Mozerella sticks
tessa25 replied to Jherm21's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Make batter with 1 egg, 1/2 cup gluten-free flour, 1/2 to 1 tsp salt and enough water to make it look like thick batter. Buy a block of whole milk mozzarella cheese and cut it into strips. Dip in batter and fry. -
Kraft velveeta
tessa25 replied to Jherm21's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
A quick google search says that Velveeta is gluten free. -
Initially it's good to stick with meat, veggies, potatoes, eggs, stews, etc. But if you just have to eat something different here's my list of good tasting gluten-free equivalents. Note: insert the words "gluten free" in every item mentioned as some of the companies also sell non gluten free stuff. It's tedious to write that phrase all the time...

Worried Mom having an emotional night

I'm so sorry, but I think online testing services require the person to be 18 years old. So my info is useless to you. -
Gluten Free Pills
tessa25 replied to Emily1975's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't know about those pills, but Canyon Bakehouse makes fantastic gluten-free bagels. For pizza you can always learn how to make it. I've learned that a proper NY pizza uses Escalon 6 in 1 ground tomatoes (not cooked) with a pinch of sugar if it tastes bitter at all. Then add Grande shredded mozarella for the cheese. The crust can be Udis(thin), Schar... -
Worried Mom having an emotional night
tessa25 replied to Aries74's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Since we're talking about online testing and I'm doing it regularly to monitor my healing, here's what I know: The full celiac panel includes: TTG IGA TTG IGG DGP IGA DGP IGG EMA IGA You can either have a gastroenterologist order the full celiac panel plus whatever else they typically test for, or you can order your own test at a... -
I don't know what the rules are for diabetes. So my food suggestions could be useless, but here goes. Here's what I found out regarding gluten-free food equivalents: Note: insert the words "gluten free" in every item mentioned as some of the companies also sell non gluten free stuff. It's tedious to write that phrase all the time. Get a chest...

I wouldn't ask for $100. You can bring your own pasta dish that looks similar to the others. You can let the venue know you'll be doing it to avoid a hassle.

Blood test numbers move around. If it's normal you should be good. I'm not a doc though.

Celiac or not?
tessa25 replied to Lizzielou's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Genetic testing isn't 100%. And many people with celiac only test positive on one of the blood tests. So you can still have celiac. -
Celiac or not?
tessa25 replied to Lizzielou's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Have you had the full Celiac panel done? The full celiac panel includes: TTG IGA TTG IGG DGP IGA DGP IGG EMA IGA You have to be eating gluten daily for 12 weeks before the blood test. A positive on any one blood test along with your villous atrophy confirms a celiac diagnosis. -
How Long Does The Vomiting Last?
tessa25 replied to coquimama's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I would try homemade chicken broth if you know how to make it. You can also try plain tater tots (Simple Truth at King Soopers/Kroger). If Those stay down you can try putting some butter and Land O'Lakes white american cheese in the broth. When it dissolves it makes the broth taste much better. Then try some chicken thighs baked with just salt. Small amounts...- 24 replies

My world of confusion
tessa25 replied to Galixie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You could get the full celiac blood test done then go 100% strict gluten free for 3 months and repeat the full blood test panel. If you have celiac your high numbers should go down a bit over that three months. The full celiac panel includes: TTG IGA TTG IGG DGP IGA DGP IGG EMA IGA You have to be eating gluten daily for 12 weeks before... -
You can always do the complete celiac blood test and see what your levels are. Maybe you're getting trace amounts of gluten without knowing it.

Here's my spiel on celiac testing. I'm assuming you've only had one of the tests so far. The full celiac panel includes: TTG IGA TTG IGG DGP IGA DGP IGG EMA IGA You can either have a new gastroenterologist order the full celiac panel plus whatever else they typically test for, or you can order your own test at a site like walkinlab...

Endoscopy today confirmed Celiac
tessa25 replied to MommaRN's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
It is my understanding that once children go 100% gluten-free they bounce back fairly quickly. But I am not a doctor.
