  1. @Arietti, Yes, I have DH and sometimes it's not symmetrical. Yes, sometimes my outbreaks are different. I've had DH blisters happen on my left leg. I sleep on my left side (for good digestion) and have woken up with a stripe of blisters down one leg. It might have been a seam down the leg in my pajamas.... DH is pressure sensitive. It...
  2. Welcome to the forum, @wayne w! Yes, it's called Costochondritis. I had it while I was deficient in Thiamine Vitamin B 1 prior to diagnosis. I've been supplementing with high dose thiamine (as Dr. Derrick Lonsdale suggested) and B Complex, magnesium and Vitamin D. Here are some articles from Dr. Lonsdale's website with Dr. Marrs https...
  3. Are any of your prescriptions sulfa drugs?
  4. @LaLeoLoca, I do wish you would reconsider the raw veggies. Grinding veggies and drinking the juice is not the same as "pre digesting" them. People who are vegetarian have lower Vitamin B12. B12 is needed to remove histamine. Histamine release is part of the inflammation response. You said "leaky gut is a big problem." Could you explain...
  5. @sandree33, It's definitely worth talking about it with your doctor. I'm hoping he will be knowledgeable about Celiac Disease. Your doctor may offer an endoscopy without a gluten challenge prior to it. Samples may be taken for confirmation testing. That way they can check out if there's anything else going on like H. Pylori infection or gastritis...
  6. Yes that one is great. I looked on the same site and found this one... https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/Life-Extension-Mega-Benfotiamine-250-mg-120-Vegetarian-Capsules/PRD7A85TQTKJAN5
  7. @SargeMaximus, I'm sorry you're having problems with your phone. On WalMart.ca do a search for NOW brand thiamine hydrochloride. You can also do a search for benfotiamine. https://www.vitamart.ca/new-roots-benfotiamine-active-vitamin-b1-150mg And... https://www.vitamart.ca/now-b-1-100mg
  8. @Sally Walker, Welcome to the forum! I get DH rash if I'm exposed to iodine in foods like crustaceans and seafood, and nori (seaweed). Even dairy has high levels of iodine. I use Pink Himalayan Salt, because I react to sea salt and iodized salt. Check your vitamins labels to see if they have added iodide components. Some prescription medications...
  9. @sandree33, My heart goes out to you. I would get too ill to complete a gluten challenge, so the doctor did a genetic test. I have two genes for Celiac Disease. With a positive DNA test and my reactions on and off gluten, the doctor made a diagnosis of Celiac Disease. You have had a DNA test. See... HLA-DBQ1 allelle 1 0201 - HLA-DBW1...
  10. Thiamine Hydrochloride "Now Foods" brand. 100 mg tablets 100 tablets $4.99 at Walmart and $9 at vitamart https://www.vitamart.ca/now-b-1-100mg Benfotiamine $19.99 https://www.vitamart.ca/new-roots-benfotiamine-active-vitamin-b1-150mg I hope you can find Benfotiamine at a store near you.
  11. I'm sorry about the price. I'm surprised you could not get the plain Thiamine Hydrochloride at a drugs store or a nutrition/sports health/health food store. I'm glad your doctor is doing more investigation. Keep us posted on the results!
  12. Can you shop online? Amazon.ca or Amazon Global?
  13. No thiamine hydrochloride is the thiamine salt. Ask your pharmacist if Benfotiamine and Thiamax can be ordered through the pharmacy.
  14. @Jenniferxgfx, I apologize if you felt bullied. That's the last thing I would want to do to anyone. I've lived through Thiamine deficiency and POTS. I'm enthusiastic about sharing what I have learned. I just want to leave these articles here for future readers. Thiamine Deficiency Causes Intracellular Potassium Wasting https...
  15. Isn't Thiamine Hydrochloride available at a pharmacy?
  16. @Jenniferxgfx, I took a multivitamin, but I still ended up deficient in Thiamine Vitamin B 1. It wasn't until I started taking high dose Thiamine that my health improved. Every cell uses Thiamine to make energy so our bodies can function properly. When we're under emotional stress, and physical stress (like fighting Covid or another infection...
  17. Get the Benfotiamine. Benfotiamine has been shown to promote healing in the intestines. 😺
  18. Any one of them or all of them. They are all Thiamine. Because Benfotiamine and Allithiamine can get into cells without going through the Thiamine transporters, you don't need to take as high a dose as Thiamine Hydrochloride. Thiamine Hydrochloride works just fine. It's what I tried first because I didn't know about the other forms. I...
  19. @Jenniferxgfx, POTS has been linked to vitamin deficiencies, B12, and especially Thiamine Vitamin B 1. Fighting an infection like Covid can deplete thiamine in the body. 20. @SargeMaximus, Here's the kind I bought...looks like the price went up... https://www.nowfoods.com/products/supplements/vitamin-b-1-100-mg-tablets Thiamine Mononitrate is not bioavailable. Thiamine Mononitrate is put into foods and vitamins because it has a long shelf life. It has a long shelf life because it doesn't react with other...
  21. @Seethefacts, If you were taking vitamins at the time you had your vitamin levels checked, your blood tests would not be accurate. Your blood tests would have picked up on the vitamins you were taking. Blood levels for vitamins are not an accurate measurement of the amount of vitamins stored inside cells. Blood levels can reflect how much of that...
  22. @SargeMaximus, Salting, smoking or curing can inactivate thiamine. So if you're eating sausages, bacon and hams, you're not getting enough thiamine. Caffeine in soda pop, coffee and black tea will also inactivate thiamine. Sweet potatoes contain thiaminase, an enzyme that breaks thiamine down so it doesn't work. If you've got Small...
