I have had 2 biopsies but of the rash itself not the way it should be done for DH. I asked and both times was told “it’s not DH” so they wouldn’t even consider it. I give up

I have ANA drawn which I think they were testing for lupus. I don’t know what else that tests but it was negative. My thyroid also came back good. By looking at my labs alone I’m the picture of heath.

I have been dealing with a rash for over a year now. I have been to multiple doctors who have diagnosed me with everything from scabies, eczema, allergy to a medication, razor burn ?, and Now idiopathic chronic hives. I have thought from the beginning it was something I was eating. I decided to cut out gluten and it got better. However, I was never very strict...

I have been so careful. Or so I thought. I’m not careful with some labels and just assume some things are “safe” I won’t make the mistake again. If gluten is causing this rash I need to know and avoid it. Since I stopped eating it the rash has gone away. I just can’t risk that rash coming back. I can’t. Prednisone worked and I don’t know if it was DH if ...

They tell me it’s not DH. I have not been diagnosed. I’m sorry... I guess this post was confusing. Some HX I got a rash exactly 1 year ago. I was diagnosed with scabies at that time. Treated twice. That wasn’t it. I have been to 2 dermatologist, 2 allergists, and 2 natuapathic doctors. Only one dr (the natuapathic) said DH. She was sure of it after...

I’ve had it biopsied twice. One showed atopic dermatitis the other showed a drug ereption. I can’t get anyone to boipsy for DH.

I just finished 60 of prednisone and had a steroid shot before starting those. I came back from DC with the worst my rash has ever been. Let me first say that I have not been diagnosised. When my steroids started to taper to .5 tabs daily I stated itching. The day after I took my last tab I got a rash on my leg (this is where it always starts). I almost cried...

I have done extensive research and have been to multiple drs for the rash I have (several allergists, a few dermatologists, my PCP) I have been diagonisied with everything from scabies, medication allergy (I don’t take any medication), and eczema. When I do an elimination diet it goes away. When I went on vacation for a week and was eating out every night i...

Darn! I can still the one photo. Hers are blisters not a rash. Mine was more rash like blisters. Hers are sporadic and mine was wide spread.

I have suffered with a rash for about a year. I am currently on prednisone that has cleared it up (for now) I have posted here before... but my question is about my 21 year old daughter. She thought she got bit by a spider. But the blisters have spread. She has it in her ankle, calf, upper leg and buttocks. Mine hasn’t been confirmed as dh but hers looks t...

When I went to the dr he suggested I go on a histamine restricted diet until we figure out exactly what's going on. He gave me a printout on the foods to avoid and I did some research. It seem a lot of the foods are triggers for some of your DH. Anyway, may be something to look into if you aren't sure what's triggering it or why. It's pretty interesting and...

I called another allergist today after being up all night itching. He is running a lot of blood work. One being a celiac panel. I didn't know he was going to run that heck I didn't know I was going to make the appt. I've been using steroid cream on my vaginal area for 2 days. Hopefully it's a small enough amount to not mess Up any results. After this test...

I had an endoscopy today and the dr said everything looked good. He took some biopsies but said "you don't have celiac" I cried. Not out of relief but because it's another doctor (and more money) to not know what's wrong with me. This rash is driving me mad. Literally. I could cut out gluten but what if that doesn't work. Then what? Corn, wheat, soy, dairy...

I jus left the GI doctor and he scheduled an endoscopy with biopsy on Monday. How much time should have passed after a stereo shot for the results to be accurate? I had a steroid shot for a horrible rash on August 4. I can't find this information anywhere. Thank you

Nutritional defiencies?
Jlewisrn replied to Jlewisrn's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thank you. My vitamin D is on the low end of normal. My doctor recommended a supplement. I'm not anemic but have had episodes of being low. I haven't had anything else checked but I was just curious. Thank you -
Does everyone with celiac have nutritional defiencies prior to diagnosis. I know it common but can you have celiac and not be nutritional deficient or anemic?

I had a biopsy on Friday but he biopsied the rash not the skin next to it. I know this is wrong when testing for DH but he said that's not what it is. Can anyone tell me if they had a biopsy of the rash before they knew what it was and what the pathology report said? He just called me and said it is a drug allergy. I only take one medication and I have been...

Well the steriod shot lasted 2 days... the itching and rash is back.. maybe since it didn't last then it's not in my body and I can try to get my dr to do a blood test to check for celiac

Thank you. I have another dermatologist im going to go to and see if I can get different answer. Do people with DH still tear positive with the endoscope? I have an appt with the GI dr at the end of this month. Or is that different and a waste of time. Can someone have DH and not test positive for it that way?

So frustrated!
Jlewisrn replied to Jlewisrn's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thank you. I will try this. I'm desperate for anything. A lot of this seems like it would be at least low gluten because not really eating bread or processed foods. I'm trying to keep my gluten intake normal u too testing is complete -
Yes I have small blisters on some of the areas. It is on both sides of my legs upper and lower. The right lower leg is worse and the left upper leg is worse but it's on both sides. I had more spots pop up in my underarm area (very side of my. Breast) it is also on both sides. My stomach is more in the middle. But everywhere else it's both sides. First biopsy...

I've been itching constantly for 7 months! I've been treated for scabies twice (I'm a a home heath nurse) and eczema. I had my second biopsy today. He said it not DH and wouldn't even test me for it when I asked about it. It's hard to tell in these pictures how it looks. These are pictires taken at different times since Jan. Including today. Taken on different...

Why is everything so difficult? I went to the dermatologist again. A different one from before. I asked about DH. He looked at it and said "that's not what it is. I think you are having a reaction to the sun." There is no way thats what this is!!! I've had it for 7 months now. And it's appearing in different places-including places that don't see the sun...

It's not yeast just itching like everywhere else. I am so hoping for answers. If it's not it at least I can rule that out and move on to finding out what it is. I'm afraid if doesn't suggest to test me for that and I ask he will just think I'm on the "celiac, gluten free" bandwagon. I've already gotten some eye rolls if I mention it.

Thank Matt. I have pretty positive it's something I am eating but I just don't know what. After researching I came across gluten. I'm wanting answers but actually hoping that's not it... I have read to continue to eat gluten so I am but the itching is driving me mad (and my husband. He says I thrash around all night and has been tempted to go to the other...
