  1. Hello, I had a son who was speech delayed so I know how scary it can be. Mine is 19 now and He is never quiet anymore! I can hardly remember those days! Im trying to understand his story. He was ok before he was diagnosed, but afterwards he stopped making progress towards speech? What changed besides going gluten-free, if anything? Was it immediately...
  2. This was written 5 years ago. Wonder how it all worked out?
  3. Congrats Ennis, you've worked super hard and you really deserve it. Now go forth and make your fortune modeling!
  4. Can't tell you how happy I am that there are lots of pizza places around Yale.....? Isn't that normal for a university?
  5. One of my sons had crazy reactions to chocolate starting then. He would just go from super sweet and snap into Mr. Hyde. We had to ban chocolate from the house for a couple years (well my husband and I had secret chocolate stashes!) but I just wanted to say that sometimes it's not just gluten. We have to be super detectives, always!
  6. Great idea, but I haven't been on antibiotics in years. I can't even recall the last time. But I'll google kefir as I don't know what it is yet! Thanks so much!
  7. They wouldn't be able to tell you much as they send off the biopsies for analysis. Good luck Friday!
  8. It has never hurt me but I don't seem to get any symptoms when I'm glutened these days-
  9. Gluten made me mean. Especially Pepperidge farm products and certain other things. made me pick fights with my parents when I was a kid. I felt like Jekyll and Hyde too. I could tell I was mean but couldn't stop it.
  10. Does the celiac guy make his own beer or is he adding it to already made beer?
  11. Knitty- good idea, but I am fine with milk. I didn't drink it for the first year or so (until 2009) and I eat yogurt cheese and milk daily now. I do take a daily multivitamin usually but had stopped taking it for awhile because I started the D at a similar time I started the new brand I got and was worried it was part of the problem. cylclinglady- I...
  12. If you take the blood test and you aren't eating gluten, especially for a long time, it will be negative whether you have celiac or not. You need to be eating gluten in order to have something to react to. (Make sure to read the whole article cyclinglady gave you.)
  13. I super thank you to everyone who is helping me!! so I don't know how to do multi quote but I'll try to reply to everyone: gluten free 01- I don't have any parts left inside since 2008 (one of the surgeries I had when the docs were trying to figure out why I was having such incredible pain pre- gluten-free) so it's probably not any girly bits messed...
  14. Spoke too soon. Big D is back. No change in diet other than lack of apples since Ennis' suggestion. What is going on? I never ever have had this happen to me. Especially for almost non stop 3 weeks. My usually curvy tummy is nearly flat for the first time in decades! At least today is a day off from work due to a gunman in the school's neighborhood...
  15. Sounds delicious. I am mostly interested in the Banza brand to see how they fare the next day and how good they are supposed to taste according to the review.
  16. Just saw this article http://www.bonappetit.com/story/banza-chickpea-pasta and did a search here and saw it mentioned briefly in this thread. Has anyone tried the Banza pasta? I love the nutrition on it! And it's actually sold near where I live Would love to try it soon!
  17. Talk about bad information! If you usually take wheat products, and other kinds of food that contain gluten, it is high time you changed your diet because you could be risking catching celiac disease.
  18. Friend should get on the cancellation list. And call frequently to get a sooner appt. Any reason why it took several months for your friend to take her daughter to the doctor? Sorry, no idea about whether or not she's presenting with celiac. I imagine she could try the gluten-free diet to see if it helps?
  19. "Gluten intolerance or celiac disease — a rare disease which is nonetheless trying to earn money various brands of nutrition by decorating all of its products garish labels reading “gluten-free”" Garish labels, lol! I think the translation in some of the articles on micetimes is a bit off.
