  2. HFCS in me causes Dumping Syndrome. My body cannot cope with it. My issues with HFCS is what led doctors toward the celiac diagnosis.
  3. Does anyone else deal with this? Anything really fatty give me really foul smelling gas that makes my eyes burn. I am fine with fish and chicken.
  4. Raises hand - And no I have never had surgery on my gut. High Fructose Corn Syrup can trigger it. My belly makes dangerous noises and then my whole system just empties. If I have been glutened this can happen.
  5. Soda pop wipes me out. I believe it is also caramel color in it that gives me problems too. I get rashes on my scalp from drinking soda pop.
  6. Some people naturally carry fat in the midsection - especially men. So if you are still thick in the middle in the absence of stomach issues that may be your build. Hopefully not. Food ingredients that get the blame for this are simple carbs - especially high fructose corn syrup. You you'll want to eliminate that from your diet and see what happens...
  7. It took me years to get to my natural body weight after going gluten free. I was stick thin for the longest time. I still drop weight when I get sick. Getting your body mass back will take patience. Another possible added benefit of being gluten free - flat stomach. I looked pregnant before I went gluten free. Now I am a healthy weight for my build...
  8. Stuff fried in the same fryer as breaded items -- diarrhea and vomiting that lasts three days. Forget about Subway. I get sick every time I eat there. I'll have to take a look at the gluten digest pills to take before I eat out. All the glutening accidents have happened at restaurants.
  9. I will have a try the fasting next time I get glutened. When I get glutened I just want to lay in bed.
  10. I have a weird system. It system flushes at the drop of a hat because of its sensitivity. I consider that a blessing in disguise. So I will deliberately trigger a flush with a tablespoon of honey with cinnamon or two oranges to move the gluten out of my system. Then I do the mint tea regimen. I wouldn't recommend other trying this unless there system...
  11. I felt just awful for two weeks after going gluten-free. I just laid in bed feeling bloated and with pain under my ribs.
  12. Many of us celiacs deal with this. My itching is often caused by dryness of the skin due to malabsorption of oils. Skin moisturizers resolve the issue for me.
  13. Welcome to the 'club' I get this itching when exposed to gluten. I have to wash my hands after making my husbands sandwiches to prevent it.
  14. For me, full recovery took a year. Hair regrowth started after that.
  15. Since I have been gluten free - 11 years now, the only foods that give me issues are wheat, barley and rye. I can eat anything else.
  16. I am female was was pretty bald for a long time due to celiac disease. Slowly, and it took several years, my hair began to return after being gluten free. 11 years gluten free I have a full very dense scalp of hair and have hair in places on my head, that I don't remember there being hair. I probably had celiac disease all of my life.
  17. I get a 'burning tires' smell now and then. Is this related to gluten? It is extremely foul.
  18. I have calcium nodes in odd places too due to celiac disease. My doctors were not concerned about them because they knew what they were.
  19. I have had a long standing issue off and on with rib pain and a cough that comes and goes. There's also terrible heartburn if I don't eat properly. I believe the cough is related to this. Yes it is related to gluten exposure. This goes away when I stay away from grain products.
  20. I can attest that I have issues with constipation as well. Constipation alternating with diarrhea.
  21. Fructose and High Fructose Corn Syrup. Anything too sweet with it gives me the runs real bad!
  22. I know from experience low gluten is a very bad idea. I have been gluten free for six years. When I am exposed to gluten I get gas, bloating and pin prick bleeding under the skin. Even small amounts of gluten make me sick. People that do not deal with celiac disease or gluten allergies do not understand that even small amounts of gluten can lead to illness...
  23. I have had this issue since childhood and I am now in my fifties. Yes I have been tested for bone marrow diseases and have come up negative. I get these little spots under the areas of skin where it is thin and soft. It happens when it is hot and I have been exposed to gluten. They do clear rapidly. Does any one else experience this?
  24. I have been plagued by Costochondritis off and on. I did not know it from from Celiac disease until I found this thread.
  25. When I consumed gluten sometime my stool would be so hard it was like crayon. Eliminating at times would be difficult. Alternating between that and frank diarrhea.
