American Airlines Gluten-Free Meals- Bad Experiences?

I guess the biggest problem I have is that many time with international travel it is not possible to take your own food, as there are stricter limits on what you can and can't carry through security. It's really hard with kids. I'd be happy eating almonds and fruit. Although in some countries they will not let you leave with fruit. But anyway, half a day... -
