  1. Hi there. I was wondering if anyone has eaten products with gellan gum in them? I looked it up and it sounds like it would be safe for gluten-free eating? I try to avoid corn products (including xantham gum) and soy as much as I can (I should probably stop eating that stuff all together), and so I was happy to see the new Artisan Cafe flavored coffee creamers...
  2. Thanks Ennis. There are so many flavors I want to try, and I don't know what to try first. I emailed them and asked if they could consider making more flavors available in their trial sizes. Maybe if more customers ask them that, maybe they will consider it. How fun it would be to be able to get a bunch of different trial sizes to sample. Sadly, not a single...
  3. Ennis, I meant to ask you, are your coffee reviews for this brand online anywhere to read? You also mentioned some flavored drops you recently discovered that you liked and I think had reviewed, and I was wondering about those reviews too.
  4. I forgot to mention, I have been having trouble with high blood pressure and my pulse rate being high lately too, despite being on blood pressure meds. I was wondering if food sensitivities could possibly be causing it, so thanks for sharing that you experience that too. I am thinking I might have an issue with soy also. I am still having stomach problems...
  5. That is really interesting. I saw a holistic dr many years ago (before being diagnosed with gluten sensitivity) because I have been sick my entire adult life since coming down with very bad, and lengthy lasting epstein barr virus. This dr had me drinking an herbal tea she sold for liver health. It was very bitter. I wish I could get it again now and try...
  6. Thank you! They have a lot that sound so good.
  7. Just some info for anyone who likes the imitation seafood, the brand TransOcean is all gluten-free. My husband makes up a seafood salad once in a while and I like it on cloud bread or rice cakes with some lettuce and tomato (or you could use it in a lettuce wrap). Also, has anyone found any flavored coffees or flavoring you can add to coffees that...
  8. I was eating some cream of rice the other day and was thinking with it being so sticky, maybe I could try using it in some baking recipes. Maybe it would help hold things together. So I was just looking online to see if their website happened to have any recipes and I found this: http://www.creamofwheat.com/recipes/cream-of-rice/index.php?recipe=Gluten...
  9. Oh, sorry to hear that. It really is amazing how many digestive issues there are once you start learning about it all. And now I am starting to hear more and more people struggling with one or more of them.
  10. Oh that would not be fun....letting go of home brewing dreams. Our neighbor does that and brings samples over from time to time. He made the best oatmeal stout I've ever had, and I miss knowing I can't even try that again. Have you tried any of the gluten free beers? I haven't. I don't drink often, but it is nice to know you can have a favorite drink...
  11. Thanks, good to know. I just used some in pumpkin pie (no crust) and just wanted to make sure that was not what was bothering me. It seemed safe, but it's hard when sometimes you see varying lists online about a product.
  12. That lemon jello recipe sounds good. I was wondering about jello too, if they are gluten free.
  13. Is anyone sure about if Carnation Evaporated Milk is gluten free? I saw some websites and lists that mentioned just some Carnation being gluten free, like some of the light evaporated milks, etc. but those lists did not include the plain, regular evaporated milk. But then I saw a list that said that all carnation milks are gluten free. I was just wondering...
  14. I have been wondering if spices have been bothering me. I use Mc Cormicks, and I use a lot of spices in my cooking. I also was seeming to feel worse any time I used their vanilla extract, but I am not sure yet. In that brand, Spicely, do you know if the garlic granulates are the same as minced garlic? I am thinking of stopping all spices (and...
  15. That is a good idea to check the chai see package. I never even thought of CC. But yes, I might as well just stop using them for now. I miss having some beer every now and then. I don't drink a lot, but sometimes it just hits the spot. My husband drinks one very day after work and I miss taking sips. So you just parboil the rice, not thoroughly...
  16. Thanks for that info. I had been wondering how just trying a regular recipe would come out if using mostly white rice flour, maybe add a little coconut flour, which seems thicker. I made a banana bread and used those flours, but also added some tapioca and let some chia seeds soak in hot water and put those in too. It came out pretty good. My daughter...
  17. That is a good idea....I already remember the two blood pressure pills and dosages I have been on, and need to now just memorize the newer med now. I keep a food journal, and now I am thinking of adding even non-food items, like if I try a new shampoo, body product, etc. Maybe there are other allergies going on. I already had to start using an allergy...
  18. My pulse went up to 135 one night when I ended up in the ER. Now it is sometimes in the 90's and low 100's but I am having some better days when it's low 80's. I lost five pounds this week and usually I lose a few pounds when I have accidentally had gluten, but I cannot think of any source from food I have accidentally had in the past two weeks. I've been...
  19. Thanks for the info. I think they checked most of those areas in my bloodwork like potassium, etc. I've been eating bananas and I take a magnesium supplement and vit D. I don't have diabetes. They have done a ton of blood work. I have had the bloated stomach with the high blood pressure. I can't remember what my blood pressure reading was last appt and...
  20. I definitely am learning, little by little, about gluten issues and possibly other allergies. From now on just in case I will no longer lick envelopes or stamps. The stamps I licked were not from the post office. You know how sometimes you find sticker type stamps? Or also those stamps when you are filling out Publisher Clearing House entry forms (lol...
  21. Thank you for the advice. I was thinking I might have to do something like that. I am even wondering about spices. I've been using Mc Cormick, but am not sure if they could be causing problems or not. So I think I might have to do bland foods a while just to see. I have heard something about an elimination diet and then you slowly start adding things...
  22. It did dawn on me as I was licking, lol! Like, what am I putting in my mouth? So I sealed an envelope today just dabbing a little water on it. It's funny the things you grow up doing as normal, everyday, no big deal, but when you really think about it, it's gross. Even if it was clean, it's glue. Bleh. And it always tastes awful too. I was hoping it was...
  23. Has anyone had any problems with having really bad high blood pressure due to gluten issues or any other food allergies? Lately my blood pressure is totally out of control and I am on three different meds (amlodipine, losartan, and now a new one I forget the name of). Yet I keep getting episodes of racing heart beat and very high blood pressure and I feel...
  24. I used eggs, plain Greek yogurt, cream of tartar, and a little sugar and vanilla, along with the chocolate chips. I am starting to wonder if I have issues with vanilla (I used McCormicks though) or anything else in the chocolate chips, like maybe corn syrup or something. Or maybe it was not the cookies. I'm having a bad week. I feel like I am grasping...
