  1. Hmm you have a lot of similarities I was told my GI issues were stress Then in my 20s I was labeled IBS Spent many years in my 20s with in addition to my IBS, few bouts of gastroenteritis, the time I doubled over from milk a clinic sent me to er thinking appendix. By my 30s they were giving me colonscopies because of relatives. I could...
  2. I blended my food the first weeks after my gluten challenge. As my body had problems on many levels digesting foods. I liquified whole foods veggies into soups and fruits into smoothies adding nut butters or as my proteins. Those without as many I tolerances as me can do protein powders . I found I was damaged and in pain, yet still hungry. I focused...
  3. "That four week challenge was the worst month of my life. I kid you not. I felt almost suicidal." Indeed. Amazing you finished 4 weeks. I cried and said before attempting I didn't think I could finish a 2 week challenge. I attempted and had all of my gi symptoms, brain fog, neuropathy etc.I had to pull over often for nausea and bowel then stopped...
  4. My children's Dr chose not to test them despite my request. We were told I needed an entirely gluten-free household for me to avoid cc ( which I told their Dr when I was undergoing my pending 6 months from my initial consult to my scopes. ) We knew it was likely my testing required us to remove gluten entirely after my testing finished. She said she wouldn...
  5. I was misdiagnosed IBS for decades based on symptoms only. That diagnosis tends to stick or the it's psychological gets thrown in. I was missed many times despite visiting general Dr, allergist/immunologist s, dermatologists over the years etc . I even had colonscopies but no endoscope. The biggest miss was probably in 2004 I was covered in PUPPP...
  6. I use almond or coconut with minimal additives or homemade. After diagnosis I would get bad joint and muscle pain/ inflammation likely tied to my mast cells reacting if I had cow milk or cow milk based products. My husband and son also have cow milk issues and they can do sheep or goat cheese. Good luck I hope you find comfort soon
  7. To keep our home gluten-free my husband and children keep gluten-free breads on hand. As for myself I make my own baked goods (they eat them sometimes too) . I use Anthony's products and the premix I was able to add into my diet in 2019 was Pamela's all purpose baking product. I have problems with gluten-free breads due to the following variables corn...
  8. Elie, I had previous Dr's including allergist,gi, and dermatologist miss me for decades. The allergist that finally helped me saw my reaction to IgE testing and sent me to the allergist/ immunologist that trained her. She realized it was not IgE mediated, but she did not have the testing I needed so that's why she sent me to her former teacher . That...
  9. Thank you DC, posterboy, and knitty kitty. I will look into supporting the adrenals more. I did take an adrenal support supplement in my nutritional regime. It went bad after an accupucture session in August, I felt my immune sytem crashed, I got a virus at work that really messed me up. The dysautonomia came back with a vengence. So it requires more...
  10. This is great news to help that (90 %)!!!!! Still too many unsuspecting people some of which are symptomatic but not textbook. So many of the 90% don't experience the misdiagnosis' and tag along illness some of us have on this path to health and healing.
  11. Thank you knitty kitty and posterboy. I do take my multi that has it in it. I may have to look for a liquid form. thank you for reaching out I very much want to find some stability as I am working now and need to be a good wife, mom, and employee. Edit checked the multi the thiamin is in it. I may have to supplement iron based on the info you shared...
  12. We mostly do our own immediate family thing for holiday meals. Christmas time is different. My spouse's family know I prefer to go before dinner, while most are having appetizers and drinks. They have learned to flip their night for us. I never asked them to. They even reminded me of the time as they want us to stop by this year. They are tolerant to...
  13. Good luck Ennis. Sorry to hear something is tripping you up. Hope you find the culprit and are on the road to symptom free soon.
  14. My apologizes on my delay getting back to you. I erroneously did not flag the thread for follow up. my symptom is typically light headeness with some brain fog and coat hanger and back of head pain. I would not say I get dizzy I did get that in my early 20's so I know the difference, but dizzy is not currently the adjective I would use. I get lightheaded...
  15. Thanks for catching that RMJ . I should have made that clear.
  16. Suggestion: can you contact your insurance company and find a new list of potential doctors? I wish you luck this sounds very stressful. As other mentioned a Dr this adverse to treating you for whatever reason is probably doing you both a favor. It is hard to see that some times when going through it. Bare with me on the long story: One of...
  17. I am sorry you are struggling at this time. Have you found links like these in your research? https://www.verywellmind.com/gluten-and-bipolar-disorder-is-there-a-connection-562958 In past forum readings over the years I read many celiacs / NCGS report they or family members are diagnosed with mental health conditions or symptoms of their undiagnosed...
  18. I am sorry for your negative experience Mr. Howe. Beyond frustrating . May you newlyweds have this negative experience fade as much as possible, and be replaced by more wonderful memories together. best wishes
  19. Great piece perhaps others will be caught sooner. Many of us have a history of being missed while visiting seeing the exact branch of medicine who should know. They don't. I hope more can be educated instead of sending people home with a cream and directions to use gentle soap.
  20. I'm glad I am not alone best wishes to you. More details for potential future viewers: I started monitoring my blood pressure and heart rate this weekend and will do so this week (off work a few days). It is too hard to do at work. I am trying to figure out if is it blood pressure falling ( hypotension) or POTS symptoms/orthostatic. I read...
  21. Heck yes, nausea at nauseum! During my gluten challenge I had to pull over just transporting it home in my car to "poision" myself with it. Open the door and lean out worst resort.... I failed at a 12 week challenge, the two week too for that matter! I still can get nauseous If I go to the bank atm and burger king next door is pumping out...
  22. Wonderful news on the healing Ennis! What a wonderful thing for you. Other than the immediate family it will be quiet here on Thanksgiving. It was challenging the past few years (at first to accept), but I learned to embrace it. I do hope you have a few guests for dessert perhaps, or a peaceful evening of good health, all your own, to your well...
  23. Wow Ennis the photo looks delicious! I haven't had lasagna in 7 years. I might give this a go sometime. Thanks for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving
  24. My comment is what kind or type of alcohol was he drinking. Was he possibly cc? I realize he refused to eat because of the celiac, but as I learned on the forums here most celiac people drinking at a public establishment note an inherent risk of cc. Was Mr. Quaye knowledgeable about this?
  25. Anyone willing to share their tag along autonomic dysfunction ? While I got the diet down and am now educated on this lifestyle. I do have challenges, frustrations, and fears about the autonomic issues. Success stories? Management which yields hope? Wisdom? From other members? I wanted to share the following link as this is something I have now...
