  1. I called the place. I have to say for as livid as I was last night i have calmed down! lol I just called and said I don't know if you guys know but I'm a celiac and I got SICK from the food last night, I wouldn't care so much but the fact that I dropped $163 for 3 people and you advertise gluten-free all over I thought you should know.

The girl wouldn't let me talk to a manager, wouldn't take my number and never said sorry.

She did say she doesn't know how that happened cause they really rip apart the kitchen and clean it every night. I said, cleaning doesn't always work with us due to CC, it only takes one tiny spot on the grill and we are done for. I told her I haven't been that sick in a LONG time, a few years actually. I honestly don't think she really listened...and she said this is the first complaint they got so IF YOU ATE THERE CALL THEM!!!!!

She also wanted to know what time we were there and who we were, I told her and she was there. When I get sick I never say anything cause A-I'm totally disoriented and B-will really jerk someone out cause I'm so mad, so I just keep my mouth shut and then call after...might I add, just cause you don't see our sickness, it's still there....and lingers for days.

Thoughts anyone!? and again CALL THEM IF YOU GOT SICK.

  2. I just ate there and I"m SICK. Normally I just sleep it off but i can't even sleep I'm hurting so bad. Not to mention I went there spending a ton of $ ($160 for 3 people) and I'm calling tomorrow and asking for my money back and if they know how it feels to have their intestines being ripped.

I'm livid. There have been a lot of warnings about this place on meetup.com and I should have listened.

    I had:

the egg rolls, chicken soup, mongolian beef, chug pow chicken, something that had chicken (don't remember), the ribs and fried rice. I can tell you it wasn't the egg rolls, soup, or ribs cause those came first and I felt fine for a while cause our food took forever.

That's all, just in pain, feel like poop, my skin is crawling and my cat is taking care of me.

  3. I start to think that and then i slap myself on the wrist and say everything happens for a reason and at least I'm not NEARLY as sick as i was when eating gluten. At least I only have to watch what goes in my mouth unlike some other horrid disease....in other words, it could be much worse. I also suffer from depression and "I'm pissed off about this disease-ness".

  4. Stop Intestinal Bleeding Diet

    Eliminate:

Alcohol, caffeine, decaffeinated coffee, carbonated drinks.

    Cheese, cream sauces, milk products.

Sour, vinegary, acidic foods and condiments.

    Tomatoes, tomato-based foods.

Citrus fruits or juices, pineapple, grapes, cherries, raspberries.

Cabbage family vegetables, beans, lentils, raw vegetables, coconut, roughage/high fiber foods, leafy green vegetables, hot/spicy foods, deep-fried foods, red meat, nuts and seeds.

Margarine or butter substitutes, artificial sweetners, carrageenan.

    Yeast, sugar if necessary.

Garlic, ginger, cumin, chilies, pepper, paprika, tumeric.

Processed foods; preservatives, MSG, nitrates, etc.

OMG THAT'S MY ENTIRE DIET!!!!!!!! ARUGH!!!!! I'm just going to keep my food journal and take it to Dr. Green...any one know if he takes Cigna?

  5. I can eat rice but I don't eat it very often. i'm not a health freak by choice really lol just cause it's easy (and might i briefly step on my soap box: you damn americans who eat fast food cause it's "easy and you don't have time" GROW UP and stop complaining your fat! it takes the same time to make a salad that it does to get in your car and drive to mcdonalds! it's all about taking responsibility...thank you for listening).

I have to confess I'm a MAJOR candy girl! (might I back that up with I'm a dancer and am very active, I eat them cause I can! Clearly I'm one of those "if the pants fit great, if they get tight, cut out something!" I'm 5 foot 2 and 110 pounds) I have cut down cause I just haven't felt like eating it since I'm bloating LOTS....but I have a huge mikasa bowl on my coffee table and the rule is "it always has to be full". All my friends are GREAT and funny cause they say "Mel can only eat candy, so instead of going out to dinner we go to her coffee table and can eat together!" and they bring candy every time they come over! Right now it's full of tootsie rolls, normally it's full of snickers and full size hershey bars.

I love coffee cause of the taste.

Do you mind posting a snickers like recipe?! i LOVE to bake! The whole foods bread is the only one that doesn't feel like brick to me! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH! not to mention they are great in the toaster oven! I'm cutting down on the coke cause I don't want to gain weight and it is easy to replace that with tea.

I'm with you on the grains, I don't think we are supposed to have them...

Guys I'm SO EXCITED to call Dr. Green!!! I'm hoping I can get in fast (and he takes my insurance...minor detail! lol) and praying that I don't have to cut out dairy. I FEAR that is the issue...well part of the issue...I'm starting a food/poo journal today and hopefully it will tell me something.

Again I can't thank you all enough for everything!!!

  6. oh and might I add...

when I get CCed I bleed and bleed and bleed.

I get ILL every time i eat gluten or get CCed. My mom has 2 auto immunes, my aunt has one, my other aunt had one, my brother has one and my grandmother has one.

    and my diet...

nothing has changed, when it comes to food I'm very into habits and fresh food it's fresher, yummy and just GREAT! Also it's a no brainer when it comes to "is this gluten-free?" I eat fresh vegies, fresh free range and no hormone meat, free range and healthy fed eggs, whole foods gluten-free bread, gluten-free cerial, fruit, milk, cheese (no blue), gluten-free coffee, and all the snickers bars I can eat! I drink water mostly, sometimes coke and sometimes tea and wine.

    am i doing anything wrong?

  7. THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH EVERYONE!!! OK So I have been gluten-free for a few years cause I didn't have insurance at the time and was sick of being sick and went to a clinic and the doctor said "you have celiac, you have the rash and all the symptoms but I'm not going to test you cause it costs to much, just read up and cut out Gluten." I did, my acne was gone, my rash got way better (flairs up when contaminated), i felt better all around.

I'm calling Dr. Green FIRST THING Monday morning....I'm taking it this "Dr. Green" is the guy that wrote that BRILLIANT book?! I love him already!

I don't get miffed about stupid doctors I get down right pissed off!

I have looked a bit online on bleeding and mostly it's all about hemmies.

I had a colonoscopy in Jan, this time he just did the hemmies thing but I still had to drink that horrid crap. oh and PS if you mix it with ginger ale, IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GO! It's way better!

OK Now as for the bleeding, it comes in all forms.

I'm rarely constipated...and I mean almost never. My poos have been HUGE but nice ones, they feel normal and soft. They aren't huge coming out, there is just a LOT of it! I have been getting a lot of diarrhea. I get blood at random times and I have been keeping mental notes and I'm not getting a "oh when i get the runs it bleeds only then", it's totally sparatic.

Now color range... It was just bright red and would rage from a few drops to 1/3 a cup. Then about 6 weeks ago i started getting deep, dark red blood on occasion too. That is when I started FREAKING out.

    Any thoughts?

  8. So as most of yall know I just had another scope because (mind you this has been going on and off since CHRISTMAS and I have been to 2 doctors and looking for my 3rd doctor) I have had bleeding and I am pooing poos 1/2 my weight about 5 times a day. To me, that means SOMETHING IS WRONG. Well this last a-hole scoped me a week ago scoped me because he thought it was a hemeriod and cotterized it. Fine. dandy.

Then after I woke up he brought me into his office and told me in short that I was a hypochondriac and there is no way i have any kind of gluten allergy.

This pissed me off to no end....but here is the kicker.

I'M STILL BLEEDING!!!! WTF?!??!? anyone got ideas? I'm terrified it's Chrones.

So I'm once again looking for a NEW doctor that LISTENS, is smart, and educated in celiac disease...oh and one that my insurance takes. People PLEASE list any and all doctors that you know of in NYC or Astoria area that take insurance. I know some of yall have told me about them but they are to far from me and don't take my insurance. Thanks so so so much.

  9. I know what you mean....2 years ago my work bought me a surprise cake....they got it from the Whole Foods bakery thinking it was safe...it was hard for me not to resent them cause they sort of tried....but I'm with you I want to GO OUT with people and not say "I'll meet you after fro drinks"...not to mention I went to Whole Foods today and got 2 of their canvas bags full of gluten-free food, mostly bread....$110 OUCH! gluten-free costs too much!!!

  10. First off WE HAVE ALL BEEN THERE!! When I'm tired I still go there! lol

Here is something i just posted on another board...also with this kind of cooking cross contamination is limited...actually I have never been CC-ed cooking this way!

My room mate bought me a toaster oven. At first I hated him for it cause I couldn't find good gluten-free bread....well I found good gluten-free bread and now that is all i cook in. I do what is called pouch cooking, you take any kind of meat, throw some seasons on it, wrap it loose in foil with a tiny vent at the top and throw it in there at 450 for about....fish i cook most and that's 15-20 min. You can also put tater tots in there, my fav! and any vegies with a tiny bit of water in the bottom of the foil and seasoning. Throw it in there for about 20 min and when it's done it's done, no mess, no dishes and it's fast! You can also (I learned this from Alton Brown on food TV, check out the pouch cooking show) do noodles!

Grab the gluten-free top ramen, layer in this order: top ramen, scallops, mushrooms, 5 shrimp, and the top ramen seasoning. This is where is gets a bit tricky. Bring the foil up and throw in 1 cups of water, close foil and cut a tiny vent and YAY you have a great meal! It's EASY! I love to cook but I find you can do so much with pouch cooking! It's also easy to travel with, just bring foil! lol I hope this helps!

Also I have found for most cookies just replace wheat four with cheap old rice flour. I have a GREAT AND EASY chocolate chip cookie recipe, it's a bit time consuming cause you have to trun the cookies 180 after 7 min and they have to sit before you move them for 5 min but they are the BEST. When I bake them my friends are always over JUST for the cookies and I have NOTHING left over...and these are my "gluten-ous friends!" they are also dairy free! Let us know if you need anything!!!! and if you want the cookie recipe!

  11. This is a bit lame but I HAD to share this. My cat has really bad allergies and her poo smells so bad she will blow you out of the house! i recently took her to a new vet. The vet asked what i was feeding her, i said Iams cause i hear it's the best.

She did a few swab tests.....tested them and came back and said "you cat is allergic to GRAINS, it's very common" "at first I thought this was a joke and how did she find out I was a Celiac?! She said Sass (my cat) has all the symptoms, smelly poo, runny eyes and nose and slugish! WHO KNEW!?

So I put her on this food that is pricey, about $1.07 a can, and it's grain free and she's like a new cat! I don't have to use 1/2 a can of oust to get rid of the smell, she is more regular and her runny nose and eyes are GONE! Not to mention she is move active and not as crotchity!

Thus, my daughter has the feline version of Celiac! My bf thinks I'm crazy and my mom says "well that is why she is your cat and came to you cause you would understand!"

We are both happy and well on our "grain free" diet! :)

  12. I haven't drank, until this weekend, for months - it sucks - I LOVE beer!! I can't drink it though.

I quit smoking & about the time I quit is when all this started. Since then, I ended up smoking again - American Spirit 100% organic lights. If I can refrain from smoking more than 1 or 2 per day - for some reason they help calm my tummy, but I need to quit for good.

Maybe it's cause you are deep breathing while smoking? When I started getting REALLY sick and this all happened it was during my divorce. Did you just go through a major life changing stress? I hate beer but my bf has tried the gluten-free beer and he said it wasn't that bad....mind you this is coming from a beer SNOB! But me, I love my Magners Cider, champagne and wine...any color!

  14. So is mine, but I dont seem to be moving anything - passing clear liquid freaked me out, but now its little pellets - I feel like I could drop half my body weight, it just wont go, though

Do you smoke? or drink any alcohol?

i do drink wine and sometimes a cider but not every night, mostly on the weekends. I do RARELY get the alcohol poos. I smoked years ago and quit and found i could breath better! lol

I don't own a home scale, i don't believe in them...as long as my pants fit well i don't care about weight...but i want to buy a home scale to see how much weight i loose before and after....

    do you drink or smoke?

  15. I travel for a living but a few years ago i worked all over the world. The only thing is can say is bring the "i can't eat what products" cards with you to EVERYTHING. If you can't get an answer from people just start bringing your own stuff....sounds tacky and it's a bit embarrassing at first but you get over it real quick cause you aren't playing a guessing game!
