  1. Thank you, Posterboy. I ordered some marshmallow powder, which should arrive tomorrow. Package says nothing about how much to use, though.
  2. Hmmm .... Wonder if I might tolerate egg whites. I will try. Eggs, avocado, macadamia milk, almond milk, purity protocol oatmeal, and bananas fall into a category where I can have them just once or twice, then they disagree. I believe I can tolerate all as ingredients in a recipe.
  3. Darn! Psyllium doesn't usually sit well with me.
  4. My bakery doesn't offer keto breads, but I'll look into these as well to see what ingredients they use. Is Julian available online?
  5. Thank you, Ennis. I will look into the marshmallow capsules. The ketogenic diet is not likely to work for me, since I seem to better without eggs and avocado, and with less fat, poultry, and red meat. Also, I notice that I digest better if food is well cooked, softer, and well mashed (e.g. sweet potatoes). I appreciate your point about mixing...
  6. Based on my research and talking to both my allergist and GI doc, it is possible to develop these sensitivites (dairy, then corn) when in the midst of a GI upset. Maybe I was a bit sensitive to these all along, and the reflux issue made them temporarily intolerable. Both docs felt I could reintroduce foods after I stabilize. Right now, I'm having...
  7. Thanks, will take a look. My Dr. did say I may have an ulcer from the length of time I was over producing acid without controlling it, hence the current plan. I am good with short term use. I was on it before for a long time, prior to my celiac diagnosis, and got off cold turkey after being gluten-free for several months. However, I'm always...

I really like them both. I got both in the Kindle version as I wanted to start right away...
  9. Hi Cristiana, I just wrote a long post, and accidentally clicked on the link I was including, and lost my post! I will try to recap ... From what I've read, not eating for a long period will increase acid production, so maybe that's what happened at the hotel? I'm doing better. I've done a ton of research and thinking and am now wondering...
  10. Hi Cristiana, I was wondering how you were doing ... figured since you hadn't posted, you were healed and on your way. I'm just doing so-so. The 2x per day Prilosec helped to a point. I started increasing meal size and food variety and am back to needing Tums and simethicone for bloating and burping and upset stomach. The GI did say it could...
  11. LOL, Cristiana, I do believe we have some kind of psychic connection. This weekend I decided that chocolate was back on the menu, too, but I think it was too much, too soon. I am having only a minor setback in terms of GI, and have not regressed to the point of not feeling well enough to do anything. However, a rash I had a few months ago has returned...
  12. Glad you're feeling better! I agree the stress makes a difference. My stress has been pretty low all summer, so I can't blame that too much. However, when my work picked up and I had other appointments and errands to fit in, I could tell that the tighter schedule and added stress did make a difference. Now ... we just have to be patient and eat...
  13. i am blessed to be close enough to a gluten-free bakery to buy incredible breads and desserts. They do ship within the US, and for the summer, shipping was free for purchases of around $25 to $30. Most of their products are gluten and dairy free. They have a chocolate bumpy cake that no one believes is gluten-free and DF. Their bread is usually light...
  14. I am keeping all mine, and I buy more all the time! I never was much of a cook. We mostly ate out or made a few simple dishes. After my diagnosis, I ended up learning to cook, and now enjoy it. The principles of cooking remain the same, it's just the ingredients have changed. I bought a Ninja Cooking System, which seemed to allow me as a novice...
  15. Hi Cristiana, Hope you are doing better. I saw the GI last week, and have info that may help you. First, I have an acid disorder ... overproduction. Prilosec only lasts for 16 hours, so it wasn't enough for me. I'm now on twice a day for a month to get this under control, then down to once a day. I hope to taper off after a month of once...
  16. It's a popular new small appliance here in the U.S. it's an electric pressure cooker that can also cook foods without pressure. http://instantpot.com
  17. Someone posted instructions in the corn thread on how to cook rice to reduce arsenic. I've tried with a rice cooker twice, but it overflows. Just tried with an instant pot. It didn't overflow, but I overcooked it, as I had no clue on cooking time. The instructions in the manual apply to ratios that will allow all the water to be absorbed. Has anyone...
  18. Thanks, I may try the Gaviscon trick. Do you take the chewables? That's all I saw in the store, not sure if it comes in other forms. I tried 1/2 banana, heated, mashed, with a sprinkle of cinnamon one night. It was so yummy that I had the other half! Not sure if it was that second half or eating at all that made me worse in the morning. I just...
  19. Could be you're not tolerating dairy for now? Gaviscon has one of the artificial sweeteners that end in "-ol" ... maybe mannitol, I forget which one is in it. I find variable results with Gaviscon. Sometimes it seems to work, then it backfires. I stopped everything that has an "-ol" sweetener in it (chewable gas-x did too), and noticed improvement...
  20. I so agree! I am now resolved to stick to this horribly limited diet so that I will feel OK. I will keep trying one tiny thing every few days, so that I can expand the scope of my intake. There are many things that were on my "I think it's OK list" that I can experiment with. LOL, just watch, i will be in good shape when my GI appt. finally rolls...
  21. Re: food diary, I did start by writing down everything, and how I felt after I ate it. After a couple days, I realized what I needed to cut out and what was working. That's when I made the lists. Now, I am writing down what I ate if it makes me feel better. In doing this, my diet is now pretty limited: mashed up overcooked sweet potatoes, mixed...
  22. I understand this. I also find it exhausting. The docs don't seem to realize how debilitating this is, and how lost we are. I guess it's a small problem in the grander scope of things they deal with daily. i am comforted to know that there are others out there with similar problems. And I know what you mean about thinking it might be this or that...
  23. I had the usual blood tests at my GI in early May. I saw him 2 days after this started, but didn't realize anything was actually going on. I was bloated, but passed it off as side effects of my sinus meds. In reality, it was new dairy intolerance. I'd had a cup of milk before I left for the appointment. My only scope was 4 years ago at diagnosis. ...
  24. What sort of side effects did you have? I feel like I still have acid every morning, upset stomach, bloating, burping, and poor tolerance to most food.
