Constipation is a symptom of Thiamine Vitamin B1 deficiency. Magnesium will help because it works with thiamine, but thiamine is needed also. This article explains how thiamine deficiency effects the part of the brain that controls automatic body functions like pooping. https://www.hormonesmatter.com/sibo-ibs-constipation-thiamine-deficiency... -
Ataxia is a symptom of Thiamine Vitamin B1 deficiency. Paresthesia and neuropathy are more symptoms. Magnesium and thiamine work together, too. Thiamine works with the other seven essential B vitamins. Taking a B Complex, Vitamin D and magnesium are great ways to ensure our bodies get plenty of the building blocks needed for health.

@victoriayatesxo, Welcome to the forum! Have you been checked for all types of anemia? Anemia can cause fatigue and somnolence. I've slept through ambulances, fire trucks, tornado sirens, etc. when I've been anemic. The medication you mentioned is prescribed to people with ADHD and people with ADHD can benefit from taking extra thiamine...

Microbial transglutaminase is used in ice cream as a texture enhancer. It is technically an enzyme and part of the production process and as such is not required to be listed as an ingredient on the label. Microbial transglutaminase is used in baked goods, yogurt, ice cream, and processed foods, in both gluten free and nongluten-free foods.

Poop advice!
knitty kitty replied to Mombles's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
@Mombles, Welcome to the forum! The poop situation may be a result of fats not being properly digested. Usually the gall bladder releases bile that contains enzymes that break down fats. When it doesn't have enough Vitamin B1 Thiamine, the gall bladder doesn't make and secrete bile properly. Remember, Celiac Disease damages the small intestine... -

I'm curious about your UBO's on your MRI. Dr. H.'s article talks about ataxia and MRI changes, but doesn't mention thiamine deficiency. Thiamine deficiency can cause bright spots on MRIs. Just curious if your bright spots might be caused by thiamine deficiency as well. Vestibular signs of thiamine deficiency during the early phase of suspected... -

Terrible Neurological Symptoms

The inability to put on weight is a symptom of thiamine insufficiency. Interestingly, packing on excess fat can also be a symptom of thiamine insufficiency. Turning carbohydrates into fat when thiamine is low is the body's way of saving thiamine. The body burns fat as it's energy source when it's trying to be thrifty with low thiamine levels, too. Peripheral... -

Yes. Exercise uses a lot of Thiamine to provide energy for all that muscle movement. When thiamine starts to run short, the body switches from aerobic means of burning energy to an anaerobic means that leaves lactic acid behind. This lactic acid build up is known as "the burn" as in the catch phrase "feel the burn". Normally, resting after exercise allows... -

@Stevo, You might try the Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet scientifically shown to help healing in the digestive tract. Try eliminating cruciferous... -
