  1. I have four autoimmune diseases plus ataxia. My guess is you have a non-celiac response to gluten. Has the gout subsided? Any neurological symptoms? Depending on where you are located, you need a major medical center. I am in Omaha, and our UNMC docs have really rescued me. There are great places at Mayo, in Houston and Cleveland. Blessings.
  2. “Preserved billows architecture” and minimal inflammation probably means you are not celiac. Not a doc, but that looks good to me.
  3. My neurologist recommended Align. Very happy with it.
  4. I have it. Started falling in May of 2021. My docs, after much testing and some other treatment attempts, put me on a large dosage of slow magnesium. No falls since then. I still have tremors, but much less intense.
  5. Two things. Autoimmune diseases tend to cluster. I started with hypothyroidism, then celiac disease, then RA, then gout, then gluten ataxia. I agree magnesium is a key. I was falling from ataxia last year until I got my magnesium addressed. But have your docs check all your levels and adjust. And I agree that a comprehensive vitamin cocktail will help as...
  6. Never an issue for me. And I am super sensitive. At least for their bread and bagels. Is it possible you have another food allergy?
  7. All wines, unless flavored with something, are gluten-free.
  8. My biggest symptom when I get glutened is a nasty cough for 10-20 minutes. Are you sure she is not getting glutened.
  9. You will get better. It takes time, diligence and patience. I was diagnosed almost 9 years ago. Things do get better. Still issues (life is never perfect or easy), but recent second endoscopy showed I am almost 100% healed. Hang in there.
  10. Thanks. Just got some and going to try it. Just had an endoscopy, and it showed I have largely healed. But I get cross-contaminated often when I eat out. If this helps, I will be happy.
  11. Sounds like celiac (at minimum) to me. Have you had an endoscopy? If not, get one. Blessings.
  12. I am up to four autoimmune diseases plus Ataxia. Started with hypothroidism 30 years ago. Diagnosed with celiac 8 years ago, then gout, and rheumatoid arthritis. These diseases tend to cluster. From your systems, I would have them check your thyroid. If you have any balance issues, check your D3 and magnesium. Hang in there. Blessings.
  13. Have your doc check your Vitamin D and Magnesium levels. My Celiac elevated to Ataxia, with muscle tremors and falls. But it can be treated.
  14. Yes. Could be gluten ataxia. I have tremors. Got so bad, I started falling. Get your magnesium levels checked. Supplements have gotten my issues under control. Good luck.
  15. This is stupid. The nuns at Clyde, Missouri make gluten safe hosts. 17 ppm. Well under the 20 ppm threshold. I consume them safely here in Omaha every week.
  16. When I get glutened, I cough. Loud. for 20-30 minutes. Once people hear that, they take it seriously. Refer your son to the newbie thread. If he still doesn't get it, kick him in the posterior. Hard!
  17. I have not tried Schar's, but the other national brands are all bad to horrible. Find a local gluten-free bakery if you can. Or try Omaha's bakery, Stick and Stone. They ship nationally, and have a wide variety of products, including at least a dozen breads, cookies, three kinds of crackers, pizza dough, cinnamon rolls and much more. Their products changed...
  18. I also had it in a North Houston, in Humble. Not bad. Not great, but a lot better than the Udi's buns so many chains use.
  19. The nuns from the Convent in Clyde, Missouri make a low gluten host (17 ppm) that is used here in Omaha. If low gluten hosts are not available, I simply take the cup. Gluten is called for by canon law (because Christ used wheat bread of some sort), as is wine, which was also used at the Last Supper.
  20. Severe coughing and brain fog, within 20 minutes. Usually lasts for an hour or two.
