  1. I really miss Pizza. I've tried many different brands but never that good. I stick with the Freshetta gluten-free pizza. It has the CSA symbol on it meaning that it has gone through some of the strictest tests there are and can test down to 5ppm I think. It's about as close to the real deal that I've come across.
  2. Found it: "The Canadian Celiac Association (CCA) recommends that people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity DO NOT consume the gluten-free labeled Cheerios products at this time because of concerns about the potential levels of gluten in boxes of these cereals...Based on the information provided to date, our scientific advisors are not convinced...
  3. I got very sick from the Cheerios but never the Chex. I posted something about this before and I'll try to dig it up.
  4. You don't have Turner's Syndrome do you? My niece was diagnosed with celiac disease which later led to a diagnoses of Turner's. There is evidently some sort of connection between the two. They gave her shots of HGH to help her grow because she too was very short.
  5. Kim, I tried with those two doctors you mentioned and didn't have much luck at all. They are from the Ohio Liver and GI group. The local support group isn't local and the webpage hasn't been updated in 4 years and it seems that nobody with celiac disease wants to talk about things that help out here in Cinciny. I actually posted a similar plea for help some...
  6. So i've been checking into food delivery services that are gluten-free because I'm sick and tired of trying to keep up with the products out there. There are 2 out there that have replied to all the questions out there and 1 I've tried. Premade Paleo is pretty self explanatory. It's based on the Paleo diet and claims to be 100% gluten-free in a dedicated...
  7. I've read up on both of these and checked out their websites but still am on the fence about these 2 drinks. Are these drinks gluten free or has anyone had any issues with these?
  8. so all the wink flavors are gluten-free?
  9. The only thing that worries me is the cross contamination risk in the plants. Around Cincinnati they have graeters. This is the best damn ice cream there is. If you look at their website though, every flavor is listed as gluten-free, even the cookie dough. I try to get in touch with them but never can get a response. Their Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip is...
  10. What about store brands like Kroger?
  11. Looks like they have their own version of Dr.Pepper too. I think I saw it at Krogers but skipped over it cause the price. I'll give it a try. I never got around to trying the Veggie Elite but instead tried a protein powder made by BioChem. Not too bad and no reaction yet.
  12. I actually thought about getting a soda stream and putting my own fresh fruit juice in it. All it is though is soda water and juice though.
  13. I actually found one but no matter how much I try to get in or in touch, no luck. They have their own webpage that hasn't been updated in 4 years, facebook page that gets updated, but all their meetings take place 1 hour north of Cincinnati. They even have their own blog page that requires approval to make posts that is active but never get approved. The...
  14. My niece and I both have celiac disease and are searching for a group. One thing that I've learned is that people with celiac disease often keep to themselves about their diets or are reluctant to let any newcomers into their groups. Then you always have to watch out for the self diagnosed or fad diet gluten-free people out there. Anyone near by?
  15. Which ones are really safe? I've been drinking Dr. Pepper with no problems but what about the others out there? For some reason I've been craving Ginger Ale and other soft drinks lately. I'm just tired of the same old same old. Depending on where you look, the caramel coloring is bad, of malterdextrin, or god only knows what. Everyone makes the claim but...
  16. It's hot out there and I was wondering if anyone out there knows of some great tasting ice creams or sorbets that are safe? I'm not a big fan of the coconut milks or soy milks stuff either. I just bought some of the Chloe's bars to give them a taste but I miss my Ice Cream! Any suggestions that won't make me regret eating it later?
  17. Yes they sell it by the bottle and it's the best, if not one of the best bbq sauces out there. Its a big deal up here in Cincinnati area. I think I'll give it a try. You're from Austin right? I was stationed at Ft. Hood for 5 years. Some of the best bbq I ever had was at this little place on the road between Hood and Austin. What's the road, 95? You could...
  18. Anyone who is from the Cincinnati area knows that when it comes to bbq, Montgomery inn is one of the most popular places to go. Last year they changed their formula to a gluten free version. I've been skeptical for the last year so I emailed them last night. Here is the response: Thanks for your note. In the past, we used 2 vinegars that caused our...
  19. What about any of the frozen veggies. I know I saw some of the frozen meledy and stir fry mixes that I don't think were seasoned. Any body try those?
  20. My girlfriend got me a membership to Costco today because the gluten free food she heard about there. I love the Sabatasso's Pizza in the 3 pack. It's certified by the CSA which tests for under 5ppm. They had a ton and I mean a ton of other stuff marked as gluten free but we all know that really doesn't mean too much sometimes. These stores are all over the...
  21. Great. My daughter doesn't have celiac disease and I think she'd love to have that to drink when she comes over on the weekends. Thanks.
  22. Okay, I know that Kraft is supposed to be a trusted name as far as disclosing gluten containing ingredients but I always think it's best to hear from anyone whose gave it a shot. What's the verdict on Koolaide and Country Time Lemonade Mixes, They say Gluten free but what kind of experiences have people had with them?
  23. I used to use Birdseye but for some reason kept having reactions to their rice and other plain veggies. Did some research and found this: "While our manufacturing facilities follow the accepted good manufacturing practices, we do not have the flexibility of segregating production lines for the exclusive production of wheat-free items."
  24. Buying fresh is the way to go but now its winter so I'm looking for some frozen veggies. I always got the reaction on the Birdseye non flavored stuff because of the shared lines. I wonder about Green Giant? What brands have you guys found to be safe?
  25. Does anyone know of a good safe brand of frozen veggies. I'm very busy and they would be very good to have in hand for a quick fix. I used to use Birdseye but for some reason kept having reactions to their rice and other plain veggies. Did some research and found this: "While our manufacturing facilities follow the accepted good manufacturing practices...
