  1. This is my theory. I very rarely eat foods like this anymore!
  2. Even too much of a processed, gluten-free food, such as cookies, made the itch come back. But not the rash. I only had very small amounts of cc the first year or two going gluten-free, so the itch was the extent of it. You certainly may have a different experience. Good luck! And make sure to read the newbie info we have to set up your kitchen, what to eat...
  3. It IS a thing! Many people here have it. Stay off gluten and feel better!
  4. I used to do this too! My whole life I did not love bread and bready things. My least favorite place to eat was Subway with the huge, thick bread. Yuck. I still hardly eat gluten-free bread. Except for breadcrumbs coating things that my husband makes.
  5. Please go to your doctor and get the full celiac blood work panel done asap. Do not stop eating gluten until ALL testing is completed. Your doctor may refer you for more testing when your blood work comes back. It's important that you get tested for celiac, rather than going off gluten on your own. Please feel free to ask us any and all questions...
  6. Yes, after I was off gluten, even a crumb would give me my dh itching back. Even gluten-free foods that were processed would do it. I was unbelievably sensitive, i know you can activate celiac at any point in your life, so I imagine you are not immune. Not sure if you'd get it because of eating gluten, but I'd sure stay away from it if I were you. I...
  7. We don't eat out now because it's too expensive, but we used to! And my mil takes us out sometimes too. I research what I can eat, ask about how the food is cooked, cross contamination issues, etc, and decide what to get, if anything. I've brought my own food to gatherings and I'm old enough not to care if I get funny looks (which doesn't happen often.) ...
  8. Tamari is delicious. I like it better than soy sauce.
  9. Oh they do! I've read back over10 years and more.
  10. Why so many? Isn't it a neighborhood thing? Or are they bussed in from nearby states? That's insane!
  11. Did you end up reacting?
  12. I'm so curious to read it, but cannot find it! Was it under tspiggy? Plus I'm so glad you are doing so well!
  13. Ennis I thought you were more around 150. You look great at 132.
  14. Wow! You could be as low as 137 and still be in "normal" range. I would think that would look like skin and bones on a 6' tall male. I guess we are more programmed to see a bit of weight on people. On the flip side, I am "normal" for my height and weight, yet think I look a bit heavy. But my body LOVES this weight, no matter what I eat- a little or a lot...
  15. I imagine because you have the name and brand of the contrast that you already contacted the imaging center. Did they have any options or suggestions? Possibly another brand they could order for you? It's a reasonable expectation that you should be accommodated for a health reason! And your doc should be fighting FOR you, not telling you to suck it up! Ridiculous...
  16. Please post as often as you want, with as many questions as you like! just an FYI, I rarely have xanthan gum. Probably a couple times a year for birthday cakes, that is all. There is no need to have it often if you are eating a whole food gluten-free diet. And I've been gluten-free almost 10 years now. I do so hope you are able to go gluten-free...
  17. I started going to bed earlier when this started happening to me about 3 years ago. Helped a little. My dad had just died and threw off my circadian rhythm. Then after about 6 months I had enough and asked my doc. She gave me trazadone which helps me fall asleep and stay asleep for the most part. If it's the weekend and I wake up in the middle of the night...
  18. Make your own! https://glutenfreeonashoestring.com/homemade-gluten-free-kit-kats/
  19. I don't remember if I used dapsone anymore. It was 10 years ago, lol. I remember them trying lots of things. My dermatologist wasn't the smartest as they dx. me with dh but didn't tell me that meant celiac. Still annoyed by that. Your blood numbers look pretty conclusive! do you have any other symptoms? Some people with dh don't have many other...
  20. Looks a lot like mine did. Does it ever go away? Mine would sometimes go away (at least the bumps) and turn purple ish. Thought my skin would never be normal again. Is the red part where you scratched it bloody? I did too. took quite a while gluten-free to go away. Even a crumb would bring it back at first. It seemed to take forever to get over it. It...
  21. There is no official stool test for celiac that a doctor would order. What kind of doctor did this? Please post your celiac blood test panel for us to see so we can help.
  22. Pretty sure it's 12 weeks recommended by experts. Good luck to you!
  23. Starch is gluten? Ive been teaching all day and way too tired to make sense of this article.... http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/gluten-starch-same-thing-7317.html
  24. I believe you have answered your own question. You need to go back on gluten and schedule a full panel celiac blood test in 12 weeks. 1-2 pieces of bread per day is fine.
