In fact it is the DH that tells me first I have been glutened- with 45 minutes the itching and burning starts and I need to immediately take an antihistamine to get it to calm down to the bearable level and help stop the rash from spreading so much.   2. Cracker Barrel does have a very few gluten "free" items- mostly breakfast items, salad and vegetables. However they do say to avoid anything grilled in case of cross contamination. So that then eliminates several of their gluten-free offerings such as grilled chicken tenders, grilled fish and grilled ham. I am very sensitive but have never had a problem...
  3. I also have DH, so if I ingest gluten, within 20-30 minutes I am itching and feeling stinging situation that continues into breakouts. I usually go ahead and take benedryl to somewhat calm it, but will still have skin issues for days, just less intense. The digestive issues come 10-12 hours later usually.
  4. For me, the DH rash was what lead my Dr. to have me tested for celiac. Since I have IBS, I was thinking that was what was causing my stomach issues- and I was so bloated that I looked pregnant. It is still my DH that lets me know, I have somehow encountered gluten/cross contamination. My skin will start burning and itching within an hour of consuming gluten...
