  1. There is at least one person here who does not have either of those 2 celiac genes who is celiac.
  2. I had hardly any appetite when I went gluten-free, for about 6 months to a year. I lost about 40 pounds. I saw food as a danger and in turn, it was nauseating to me. The less I ate the more nauseous the food made me. One day I remember food just tasted good again and then I was able to put back on some weight. These days I don't eat half of what I used to...
  3. You mention low cortisol. Did you get tested for Addison's disease?
  4. 15% off the licorice scotties here: http://shop.gimbalscandy.com/Gourmet-Jelly-Beans/p/GIM-10201&c=GimbalsCandy@JellyBeans
  5. Thanks very much. A gluten removed anything just sounds wrong. sadly haven't found any gluten-free beer I like so I just stick with water, lol.
  6. Snickers and Reese's!
  7. You can go here, which is found by clicking on the posters name https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/profile/74789-jules22/ and read her most recent posts about the biopsies.
  8. Good luck with the holistic doc. I saw a naturopath for months who set me on a good path until I couldn't afford all the supplements anymore. Be careful with that. I found nothing helped me more than decent whole food and good quality vitamins. And of course sleep and lots of water!
  9. Don't go gluten-free yet. Get the full celiac panel asap. Others will chime in what the full panel is. Sounds a lot like celiac. Your daughter needs the full panel too.
  10. Mine got better, but it took almost a year for me to be good enough I stopped using a meter. I just found my meter the other day and it brought back all the memories. I had forgotten about it.
  11. Yes, many of your symptoms seem gluten related. This post had the same prob as you with the hypoglycemia, where it got worse gluten-free.
  12. Here is a search of the topics on this website, maybe one can help you? https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/search/?q=Hypoglycemia&fromCSE=1
  13. No worries. What you said was super interesting and there's a ton of people who will read it when they google the right keywords!!!!!!
  14. Have you had a sleep study? I have severe sleep apnea and used to sleep 12 hours a night and still was exhausted. Falling asleep at a stoplight exhausted. I do not fit the typical male and overweight stereotype either! But my cpap keeps me more well rested and alive. A sleep study is easy and it's the cost of an office copay.
  15. I know this thread is very very old, but I want to suggest one thing to tired people. Get a sleep study. Sleep apnea is something that can cause you to be very tired, and it can kill you. A sleep study is super easy and the cost of an office visit copay. It's easy to treat with cpap and it's amazing how much better you feel.
  16. Always carry lots of gluten-free snacks whenever you travel, on the flight and elsewhere. Sometimes you are hungry and need something right away and it's too hard to find a place to accommodate ! I always packed one suitcase of food, which also included non gluten-free snacks for my 3 boys. We are always very thrifty, lol.
  17. At 6. Months I was still recuperating for sure. Still had the dh but less of it, still had chronic pain in my abdomen but less of it, still constipated. I was in the stage of eating gluten-free processed foods, which was too much gluten for me, and keeping my symptoms active. In all actuality my C stopped a few months ago. I've been gluten-free for almost...
  18. Tamari is super delicious.
  19. How what is possible? Sorry I'm not entirely clear on what you are referring to.
  20. You know all those specialists you are seeing? They don't know a thing. Especially the obgyn who is getting you to do the hysterectomy. There's nothing wrong with your uterus. And stop letting all the docs push drugs on you. No amount of painkillers is going to stop that abdominal pain. It's just making things worse. All those months off work is just wreaking...
  21. You guys seriously have something called curly wurlys? If so, I want to live in the U.K.....
