  1. My mom lost a ton of weight before the wedding so she bought this expensive thing. just an a-line plain brides made dress....but it didn't look bridesmaid-ish.

my mother in law was white trash and wore this god aweful 1980's frumpy sack dress that was white with light purple and blue flowers thrown up all over....it was a mess....

i didn't care what they wore, i only cared about me and my then hubby, everyone is there for you and only you after all!

    dont stress it.

  2. I have found in restaurants with waiters/waitresses that don't give a crap about their job and think we are all head cases I just say "I have a SEVERE allergy to Gluten and it's not just an allergy it's also a disease" then they sometimes take pity on you. i hate to pull that route but I found it sometimes works. Also I have learned if you don't have a good feeling on the "i don't think they get my allergy" WALK OUT AND DON'T EAT THERE!

  3. wow....this blew up didn't it? Good Lord peeps! we are here to talk about our fav subject, CELIAC....lets get back to it shall we?!

I realized after I posted my last post about using noxzema and DH.....here is the deal.

I have been told I have DH and I don't have DH. i ONLY have a rash on my arms, had it 90% of my life and it can be itchy and doesn't go away for nothin'! It doesn't spread either....

Here is another thing. I just had this lightbulb moment....a few times a year i break into hives and they are red and look JUST like the DH photos I have seen....so what I have been having aren't hives maybe but DH?! But I get them in odd places, mostly my armpits (classy, i know!), and my tummy and sometimes my belly button (again, classy is the theme with this stuff!)....

humm.....do other people get DH in the armpits?! it's really a treat when they are in your pits! ;)

  4. here is a short summary of the past few days:

day 1: took it, felt fine, started to feel like i was gunna barf but thought it was cause i didn't eat much and was just hungry.

day 2: took it in the morning and barfed my brains out for a few hours.

day 3: took it and could bearly get it down, felt sick after

day 4: took it and i'm trying everything in my power not to barf.

    I'm done, it didn't work.

Does anyone have a good vitamin that helps with fatigue?!

  5. I have similar episodes but i don't barf. I feel like I'm going to. rarely I need to sit down and take a break. The barfing feeling is becoming more and more though...

I have taken Phenogrin and that is AWESOME stuff but it really knocked me out like a cheap date for about 8 hours. I also have my days of feeling great and feeling like crap. Some mornings I wake up feeling like I got hit by a mac truck. I'm a VERY active person too (dancer) and it's REALLY annoying. You are not totally alone.

  6. A friend of mine told me about this company that makes a vitamin type thing in a shake base that you take 2 times a day. He told me how much better he feels and how it has really improved his life (IE: no more head aches or fatigue and sleeps better). His friend then told me that she has depression and fibro milga (i know i spelled that wrong, sorry!) and it has REALLY improved her symptoms. Neither of these people have celiac.

I suffer from fatigue, depression and celiac (DUH!) and they think it might help me feel better. So I'm going to try it for 3 weeks. If it works I'm passing on the info! But I just wanted to give yall a heads up and I'll post on here if i feel any changes.

Has anyone else tried something similar to this? I REALLY hope it works, i'll try anything at this point!

  7. I did it! I FINALLY went to a PF Changs for the FIRST time! This was in the LA/Burbank area. I have NOTHING but WONDERFUL things so say! They staff was so educated! And WONDERFUL and they food was GREAT! I will be going to any PF Changs that i can find from here on out!

I ALSO went to the Chicagos Uno pizza in Escondido, CA and they were GREAT as well! They brought my food out sperarate from eveyone elses (i was there with 7 people) for fear of cross contamination! How NICE is that! i have again, NOTHING BUT NICE THINGS TO SAY! :) it made my trip!

That's all. I will be emailing wonderful letters to the headquarters as well and thanking them for a wonderful dining experience with my family!

    :)

  8. I am going to visit my family and we are taking a day trip to DisneyLand in Southern California. We will NOT be going to California Adventure. I'm a celiac and my brothers a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic. My brother needs a carb count for the food and drink and I can't find one....and what about celiac? We really want to eat all the good crappy jumk food but can we?! Thanks so much!

    :)

  9. Hi guys I'm at my whits end here and need some advise. Here is the short story.

I have celiac disease and 2 days after Christmas I started bleeding anally. The first day was about 3 tablespoons of bright red blood, the the 2nd was a tiny bit of the same. i went to the ER both days, they sent me home saying it wasn't a hemeriod and get a colon scope. i went in for the colon scope and they said before i went under that they were just going to look and not take any biopsies. When i woke up they said they did 2 biopsies. They came out fine.

I didn't bleed again until 2 days ago. It was bright red again and not that much the first day. The 2nd bright red and more. Today bright red mixed with dark red (they told me that's not good) and more.

I feel fine. i haven't gone back to the ER cause they said "don't come back until you have more then 1/2 a cup come out of you." Alas it's the weekend and my doctor is MIA, same with the scope doc.

Has anyone else had this? Does anyone know a great scope doctor in the NYC area? I'm so so so fed up and more irritated then fear at this point. Any advice?

Thanks guys, you all have helped me so so so much lately. I have been reading a lot on here and it's nice to know others go through what i go through with this and yall have answered tons of questions and addressed issues i have too.

    Thanks.

    MelRob.

  10. I have been looking into going Vegan because I have been reading how farmers treat animals and I hate it. I have done some research on it and here is my problem...I can't eat beans and salad for the rest of my life. I LOVE eggs and meat but again, hate the way they are treated.

Can anyone think of other foods I can eat other then vegies or fruit that's gluten-free?

  11. I just throw in a roast, vegies, seasons, a can of vegie broth and water and cook it all day. You don't have to have a recipe for a slowcooker. just don't try and make dumplings and put the thing on high all day, you end up with what we now call "poo poo stew". I love to crockpot! It's just EASY and YUMMY!
