"Gluten sensitive? Order a regular pizza because the scientists that originally reported gluten sensitivity say it never existed. But if you’re trying to cut carbs or dealing with Celiac disease they have gluten free crust, too. " So welcoming what marketing genius thought to hire this writer to attract the gluten-free crowd?

Oh my! Glad JMG told you I also get funky eye pain it has been a year. I get a migraine throbbing like eye pain and then sometimes a more achy pressure like pain I believe is inflammation. It comes and goes this past 14 mos post challenge. So I concur it can come and go even if you are strictly gluten-free. I hope it is less prevalent once... -
Gluten Challenge
Awol cast iron stomach replied to Zoso123's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would believe the first test positive is positive Are you doing the challenge for gi endoscope ? is the Dr unwilling to diagnose based on the blood test alone? if you have a DH flare (look up a thread on the forum here -I personally would see if they will diagnose based on blood test and potential DH biopsy and scope to see damage... -

Admin, Thanks for posting the connection of IC to Celiac. My earliest symptoms of IC are from the age of 5. I begged to go to Dr. What 5 year old does that! I learned to accept then grew up to find out it is called IC and related to my gi lifetime problems celiac/ NCGS. Now I know I have had this & celiac a long time. Gluten and corn...

"The parents of a girl with a dairy allergy ordered a vegan milkshake and confirmed with store employees that the milkshake contained absolutely no dairy. When the child began to drink the shake, she experienced an almost immediate allergic reaction that required emergency room treatment. An investigation followed and found that while the shake itself...

Awol cast iron stomach replied to mystic's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Oooo I have to try that porridge we could use some variety around here for days I don't want to do a big spread, and the days my growing son has an insatiable appetite I struggle to keep the food coming. High fiber low carb yay! -
We keep seeing this summary of the research study the authors fail to point out a sample size of 59 is small. Additionally, research should be peer reviewed and the experiment reproduceable with similar results by other researchers to draw conclusions. Another summary of the same circulated research study with only 59 subjects stating it's "hard "...

Lucy Lou, If it is a med you can not go without can you ask the pharmacist if you can open the capsule and remove the contents and adding to and taking it with applesauce, yogurt, pudding or some other food that is soft and you are tolerant to, to mask the taste. It may not taste pleasant but may get you around the cellulose issue. Depends on the...

I get all kinds of symptoms that over the decades like to rotate and pop up, elude, go evasive, team me etc. My skin manifestations were missed numerous times. I can a full on out almost every where after I delivered my daughter to regular cyst like bumps on bum, face , along with my red mask nose and cheeks, very painful insanely itchy fluid filled...

Hi Marcos, I hope your testing goes well today. As others stated this Dr may not be the best fit for you especially bedside manner. It sounds like you nurse wife is golden and will aid you however she can to possibly locate another. I know NHS is different than US insurance based system so I am unsure of the complexities of changing Dr's and time lines...

I don't know if my husband would be labeled a gluten-free trend dieter, but I don't view him as such. He can eat gluten, but since my symptoms are so extreme we removed it and corn another intolerance entirely from the home. Including his beer he drinks Daura Damn. My son has my issues as well that revealed themselves after we removed the items from...

does sugar free chewing gum cause problems
Awol cast iron stomach replied to blahblah's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't do gum. I too since the gluten challenge can only handle post challenge 13 months sugar derived from cane or beets. In cooking I use honey or maple syrup to sweeten. I don't even use sugar to cook or bake. my immune system reacts to artificial and corn derived sugars and preservatives. -
Wow I did know of the horrible thoughts and aggression towards gluten-free eaters. I have experienced personally before in several work places being gluten-free prior to my gluten challenge an array of behaviors quite frankly imho that should be considered a violation/ discrimination of legally protected disability state/federal laws. I was undiagnosed...

EXcellent advice from both jmg & gluten-free in D.C. . They have both helped me immensely. I initially did it wrong too based on being diagnosed IBS 20 plus years and becoming progressively worse with time . As gluten was my issue. I then did as we should not ( went self diagnosed gluten-free out of desperation , had incorrect info , since I didn...

Never a bad idea to further read up on nutrition or consult with one if covered by insurance or in budget. While celiacs can have most foods except wheat, rye, barley some of us have additional intolerances too. Some have intolerances to lectin foods or nightshade foods as well. Even if not intolerant sometimes when highly inflamed these items may...

Wow neat site with your positive words and others positive reviews. Thanks admin and Ennis. In addition to making sure we know how to prep (hopefully for things no one will have to experience) this is helpful for traveling &a camping as some of you point out. Im still very much trying to process all of this (takes some time) but seeing...

Hi Marcos, welcome to the community. it is quite frustrating to go decades with this condition being undiagnosed I too was labeled IBS for 2 decades and you and I share some symptoms. All your feelings are valid, the regret over loss of our primary or chosen career and employment are terrible and often tragically befall us. I am...

As most veteran celiac's have likely lost the taste/ desire for wheat over the many years they have been gluten-free not sure if the target celiac audience will be big buyers. To add to Ennis' point why this angle Vs. helping the actual autoimmune celiac patient, the thought crossed my mind too. Sorry to be the pessimist I thought of industry, commodities...
