anti-gluten antibodies have about a four month existence, the cells that produce those antibodies live for about two years. Every exposure promotes not only antibody production, but also more antibody producing cells are made from those first antibody producing cells. So count two years from a gluten exposure... Do your best to eat a healthy...
  15. I thought you might be I interested in these articles describing patients who were diagnosed with gallbladder problems, had them removed, and we're later found to have thiamine deficiency. Yes, thiamine deficiency can affect our gallbladders before our blood levels show a deficiency in Thiamine. Gastrointestinal Beriberi and Wernicke's Encephalopathy...
  16. Thiamine is needed to make testosterone. Symptoms of Thiamine deficiency include unintentional weight loss, nausea, diarrhea, and brain fog changes in thinking. The best test to see if you are low in thiamine is to take Thiamine Hydrochloride (minimum 500 mg/day) and see if you notice improvement.
  17. Thiamine can chelate heavy metals like arsenic and lead. Arsenic and other heavy metals bind to a part of the thiamine molecules and can be easily excreted from the body. This binding affinity is so great, arsenic and other heavy metals cause thiamine deficiency. Thiamine also protects against radiation. Thiamine tablets were passed out in...
  18. Hi, @SargeMaximus, Donating blood occasionally can lower iron levels if too high in males.
  19. Yes, I take high dose Thiamine and B Complex, magnesium and Vitamin D. https://thyroidpharmacist.com/articles/thiamine-and-thyroid-fatigue/
  20. @lil rory, Welcome to the forum! I had to have my gallbladder removed in emergency surgery. It didn't relieve all of my digestive symptoms either. As my symptoms worsened, I began researching. (I'm a microbiologist.) I found many of my symptoms were a result of malnutrition, Thiamine Vitamin B1 in particular. Thiamine deficiency...
  21. @Rogol72, Strangely enough, no. I've not had a DH outbreak where I applied the iodine. I've not noticed any new breakouts after.
  22. @Voltage, You have had a difficult journey! My heart goes out to you. I understand having something wrong and not being able to find a solution. I went through similar symptoms that are now called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). Symptoms include fainting and tachycardia, and anxiety in spades, too. What helped my POTS...
  23. That's what I do, too, @MiriamW! I use J. Crow's Lugol's Solution of Iodine 5% 1 oz Bottle. Since it's being absorbed through the skin into the surrounding tissues, I rub a few drops of iodine on my neck in the thyroid area.
  24. @sljak, welcome to the forum! If you had a regular soda sweetened with High Fructose Corn Syrup, you might have developed Fructose Malabsorption. This article explains fructose malabsorption well. Symptoms include gas and bloating. https://www.healthline.com/health/fructose-malabsorption Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth...
  25. Do you want to talk about it? Sometimes a bear hug makes me feel better. Just having someone acknowledge that you're going through a tough time. With a bit of encouragement. So I'm sending a bear hug.
