  1. Yes the gluten-free diet showed me what a real GI tract should function like. Give it time things will stabilize and ultimately the body will run on routine/schedule. Something many of us don't achieve until diagnosis and healing.👍
  2. Not sure what part of MI you are in perhaps this link will help with a food pantry to help supplement your shopping . https://nationalceliac.org/the-gluten-free-food-bank/ https://nationalceliac.org/pantrydirectory/listing/shimmys-cupboard This one also may be good to help you get started https://marjiespantry.com/ My mother in law...
  3. I had gi issues my whole life. I was not diagnosed properly for decades. I began to lose feeling in my big toes then I would lose feeling (numb) in my upper left arm. I could lift my arms though. It is frustrating some Dr s may only associate Celiac with weight loss. We don't all fit in that box. My cousin lost weight as a symptom. She had marsh grade...
  4. Ditto constipation,gi issues entire life. Neuropathy, brain fog, swelling, hands, feet, lower chin/neck and then some. I bloat badly and many of my organs swll/ inflammation (after having my children ) people often thought I was pregnant a again. welcome and good luck on your testing process/diagnosis journey.
  5. Indeed that pain can radiate as you described. Glad the older thread was helpful. You can always start a newer one as well if you like further discussion.
  6. This is really helpful info for us on the message boards. I was never diagnosed with anything like this, but definitely have had problems with vitamins d, b, mg, and electrolytes after the challenge, while healing, or in the weeks after an unfortunate cc event.
  7. While many people say play dough shouldn't be an issue. May I suggest a fun activity to rule that out see if they family is open to you bringing homemade playdough or making it together that way it is safe for you. example recipes here (I suggest NOT making it known it is ediable. don't want to confuse your little kiddos you work with) https...
  8. I can only give you a non medical answer based on experience. I am sorry you see your child struggling. It must be hard. It is not unusual to have a 2 month space between appointment, testing, and endo scopy. My timeline was in 2016. My first Dr allergist/immunologist in March 2016 had to rule out allergies environmental/food IgE allergies, she then...
  9. No idea why I unable to edit my above post to correct my erroneous auto correct. I hope it makes sense.
  10. Ironically my DH issues did not show up during my 2 week gluten challenge. I know I can not compete a 12 week gluten challenge. So I don't have it official in my records. I suspect since PUPPP rash in pregnancy can be found in D H /celiacs. That I had for sure in 2004 although my gluten intolerance was not on the books until 2016. My gi issues have...
  11. After my gluten challenge it took 2 years and 4 months to feel decent. I was unable to maintain my work schedule and eventually was no longer schedule d. I lost time as a mom. Time I regretfully will not get back. On some level the universe gave me a stay at home order this year and my kids were stuck with me. Maybe I can try to get back some of that sub...
  12. Yikes lightheaded on the verge of passing out. I spent all of 2008 like that !!!!. I was told take a good vitamin when that didn't work, I was told all in my head.( I had gi issues my whole life. Misdiagnosed in my early 20's etc.) In 2008 I I went to general Dr, asked about thyroid etc, then ob/gyn, immunologist/allergist, and dermatologist. Bad times...
  13. If your not canning. I make "chia" based jams to make fresh jam on an as needed basis. My husband's favorite is when I make cherry chia seed jam.
  14. While the bifido is one part of my probiotic, I do not find that the bifido/probiotic stops the rash from erupting. Although that's only my experience. I do find probiotics helpful to support my gi. My last cc event the rash lasted 7 weeks. It was during my state's stay at home order. I could not get to my chiropractor/accupucturist which is part of...
  15. I don't use otc creams many of them have too many ingredients for my skin. I use witch hazel, aloe, coconut oil, or coconut oil/shea depending what level of moisture I need. As for the gluten-free label or doesn't matter if it contains gluten it's on your skin etc. I have tried out both philosophy s . I have had the experience of using a friend's liquid...
  16. I am just getting over seven weeks of DH. So I got cc somehow. Pretty sure it was a one off cc of naturally gluten-free food processing, shipment, handling etc. 🤔 It was during our state stay at home order , so I couldn't get to my acupuncturist right away. I am hoping that is it for this years reminder of gluten is harmful. I hope to celebrate ne...
  17. I get kp flare on the back of my arms simultaneously when my DH flares on other parts of my body. My experience is you can have more than one skin issues flare when gluten. Good luck
  18. I get very painful burning in my stomach and at the lower junction of my esophagus and stomach. My stomach and the junction of the esophagus/ stomach was visibly inflamed damaged and discolored at the time of my scopes. Seen before they even took the sample. The scope of the area revealed mass infiltration of inflammatory markers there . My intestines...
  19. A lot of check marks of your symptoms match my own personal experience. Finish your testing and then if gluten is the confirmed as the issue. Go whole foods only in the early stages no processed including processed gluten-free. Review all the 101 info on this site to truly be cc free, so you can heal asap. Welcome and good luck on your healing...
  20. Yes. As mentioned above by admin it does. In my experience my short term memory got thrown off. Sometimes focus as well. Mind drifted more easily. I would have to turn around at end of block to check if I closed the garage door. I just left from. Our garage repairman actually put in a delay for me last time he was out. I have to hit the garage door button...
  21. Hello and welcome. As the others have stated for many of us it's whole foods in those initial days. Honestly for me it was 2 years and 4 months. Since that much time passes many of us lose the taste for the standard American processed snack foods. Based on my experience the Maltodextrin derived from corn would be a problem . I had 13 food intolerance s after...
  22. Since I make all my gluten-free baked goods I am finding my usual flours are out at the manufacturer. Unable to reorder. I hope they will be back in stock soon. Also many of the fresh meat and foods I regularly eat from specific stores are not on shelf. I have to try frozen and packaged alternatives to fill in gaps. I was cc last month from something that...
  23. I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance years after having my children. I had gi issues decades before. I later learned I was misdiagnosed with another gi condition, as I was diagnosed by symptoms only no scopes. I experienced PUPPP rash while pregnant with my daughter. It started on my belly before delivery, then after I delivered her it massively erupted...
  24. In the 2008 I had delayed hypersensitivity to band aids and adhesives. I was concerned I was reacting to adhesives and other compounds. It was 8 years before my gluten issues were tested for. It was a time my immune system was on high alert and reacting to everything. I called an allergist to ask for testing they missed my gluten intolerance, despite...
