Would need the test name and ranges to know what the 57 means. If it's the standard TTG IGA test and the normal range is less than 20, that's pretty high. You have to keep eating glutenuntil after the endoscopy so enjoy eating your favorite foods while you can. I'll give you my current junk food list to help you get started on gluten free. So here...

Celiac after baby?
tessa25 replied to jed84's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It can't hurt to get tested for celiac. The first step is just a blood test. I would do the full celiac panel so there is no questioning the results. The full celiac panel includes: TTG IGA TTG IGG DGP IGA DGP IGG EMA IGA You have to be eating gluten daily for 12 weeks before the blood test. A positive on any one blood test should...- 1 reply

I'd try soups, stews and cooked zucchini for a couple of weeks to see if that helps settle things down. If you listed a typical days food perhaps some here could help you make slight changes to eliminate irritating foods.

What do the results mean?
tessa25 replied to Noturaverageblonde1's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Because you have symptoms you should probably get the full celiac panel. The full celiac panel is: TTG IGA TTG IGG DGP IGA DGP IGG IGA EMA You have to be eating gluten until all celiac testing is done. A positive on any one celiac blood test should result in a gastroenterologist doing in an endoscopy/biopsies. It... -
Do I have celiac disease??
tessa25 replied to Keeley's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, that would be a positive for celiac. Like your doctor said the next step would be to get an endoscopy/biopsies. You need to keep eating gluten until the testing is done or you can get a false negative. Even if the endoscopy came out negative somehow, I'd go gluten-free after the testing is done. Once you go gluten-free your blood test numbers... -
Do I have celiac disease??
tessa25 replied to Keeley's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Is the kU/L 0-14.9 on the same line? If so maybe your normal range is 0 - 14.9. -
As long as your blood test numbers keep going down your doing well. If they are not going down yet you could try a Fasano diet and monitor things yourself by ordering your own blood tests. Your insurance doesn't cover the cost of ordering your own blood tests though. If you're interested in details on how to order your own blood test just let me know. It...

You failed three celiac tests with flying colors assuming normal is < 20. Indicated you have celiac (in my opinion) means you have celiac. A high on anyone celiac test should mean you go to a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy/biopsies to confirm the celiac diagnosis and see how bad the damage is. You should keep eating gluten until the endoscopy...

Umm, well, I think we can safely say you have celiac with those numbers. You are supposed to keep eating gluten until the endoscopy, if you choose to get one. Once you go 100% gluten free, no mess ups, those numbers should come down. After a while it'll be easy peasy. Note: I'm assuming the normal range for those numbers is less than...

His TTG IGG and DGP IGG are both very high. I think it would imply he's not gluten free enough. I've read that children should recover quickly once going 100% gluten free compared to adults. I'm sure the others here will give you some great ideas on how to make sure he's gluten free from now on. It's not easy.

Help Interpreting Celiac Test
tessa25 replied to KTD16's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
A high on any one celiac test should lead to a gastroenterologist doing an endoscopy /biopsies to confirm celiac. You have to eat gluten every day until the endoscopy has been done or you could get a false negative. Good luck! -
You could get a Nima sensor and go nuts testing the food she typically eats. It's possible she's getting cross contamination even though you think you're being super careful. Or maybe she's getting gluten at a friends house. If your house isn't 100% gluten-free there could still be a problem there that you that you missed. It's got to be hard to know if...

Bloodwork quetion
tessa25 replied to IrishTwins2009's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
TTG IGA stands for tissue transglutimase IGA not Total IGA. Just to avoid misunderstandings. I believe a weak high with TTG IGA could be caused by other conditions. But even a weak high should lead to a gastroenterologist doing an endoscopy/biopsies to check for celiac. A number that is above zero but not high is normal. -
Bloodwork quetion
tessa25 replied to IrishTwins2009's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The tests for celiac are: TTG IGA TTG IGG DGP IGA DGP IGG EMA IGA Of the tests in the above list the only one that doesn't actually test for celiac is IGA. IGA is used to tell you if you have enough antibodies to make a negative on the TTG IGA and the DGP IGA tests valid. Perhaps he should get the full celiac panel... -
Low IgA, dr won’t test IgG
tessa25 replied to Runningyogi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Low IGA can cause TTG IGA and DGP IGA celiac tests to show a false negative. Welcome to the forum! -
Trouble Interpretting Celiac Panel
tessa25 replied to Amandaspesh's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Can you post the ranges for each test? The numbers have no meaning without the ranges. -
What do YOU consider "gluten free"
tessa25 replied to MOOO's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You made the correct decision. I only eat food that's cooked in my house because I am having trouble getting my numbers down as well. When invited to somebody else's house I usually ask them what they're serving and then I make an equivalent for myself at home and bring it. That way I'm eating the same thing as everybody else. My friends love having me over...
