Did you go gluten-free before or after the gastric band surgery? I ask as the friends I have both have terrible abdominal pain, like they are tied up in knots inside, so I'm wondering about the timing. -

My stomach makes weird noises when I go overboard on ice cream (more than a quarter cup). I always get separate ice cream because I go thru mine so slowly. -
ARCHIVED Hookworm treatment for celiac... who's in?

I tell you, if they proved this really did work and it was studied for years and was widely available, I might be up for this. They say that the worms work for all sorts of allergies and things like ulcerative colitis. I heard on NPR years ago about a guy who sells the worm eggs. He had bad asthma, and traveled to a country in Africa and walked around... -

Wow I feel icky just looking at that pic. Last time I drank heavily was over 30 years ago and I can still remember how bad I felt. your outer body experience sounds like something out of a creepy movie, very scary. -
ARCHIVED Pretty sure I ate gluten yesterday.
Victoria1234 replied to Noobette's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I must say that their website makes their products look delicious! I've never heard of it either... but yes, you certainly are correct, there's wheat in the soy sauce that's in there. What a surprise! -
ARCHIVED Stomach cramping.

Something I do is carry a trail mix I made with me everywhere. If I get suddenly hungry, which does seem to happen especially when away from home, I'll just have a small handful. Otherwise I start to get lightheaded. If I forget my trail mix, I'm screwed. -

Seriously if it wasn't for coffee, I'd never go to the bathroom. Theres a whole big long crazy coffee thread started by AristotlesCat in case you want to read about it. Just do a search for him, it was his last post I think. -

That's a whole new avenue there with the bariatric (sp?) surgery aspect. I've had 2 friends have the surgery and both have had had rotten issues afterwards. Both had to quit their jobs due to unexplained illnesses and symptoms. Both are horribly constipated , even with fancy new meds. And neither can find any food combinations that seem to make them feel... -

How were you even alive after so much alcohol? My nephew actually died from approximately 20 shots (we had to estimate from his blood alcohol level). -

Just read this on their site about celiac.... I'm having brain fog right now! Is this true or not? Watch out for the following phrases. They could mean that a product contains gluten: "Modified food Open Original Shared Link." "Hydrolyzed vegetable protein." -
I was biopsied in 2006 or 2007 the correct way and they called it dh. But no one told me anything about celiac then. It wasn't until I joined this board that, I think it was jmg, told me dh meant celiac diagnosis. Btw the rash presented on my elbow area and a bit down from that. First year or two of going gluten-free I knew I was sensitive to something...

ARCHIVED This post is all about poop.
Victoria1234 replied to CaroCaroCaro's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I don't know what I am on the poop scale, but I've always been on the c side since I had children. I think once or twice in my entire life I've had d, but I don't recall. So my issue has never really straightened itself out in the last 9 years. But the c does get worse if I've been glutened. Don't despair though, lots of people here have had relief from d... -
