Thanks kareng. Yoga is something I've always really loved and I'm pretty sure I'll feel better doing it. I like the flowy kind too, it's almost like a meditation. Slowly sounds good to me. I could put on some quiet music too or do a guided one. Light weights is a nice idea too tessa. It's like doing the things I did before only at a greatly reduced...

Depression feelings when things are quieter?
LexieA replied to LexieA's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Wise words Hobbes. I heard something recently talking about how not to let constant demanding events consume you and stop you from moving towards your dreams. Celiac can definitely take a big chunk and time out of your life but it's not my purpose for being here on the planet. Focus is an excellent remedy to my wandering about crying and stuff. Also I used... -
Depression feelings when things are quieter?

Yeah if I was there I would totally play board games!! You are the most helpful person ever. I've read and used so much of what you've written on here. I don't feel in a place to help much though I could play the forum games or chat in the non celiac area. I never think to. I do help out on some other forums of different topics, but only randomly. Maybe I... -
I feel better in some ways. But I still get tired and I still have some stressful people in my life. I think I'm in this bad cycle and I'm wondering what could break me out of it. What I used to like, light running, cycling, yoga, pilates, light basketball just for fun - even by myself is good, hiking or just goofing around at the park and going on the swings...

Not related to a food necessarily, but more like when I finally get some time to collect my thoughts and the world stops spinning I get a sense of - suddenly seeing the larger picture of what's happened with me for the last year or even my whole life. Instead of just a quiet reflection feeling like I used to get I sometimes get a depressed kind of feeling...

Does anyone take this or any fish oil and do you find it helps you in any way? I haven't taken it for a long time and I'm about to experiment with very small amounts. I stopped because all supplements were making me sick. Or is it a lot of hype about how we need omega 3s? Might it help with energy?

Raw Goats Milk cheese-anyone who can eat this?
LexieA posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I keep going back and forth with dairy. I can't do cow's milk products at all but has anyone who doesn't do well with cow's milk products been able to eat small amounts of goat or sheep milk cheese? I just really need more fat, I'm struggling energy wise. I was thinking of experimenting with small amounts maybe once or twice a week. I want to avoid nuts for... -
Oh, that's great to know!! Thanks!!

Hi Ennis, I had the blood-work that showed high antibodies but I was afraid to have the endoscopy. I have a lot of anxiety issues and I didn't feel like I could cope with it. My antibodies have gone down now however. I've been gluten-free for about 9 months. It seems like you do really well with all the nuts so that makes me feel that maybe it's okay...

I just phoned Spectrum and they do process gluten ingredients in the same building but did say the usual about "quality control" and "there's no chance of gluten contamination." But that it is not certified gluten free. So I'd have to read more about it and people's experiences on here. I see that they process peanut oil too which I can't eat, though I haven...

I'm going to look at these products: nutiva Let's Do Organics coconut products Spectrum Organics coconut oil I'll check on here & their websites for information on gluten. I'll just start very small and see what happens. I'm going to wait a week to calm down and then might try some meat.

I think walking away physically is about the best thing to do sometimes. Not engaging, "nod and smile" is very wise and what I'm endeavoring to do. So maybe a little extra work with a counselor will help me disengage it completely from my mind - till it's just a very small passing cloud. I realize a lot of people have this kind of thing. I know I can turn...

Yes, definitely. I'm very open to doing that. I've seen them before - in fact since high school- but I like the idea of seeing one to do with eating disorders. Having my stomach in knots from emotional stuff doesn't seem the best thing for digestion I agree. It has really helped me before too and given me a sense of relief, balance and normality. I think...

I'm not completely sure where to put this question. I'll put it here for now. I'm underweight. I have zero problem not having or wanting gluten products. However, my weight dips every time I am under stress or get sick from other foods or for example I just had the flu. I have a scathingly critical family and an unfortunate past history with someone...

LexieA replied to LexieA's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
That sounds great @Zodi1993! I'll look at that brand too. It's really reassuring to read about it working so successfully. This thread is making me so hungry! I think I'll order one this weekend. Thanks so much for sharing that. -
Bread Machines for gluten-free breads?

Haha, yeah it's a nice Japanese cultural thing maybe to feel extra happy when the rice is cooked! Also it has "fuzzy logic" which strangely makes me feel I can relate to it. Like it was going to take 60 minutes but at the last minute it decided to add on 5 minutes, lol. Pretty much how I operate. That sounds SO nice about the house smelling good. Luckily... -

I'm sorry I just got back here - I came down with the flu for the first time in 3 years so I've been delirious for a few days! Thank you for this - it has excellent information and details about each of these bread machines & specifically for making gluten-free bread. I've saved that & I'll feel more sure when I order something for having read it... -

Yay!! That is excellent! I've got a Zojirushi rice maker that I adore. Really I adore it. It plays music when the rice is done - cute little songs that even my cat looks happy when he hears it! So I am familiar with that brand but I didn't know they made bread machines. I love that it actually has a gluten-free setting. And that you are so happy with it... -

News: Celiac.com: Studies Show Risks of Gluten-Free Diet
LexieA replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
@Victoria1234 It's basically saying, if I'm reading it right, that whole grains are "good for your heart" because they have a lot of minerals and vitamin D, folate, thiamine, riboflavin and niacin, calcium. Also it's saying a gluten-free diet doesn't get enough of these trace vitamins/minerals. I don't understand this part: "A gluten-free diet may adversely... -
I was wondering if bread machines work for gluten free baking. I did google but didn't find a lot. I have read a LOT about baking but haven't been well enough to try it yet, but I'm getting close. Also we are getting a new oven at my house but not for maybe 6 weeks and I don't have anywhere else to bake except an outdoor grill right now. From what I understand...

Hi, I know this might be a side issue but could you be dehydrated? I've become more aware about my electrolyte balance and tend to have lower blood pressure so I need to drink plenty of water or broth or (homemade) juice plus lots of vegetables in a day to stay hydrated. You probably already know but dehydration can cause dizziness, lightheaded feelings...
