  1. It is so disappointing when a company says they pay attention and list gluten, or they tell you their CC policies, but then people end up getting gluten symptoms when they eat the stuff. Fisher states they test their products for gluten too. I'll have to check out the prices of the link you gave us compared to Fisher and such. I don't buy nuts often because...
  2. I am so glad you brought this up, because I had not really thought about nuts, but I have been eating some. I was eating some Blue Diamond almonds here and there, but after just checking a website article I found online, I am not sure I trust their CC issues now. I did just found some info on Fisher Nuts that sounds very promising: "John B. Sanfilippo...
  3. Hi everyone. Sorry if this is old news, but I just found this website and it has where you can click on what allergens you are looking to avoid, like gluten, soy, lanolin, etc. https://www.skinsafeproducts.com/ It has things like body lotions, lip balm, makeup, etc. and you can search for specific products. Or you can also just click on what...
  4. Thanks for the info. I will be sure to not ever buy that brand. I had looked into gluten-free iron a few times. When I found out I couldn't eat gluten, I already had a bottle of Feosol iron (the red bottle). http://feosol.com/ So I called them and they put me on hold and then came back and told me just one of the three they make was...
  5. I found a tasty treat in the clearance section of Price Chopper today. Cans of macaroons. The were marked down to $3.47 a can. They are certified gluten-free and says so on the front of the can, but I also do not see soy, corn, or xanthan gum in the ingredients. (I also noticed online they have a sugar-free one, but not sure what all the ingredients in...
  6. I was at a Price Chopper today looking for Sir Kensington's condiments. (Thanks to Ennis for that recommendation ) I have been trying to find gluten-free, corn-free, soy-free, xantham gum-free condiments. The Sir Kensington's website has a store locator so that is really helpful. But at this store that is suppose to carry it, I couldn't find it. I was...
  7. Well, I am not finding much help on this online. It seems that cholecalciferol just means a type of vit D. So it doesn't seem to mean what source it is coming from. So I guess unless you see it labeled on the bottle as coming from fish, you might need to call or email the company and ask. Lanolin seems to be a pretty common source for vit D. Thanks...
  8. Does anyone know what it means if a vit d supplement says in the ingredients - it shows "vitamin D3 (as cholecalciferol)" and then other ingredients says, "Other Ingredients: Vegetable Cellulose, Vegetable Stearic Acid. Contains <2% of: Riboflavin, Silica, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate. " Does the word "cholecalciferol" mean if it is from lanolin...
  9. And xanthan-free! I just found something new I am happy about, so I wanted to share with everyone. Larabars are gluten-free and also no corn, soy, or oats. At least in the "original" bars anyway (they have different bars and bites that I have not checked out yet). They have flavors like chocolate chip cookie dough, banana chocolate chip, carrot cake...
  10. I have no idea. I tried looking online too. I did see this, a Walmart page that is suppose to be gluten-free. I was excited at first, but then realize most seem to have corn in them so I can't eat them. But other people here might find some use from this link below. I do not see the Sazon on here though, so either Walmart doesn't carry it, or it's perhaps...
  11. I have no idea. I was going to suggest looking for the phone number on the bottle to call them, but now see from your post that you've tried that, and online. That must be getting very frustrating. It seems if there is any allergy in it, being something used to prep for medical testing, it should list it on the bottle, like how some products will say at...
  12. Thanks for that info. I just found them on amazon. I do have a wool allergy, although some wool I can wear okay and some does make me itch. Last time I had allergy testing was like 25 years ago and it showed an allergy to wool. That's too bad because I am getting a free bottle of D that is gluten-free and soy-free, but I looked and it does mention lanolin...
  13. What are the dairy-free cheeses made from? My concern too is the cost. It's already costing more going gluten-free. Add dairy-free products and I am guessing most of those are pricier too. Some days it gets discouraging. But I do want to feel better.
  14. A gluten-free granola sounds good. I sure hope my stomach can start handling more fiber again soon. Thanks for info on the aminos. Can't wait to get them. The teriyaki will be nice for summer cookouts too. I hope you get all set for the food truck. That would be great.
  15. You could try the pepper and see how you feel. If it bothers you right now, try waiting until your stomach heals more being off gluten and then you could try it again. Or if you have issues with GERD or stomach acid, I heard spicy or hot foods can aggravate that, especially at night. Otherwise, I actually just read that black pepper is good for digestion...
  16. Thank you so much for the link. I was searching online for quite a while last night and getting no luck, and then ended up finding one on the vitamin website I was going to order my magnesium from. I don't know how I missed it. I guess I just had in mind to be looking for a pill or capsule and wasn't even thinking to check the ingredients in the drops...
  17. Thanks for that info. I am seeing a 3-pack on amazon and it has the teriyaki, garlic, and then one called original coconut aminos. Would the original be similar in taste to soy sauce? Also going to their website, their coconut snack bars look good too. Have you had any of those? If so, did you like them. Speaking of bars, I am seeing some called...
  18. I think I remember reading from some of you here that you use some flavorings other than soy, like liquid aminos? At the time I was overwhelmed with getting used to gluten-free eating, so I skipped over that. But now I am curious about it. Is there something that has a similar flavor as soy sauce, but that has no soy in it? What are liquid aminos and do...
  19. Hi there everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows of a vitamin D that is gluten-free and also soy-free? My D is extremely low all the time and so I really need to take supplements, but I am trying to eliminate soy from my diet to see if that helps my bloating issues. I tend to see many vit D's that contain soy or soybean oil in them though. I am desperate...
  20. I have trouble with corn and brown rice flour and so far the only gluten-free pasta I can handle is Taste of Thai rice noodles. They are made with white rice. They are pretty tasty. They seem to get starchy though. I make them and rinse in cold water. Then drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil on them and then reheat them when I am ready to use them. I don...
  21. I don't get anything cut at the deli unless I go to one particular store that will actually clean the slicer for me if I want something. Plus, they apparently sell all gluten-free items except this one loaf thing they sell. Otherwise, I get prepackaged cheese. I think it was just Landolakes cheese I got the other day and the grocery store had a gluten...
  22. I guess everyone is different so you and your husband and child might have to experiment a bit, and all three of you could end up finding foods you are okay with or that bother you. For me, I seem okay with white rice. I have been using Minute Rice and Uncle Ben's. I also enjoy a product called Against the Grain that makes pita breads, rolls, pizza crust...
  23. Does it seem most marinated and plain canned artichoke hearts would be gluten-free? I saw a few gluten-free recipes online that call for artichokes in them, and they don't specify a certain brand or mention getting gluten-free ones (even though they might go out of their way to mention getting a gluten-free pasta in the recipe). So I was wondering if it...
  24. That all looks delicious. Ever since my stomach issues, both broccoli and cauliflower bloat me, but I am hoping once my stomach heals more maybe it will get better. I miss them both as side veggies and in cooking with them too. I had really liked spaghetti sauce on cauliflower. I never thought of ricing broccoli. I bet it was really good. We ended...
  25. Shrimp is so good. I have not had it with sauce though since going gluten-free. I wonder if we'd have to make our own sauce with a ketchup that is safe and hopefully most horseradishes would be safe, but I've never looked at the ingredients in it before. I always assume it's just pure ground horseradish, but now I never assume anything anymore. I...
