  1. Yikes. The thing someone like myself with a bio degree often thinks about as I am going twilight before scope. Is it autoclave standard clean? Probably can't go in autoclave .....? Fade to twilight.... Glad someone is checking and getting data, but I agree with Celiac mom -not acceptable.
  2. Late to the post. My 2 cents. A celiac no longer a celiac? Sigh. I have no documented villi damage either, Can t finish my g challenge, have a lifetime of celiac symptoms, a gold standard cousin, and have several patches of DH tonight from skin exposure Friday. My chart finally says NCGS they misdiagnosed me for decades despite numerous opportunities...
  3. Just giving my 2 cents I know I am late to the post , but maybe it can help someone in the future. In the past several decades, I had 2 Dr's diagnose me with asthma on symptoms only and prescribe inhalers. They never seemed to help and I didn't use them. ? During my gluten challenge, another IgE allergy testing(most current), and food intolerance s...
  4. Hi excellent advice above from all. I had stabbing pains and initially many of my organs felt inflamed too big for my body cavity. I swore days I walked faster than my body allowed my spleen hurt. I agree it's early and that gi tract is still inflamed and need to heal. I had 13 food intolerance s in addition to celiac. Now I am at 3. You may find pureeing...
  5. Happy Holiday to one and all. Best Wishes . AWOL
  6. As stated if this is true it is sad. The 6 months prior white bread fish diet could have begun the impairment of CG's mental cognition and mood. Misdiagnosis, desperation, and paranoia may have led to the soy cleanse as she may not have been able to think with clarity about undertaking this drastic cleanse. Sad she slipped through the cracks. Many in our...
  7. "Keep in mind that a newly diagnosed celiac does go through a grieving process. " "Oh hell, a haven't had a Guinness in well over a decade, and I still make a sad face and wave very time I see one pass by." Thanks for the laugh. Thank you for admitting this I get this way with Deep dish Chicago style pizza- and although I have found some vegan...
  8. Aries74, The knowledgeable members have given you all the details one could hope for, so all I can add is I wish you strength and speedy clarity during this trying time for your son. I wish you and your son well on this path. May all be reveal ASAP, so he can be on his way to health and healing. Your both in my thoughts. Best wishes
  9. Thanks Cycling lady and Ennis. I got a TB test 5 weeks ago in order to return to employment and had a bad reaction no idea to what ingredient. I went from bad to worse and wondered how I would report for my first day. I am now wondering if that kind of set it off for me. As I had to see the TCM/Chiropractor to stop my reaction to the TB test, who enabled...
  10. I also have issues with corn maltodextrin. I have an intolerance to corn derivatives. It rips up my gi esophagus , intestines, rashes, joint, muscle pain etc., but not an IgE mediated allergy for me. I usually assume OTC and Pharmas are corn based unless told otherwise. Most manufactured pharma use corn derived excipients these days. I would ask to speak...
  11. Yes, I spent many years from age 11 on up, light headed and dizzy not knowing it was Celiac. I get dizzy/lightheaded from eating full on gluten,(among other symptoms) cc, and environmentally when I have been damaged and my gut is a mess and my immune system is in full on attack mode. During healing I only went to stores without a bakery on premise. My husband...
  12. Ennis, Thanks for the update in the blog. Glad to hear you are feeling better and more solid. I hope that continues for you. I was intrigued to hear about the new cheese and cocoa ideas you are developing as well. Happy Holidays!
  13. I am glad Lillian 's family realized the environmental and processing of wheat so near her home hindered her healing and relocated. I am certain that was not easy, but truly shows the parents' love, dedication, and unwavering support for their daughter .
  14. Glad to hear others had good experiences. I researched before and went to a restaurant with gluten-free and allergy options. On our trip in 2016 we were not given the option to have the chef take our orders and personally deliver them. Upon inquiry , we were given a special menu, told to go in a specific regular line with a paddle sign that designated we...
  15. Hi I use to work in the paint and covering retail industry 20 years ago. Many old wall papers and pastes were applied with wheat paste. That was more prevalent in the 1970s, but retailers carry wheat paste for special non pasted wall papers if I recall many grasscloth wall papers needed wheat paste. Not sure how old your home is. If it is older it i...
  16. I had weird dreams too. I had cc dreams and watching my symptoms and pain as 3rd person. I had dreams I was hiding my favorite missed gluten foods in my sock drawer of my bedroom nightstand and my family would bust me opening it and tell me honey / mom you are celiac you can't eat that and I would cry. I woke up one day realizing the feelings were so real...
  17. Her posting does set us back as Kit points out.? Many of us have additional intolerances so even if the gluten-free bread was available we couldn't eat it. She sounds as if she was told by an earlier phone call by bread was not available. I'm not sure how more upfront they could be. While all of us do understand her frustration her behavior does reflect...
  18. I looked to see if this was already answered but didn't see it. After 2 years of taking it light with walking and just light weights letting the body be my guide. My joints and fatigue during recovery led my exercise for two years. I started to return to gym and my former modified gym routine. Frustratingly triggered neuropathy in my feet and fatigue. I was...
  19. Nice to have a list. It reaffirms what I have personally found to be helpful. I drank tons of water and did Epsom salt baths for years having been misdiagnosed. Now knowing I still use drink tons of water, Epsom salt baths, get to accupuncturist asap, ginger tea, dandelion tea, water keifer. I also find helpful. I really hope to avoid this cc exposure for...
  20. Karen P I am sorry to hear the pain and isolation you feel at your mother's treatment of you. I wish for better. One of the people in life we should be able to count on to be in our corner is mom. It always hurts when we find when she is not regardless of reason. The kicker is this is genetic she denies you got it from her or biological dad. Ouch ! ...
  21. It's all joke for some until someone or someone they love has this condition. Society is uneducated about celiac, auto immune diseases, and allergies in general. They will get there, I am not sure when, but it certainly is necessary. Many are just under educated about this topic, but this caller is either a "troll" or a cruel individual. Not funny...
  22. Thank you for the article and posters comments all helpful. I humbly learned from the veterans here I seek for advice and from personal experience, It is best for me not to eat in restaurants. Yes even one owned by a gluten intolerant owner I got cc at. Apparently, he was not there the time I came in so my call ahead was null and void. The staff seemed confident...
  23. As others pointed out above hone in on the vitamin/nutrition and other possible intolerances. I became aware of gluten intolerance prior to my diagnosis, but after my challenge I had several intolerances. I can not have gluten, corn, or milk my immune system will just not tolerate it. I had 13 intolerances at one point I am down to 3 now. My immune system...
  24. Not surprised. My gi naturally after my gluten challenge could not handle food. My digestion was impaired amongst many other symptoms. I would blend and purée foods anti inflammatory food combos for weeks. I remember my celiac cousin asked one day what did you eat today ? early in recovery, I replied a peach and tons of water. I still remember months ...
  25. Agreed by my own personal experience. It is one of many symptoms I am glad resolve with GFD, that can come back with if cc sneaks/slips in gluten-free diet. I have spent many hours and many sleepless nights due to gluten neuropathy as many other readers attest to as well.
