  1. In a rush I bought something for my dried out lips. Oddly it made my throat feel like it was closing up and scratchy. I washed it off and found the packaging in my purse. Yup, wheat germ oil. I didn't even think to read it when I bought it. You'd think after almost 10 years I would know better. Oddly no other reaction than the allergy-ish reaction though...
  2. thanks. I was all excited thinking we had a nutritionist on the boards.
  3. I take trazadone and don't have any rashes. I had horrible DH years ago, way before I started taking T.
  4. See if you can get in with a dermatologist sooner!
  5. Seriously! I had things wrong that corrected that I didn't know weren't NORMAL, lol. IBS for sure should always get a celiac screen. I don't know what's wrong with doctors that they rely on that so often, other than they only picked being a doctor because they wanted big bucks, not because they wanted to help people. Is this because of awareness...
  6. Could the cup itself be contaminated with gluten? Perhaps being washed alongside beer mugs? Just a crazy thought.
  7. Exactly. Especially since only about half were symptomatic. If you have no symptoms you aren't going to ask for a celiac panel. It's hard enough when you have lots of symptoms to get hate right tests run!
  8. Thanks for the advice. Already stopped the trail mix. Fingers crossed! To be clear, i did not have the trail mix on weekends due to the availability of other foods. If it doesn't work I'll try to cut out milk, but I do have that daily in my coffee so not sure if it would only affect me 2 days. And Ennis I did take your advice from earlier and cut...
  9. Which glues have gluten? Cannot find info on that, besides of course wallpaper paste which is why I said no papier-mâché .
  10. Erasers, markers and glue don't have gluten. Now just don't make papier-mâché with them. That has gluten.
  11. So I have been keeping a food diary, as I've been having on and off again big D. For the first time in my life. Instead of daily like it was for a couple weeks, it's tapered off. In an unusual way. I have noticed that the ONLY thing that makes sense is that I eat an apple for breakfast M-F and my trail mix, with peanuts and raisins and peanut butter...
  12. We all have issues with malabsorption while our villi are healing. So although you are probably getting enough iron into your diet, it might not be absorbed properly. Were you getting any symptoms of low iron? For now, maybe you should look at your symptoms instead of getting upset about your numbers. Also I know you need to eat Vitamin C at the same time...
  13. Sounds promising, except for this part. I wonder how reducing inflammation increases infections? Or rather, fatal infections? In this study, the reduction in cancer deaths was balanced out by an increase in fatal infections among those taking Canakinumab
  14. I had no idea there was a gluten allergy! What was the testing process?
  15. If you get accidentally glutened, how do you keep doing it for several weeks? Or do you mean you get glutened once and several weeks later you react?
  16. You certainly have the right to choose this if you wish. But consider the idea that one day you might have a significant other, or something else in your life that is worth living for. Perhaps even children! Those extra 15- 30 years of health might be more than welcome to have then. And also realize you will be opening yourself to getting one, if not more...
  17. Does this mean she has a wheat allergy that is diagnosed? If so that is good as it will help get that 504 in place!
  18. "Any Coeliac will tell you the most awkward time of the day for them is lunch" Ya just can't make stuff like this up. Lunchtime is awkward?
  19. Shouldn't they be studying why celiacs who have been gluten-free for a year are still seropositive and having moderate to severe symptoms? It sounded like the pill was suppposed to be taken with meals that might have cc ? So why would they do a study where it's given with gluten-free meals? What would it be breaking down if the meal has no gluten? How...
  20. What is that? Makes us look stoopid. If I didn't know this site and saw that article being touted I would believe anything here.
  21. I'm confused. You don't have celiac? Have you had a blood test or biopsy? Have you been diagnosed with DH? What were you diagnosed with 9 years ago? If it was celiac or DH why have you only been gluten-free for 6 months? We need a better picture of what's going on here to help you more successfully.
  22. It doesn't change DH, but it always makes me smile thinking someone means Dear Husband instead of the rash.
