The tortilla for sure...you know girl it sucks .. So yeah some reason tortillas are not always gluten free.. I called taco bueno just to see about their corn shells. The guy was like no... why would they have flour in them.( like i was dumb for asking) so i was like just go look for me please..yeah who is the dumb_____ now lol. He came back and was like "mam im sssorry i guess they do have flour"
Ok, had a brain fart this morn and decided to get something off a roach coach. I know dumb move.I had a corn tortilla with barbacoa, cilantro, shredded mozarella, about 2 tablespoons of that and about the same amount of chopped up white onion. Went down good, I thought I had done ok, but nope.
Within and hour, it was coming out both ends.
Could it have been the grease? Pepper maybe, onion, cilantro or the mozarella? But then again, hell, more than likely everything.
I guess no more roach coach.

Hey all
Anyone ever heard of amoxicillin helping this condition. My 3 yr old is being tested again as she has it and reglin makes her sick but when she throws up it has food in it from app 15 hrs before...... They are going to retest to see if her emptying has gotten worse and he mentioned that they now say this helps....... just wondering before I put her on an antibodic every day.....
Thanks
Dr.s... jeesh never heard of amoxicillian working for this. Reglan did nothing for me still was getting sick. Somebody did mention to me to try vitamin b12 and vitamin k ask the dr. about it. There are shots that your lil girl can have if she has a really bad attack if b12 is something that will help.
Good luck

Hello- I am new to this site so thank you for your patience with me-I wil try to keep it brief.
I need help for my son. He is 14, has autism and has been Gluten-free Casein-free for 9 yrs and off soy and corn as well for 6 yrs. He has ongoing battles with candida. Until now, he has not been diagnosed celiac . . .
the new issue is this: he began vomitting in Oct and it is still happening. it started as once a week, has been as frequent as 2-3 times a week and as "infrequent" as every 3 weeks.
He had an upper endoscopy when it started that showed acid inflammation in stomach and s.i. and "blunt villi"--indicative of celiac but he's been gluten fre for 9 years !
I have kept a food, behavior, etc log and cannot find a pattern.
the dr wanted to do Prevacid and rescope but I feel like that isn't addressing the root problem-
I've heard of other celiacs needing to be off other grains-not just gluten
Any suggestions or direction would be appreciated.
I just want him to feel better~ thanks!
If he has not been tested for gastropersis have him tested. They will do gastric emptying scan. He can do it without the bread they do a liquid and solid test. Knowing is all it takes. Ive been sick for years off gluten and found out later the damage of being misdiagnosed so many years caused gastropersois look it up on internet and research.

Hi my almost 3 yr old has been gluten free since May 08 and she is still not gaining weight and she is on a feeding tube. I am concerned for her and no one has been able to find anything else wrong with her. She was diagnosed when she had not been eating anything for a month or more and ended up in the hospital for 1 month trying to figure out what was going on......
I try so hard to keep any gluten out of her diet and she is eating small amounts of food and gets pediasure in her feeding tube at night.....
Any adivce or if anyone has been in similar situation please let me know. She goes back to the GI dr this friday and I have lots of questions for her...
after being gluten free for almost two years I still had not gained any weight. Has she been tested for gastroperisis. I was diagnosed later and its been almost 5 years now in the last year i have just now started to put on weight. I am 32 and was diagnosed when i was around 25. I was sick since i was little. Not being diagnosed correctly for years damaged my small intestines thats where the gastroperisis comes in. Do research on the internet see if it hits home... Good luck

I work in a restraunt and i am very sensitive as well. The kitchen guys laugh at me because im so crazy about contamination. But its real some take it better than others. When i meet someone who says yeah im not that sensitive i do feel like ahhhh..wish i wasnt. I dont get as sick as i used to but cross contamination does effect me.I have been wheat and gluten free for almost 5 years now. I also have or should say had high anxiety problems. It used to get me sick and trigger my gastropersis. It does seem as if since controling my celiac better i have not gotten sick as much.My anxiety is much more chill. Before i could not even travel to see my family now its okay....
I was thinking it would be nice to have a thread where we can kick ideas around that work for us, as well as share our frustrations with others who understand. My original thread on the subject was inadvertantly lost, but there was so much interest that I'd like to try again.
After being gluten-free for a good three and a half years, I find myself just as sensitive--if not more--than I was when I started. My reactions have gotten less severe, but they tend to drag on a lot longer. One thing that has improved greatly is the anxiety. Before I was diagnosed, I had full on panic attacks. I've not had a panic attack since going on the diet, and the near-crippling anxiety is all but gone after taking about 18 months to begin to improve.
I still can't tolerate things made on shared equipment with gluten, and so many of the products that are tolerated well by other Celiacs cause me to react. I had a real problem dealing with this for a long time, obsessing on trying to figure out "why?".
I think I have finally arrived at a place where I accept things the way they are--that this is me. I do wonder sometimes if it is because of the years I was ill and continued to eat gluten because no one knew what was wrong. Could be, I'll never really know.

Hello i have been gluten free since 2005 . For me i really feel like i get headaches when i may have been glutened. I work in a restraunt they are good at not glutennig me but when i eat from the grill which is contaminated a little bit i get headaches. I really was whatching it and that was the conclusion.. Its always the same kind of headache too. I am just now in the last 6 months starting to put weight on it takes your body quite awhile to adjust. Good luck

I had been sick for years since i was 7 and am now 32. We always were being tested for anxiety ridiculous.... So i did some research and came across celiac. Its been almost 5 years since going wheat and gluten free. I was still getting sick sometimes by not even being glutened long story short a dr. when i was 25 was on the right track he did gasrtic emptying but never went beyond. So i researched and again and was totally shocked and angered of course no dr.s had realized i aquired gastrperisis along my way of being poisined by wheat and gluten. I just now in the last 4 months have started to put on weight. Wow this is what eating without being sick is like...My best advice research then ask your dr.s I paid all these dr.s all to diagnose myself in the end.. It was funny to see the oops were sorry look from the Dr.s after all the convincing put forth..

I had been sick since I can remember...very very sick since 7. I am now 30. This celiac is still so new... I was told by a dr. not mine to stop eating wheat for a month I would notice a difference almost immedietly. I did. All of my test have come back negative.....Guess what this is the only thing that has worked in 4 years...I have given up on dr.s.This whole time my whole life I was allergic to wheat. It is a hard disease but the more you know and learn the better life will be.

I was sick since 7 and am now 30.....Stomach problems my whole life.I am a very happy go lucky type person so you can imagine the shock and dissapointment when Dr.s say you have anxiety and make myself sick. Yes the diet is hard but it is the only thing that has worked in three years.I feel better and do not get sick unless I eat wheat. In research I found that the wheat allergy is more stomach like symptoms. Gluten tends to be more of a IBS symptoms. I get very sick with nausae and vomitting for at least 3 days it is awful.I have hot and cold sweats like crazy..... I am Italian and food is my passion 4years ago I had a catering business. Needless to say my life changed for the better. I will stil pursue my passion in food with wheat and gluten free products...Shoot honey you need food ideas let me know..
I struggled for a long time with stomach problems, pain, cramps, nausea, gas, alternating C and D, feeling miserable. I was diagnosed with IBS (of course) and put on a low dose anti-depressant (Lexapro). After a few weeks it actually helped. But I still have (and this is kind of embarassing), really bad gas and still some lingering stomach issues. When I say really bad gas, I mean actual gas, way more than a normal person should have, gas pains and it's humiliating because it could literally run someone out of a room. AWFUL! I can't be digesting food normally. I've been reading these mosts for months but have never put one up myself. My dr. brushed off Celiac. He told me I could try going gluten-free but said "it's just really tough to do that diet". And I love my dr. but I'm wondering if with the gas and lingering, albeit mild, stomach problems if it's celiac disease but the major symptoms are being masked by the anti-depressant.I know these questions of IBS vs Celiac get asked a lot but I'm just not sure what to do. Should I bypass my dr. and go straight to a GI and ask for the blood test? I could just go gluten-free and stop taking the Lexapro but I know without a real diagnosis from a dr. then I probably won't stick to it like I should or get as much support (I'm afraid anyway).
Any help or thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I agree the Betty Hagman cookbooks have been very helpful.I I use the comfort foods and a wheat and gluten free revised additon.

I had been sick since seven with vomitting hot cold sweats for days I am now 30. Someone a Dr. I was working for had seen me sick and suggested i stop eating wheat .I noticed a difference immedietly. At the time no one Dr. suggested that the test would come back negative when not eating wheat. I have never felt better and Dr.s still want to argue that I do not have celiac. This is the only thing in 20 years at least that has helped. Im gonna tell you it is a hard transition. If you are still getting sick there is something you are still using that has wheat or gluten in it. Remember read everything you touch or consume down to your cosmetics, shampoos ,lotions, its crazy....If you are feeling better stick to it. I have been gluten and wheat free for 3 years now. It does get better. Good luck
HelloI have been eating wheat free for over 7 months. I feel a whole lot better not eating it. I get sick to my stomach and awful cramps followed by diarehha. I also get a migraine.
I choose to eat this way because I feel better. There are days that I still have attacks and had not eaten any wheat. I brought this up to my doctor and he brought up celiac. The problem he said I have to start eating wheat for the tests to be accurate. This is something I will not do to my self.
I talked about treatment being dietary why can't I just change the way I eat and not get an official diagnoses. Is this Possible??
I have since been eating gluten free. And I haven't had an attack.
In my past I have been diagnosed with Gurd IBS spastic colon and others. None of these diagnoses have taken care of the problem. I have taken medicines and made dietary changes. Still had attacks.
I am hopeful at the prospect that this treatment will help me. I am just not sure how important an official diagnoses is?
Thank you All
Jyn

I do not pre cook my noodles as well and cook it longer...Lasagna turns out awesome.
-
I agree yes I think it does take us longer. I seriously have avoided people with the flu at work like crazy. They do not realize once I get sick I stay sick for a while. My symptoms from wheat are throwing up for days and sweats as is. For some reason anything that makes me sick end in a bad result that last longer than it should.
-
Im gonna say it depends on how sensitive you are. I have been sick since I was 7. I am now 30 and 3 years gluten free. Recently I was helping my neighbor bake and we were useing flour. I got very sick the next day..I was kinda shocked but I will definitly play it safe always. All my products I use such as shampoos, perfumes lotions have to be wheat free. I am very sensitive.

The brand name would be awesome. I love donuts and have tried making my own and even tried kinniniki but they just dont do the trick.
