  1. I have not read this whole thread, but numbness in half the face is a classic Lyme symptom.
  2. The symptom list is the second post on the first page.
  3. I was going to mention that both garlic and onions have anti-fungal properties. If you have a problem with candida, then they can make you feel bad. Rachel's answer was more complete.
  4. Could you possibly be sensitive to soy? Maybe you're just sensitive to the hydrogenated oils and other ingredients ... if you're used to eating healthy, some of these artificial ingredients might cause some kind of a reaction.
  5. If it has trace amounts, a celiac should not take it. I have gluten intolerance as a secondary condition to another disease and my gluten intolerance is diminishing greatly as I am healing ... I will continue to take it, but a celiac should not. The unique thing about VSL#3 is the high number of bacteria (450 billion). The next highest that I take...
  6. That would explain it. Here's the website with ingredient listings for the US. http://www.vsl3.com/VSL3/order.asp
  7. Hmm, that's interesting. Sounds like a the allergen warning they use when something is made in a facility that processes wheat .... my box does not say that, neither does the insert, so that must be new. You might call them and ask. A few months ago when I did they told me it was okay.
  8. I called the company, and it's gluten-free. I never noticed that comment on the insert .... are you using the packets? Both the flavored and unflavored are gluten-free.
  9. I eat things made on shared equipment. I watch for a reaction ... and if something causes a reaction, I don't eat it anymore. I know some people don't want to do it that way, which is fine. This method wouldn't work for someone who didn't react to small amounts of gluten. Nesquick said the product had no gluten ... possible contamination. Pretty...
  10. Right now, don't worry about how bad a disease is ... worry about finding out what's wrong! You have had some good advice here ... get started with testing. Three different diseases have been mentioned -- celiac, crohns, and lyme. For celiac, the first step is a simple blood test. The second step is an endoscopy, and you might want a colonoscopy to...
  11. It could be celiac disease. It could be Lyme Disease. The symptoms of the two are almost the same. I would ask the doctor to start testing you and if he won't, I'd find another doctor! The celiac test is a simple blood test ... he should be willing to do it for you. And, no, you're not a hypochondriac. I've been accused of being one myself. My...
  12. This is what I think, too. I have other underlying health problems that are likely causing me to be gluten intolerant. Once they are fixed, I am guessing that I might be able to tolerate gluten again, but I won't know until then. In the meantime, I get sick off a crumb. I'm not looking to go out and get a pizza, but it would be nice to not have to worry...
  13. Don't write off PF Changs! They have a gluten-free menu and are very careful, but like anywhere (including HOME!), they can make mistakes. I've never had a problem there, but I've seen two or three people post about having problems there on occasion. Face creams can be a source of gluten, but hand cream can be worse! I must say, after a year of being...
  14. The only circumstance I would say to try it is if you are definately not a celiac. I'm not, but I'm afraid to try it!
  15. Here is a link that explains how it works. In the link it says products like Glutenease are not suitable for celiacs. They say it works for people who have a leaky gut and have problems with gluten and caseine from that. http://www.enzymestuff.com/dietsgfcf.htm
  16. Frosties are gluten-free. Kraft clearly labels, so you can trust the ingredients list on their dressings. It varies around here what breads everyone likes. My hubby made some good grilled cheese with Kinnikinnick ... the brown sandwich bread is perfect for them. It makes good egg sandwiches, too. A very different kind of bread from Kinnikinnick...
  17. I'm one of those cooks that never measures! LOL Just brown the ground beef with onions and garlic if you're using fresh, then I sprinkle the other spices (and garlic powder if you didn't use fresh), to taste. I'm VERY generous when I use spices. The chili peppers come in a spice bottle at the grocery. Sorry I can't be more exact ... I cook everything...
  18. The ingredients look fine to me, but there are a lot of them and it might have MSG or something else that's bothering you. I usually just use cumin, garlic, onion, and pepper (either chipolte or cayenne) to season my taco meat and avoid the packets. Hope you feel better soon!
  19. You love Mr. Darcy!!!!

  20. My husband is not gluten intolerant ... he cannot drink Evian without getting a headache. I think some bottled waters bother some people because of filters, or minerals, or whatever. You just need to find what suits you. Maybe a water filter at home and drink out of glass.
  21. They are can be grain fed, but gluten does not get in the meat. I'm also super-sensitive. I would make a bet that your doc just likes to promote the vegan lifestyle ... but that's just my guess.
  22. Erin, you might try determining if it's the meat or the dairy that's bothering you. I would guess you got glutened at the office party. Dairy/casein is something many celiacs have a problem with in a very similar way to gluten. No sense cutting out meat if it's not really bothering you as it's a good protein source.
  23. Vitamin C can cause d. I take it in a pill form and to find out my maximum dosage, I started with 1000mg, then I added one pill to that each day till I got d. Then I subtracted one pill so I was taking the maximum amount I could with no discomfort. I can take 2000 mg. per day in addition to the 300 mg. in my multiple ... some people can take more than...
  24. I would double check. Someone along the lines may be making an assumption. They use the same syrup for the gingerbread as they do for the other lattes. If you like it, I'd definately research it better.
