8 year old suffering with dizziness and back pain

This is out in left field but gluten, like mercury poisoning, only becomes a medical issue if you consume it. -
8 year old suffering with dizziness and back pain
Wheatwacked replied to CatCann's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Welcome to the forum CatCann, Absolutely it's ok to post. The ultimate test of whether it is the gluten is that she improved without gluten and the doctors are stumped. All of her symptoms are common complaints seen here. stomach pains for years off gluten and milk. It worked! Could also be Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity... -
I am so sorry to hear that he has relapsed. I think knitty kitty is right about the nutrition. If you want I have a spreadsheet that can calculate nutrition intake from a list of ingredients and quantities eaten through the day. It would help isolate any specific vitamins and minerals lacking. Best wishes. I know this time is stressful to you. ...

Please help, mass in the abdomen

The choline will help with the bile problem, the BM problem and the Gilberts syndrome. Also, energy, brain fog. The scary thing about Celiac Disease is that between the autoimmune response and the ensuing vitamin and mineral deficiency it can mimic some 200 or more other symptoms. The medical professionals look for diseases that have pharmocologic... -
Hi Jgrace88 and thanks for your post. Yes, the panic attacks and gastroenteritis are symptoms often mentioned here and that are eventually diagnosed as Celiac Disease. Any other symptoms? If you need a medical diagnosis to validate a gluten free diet then before starting gluten free you should request from your doctor to run a full Celiac Disease...

Bitters for digestion?
Wheatwacked replied to AnnaNZ's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Not just safe. Beneficial. The Safe Tolerable upper limit for choline is 3500 mg. They set that because the side effects occur at around 7000 mg. The side effects are fishy body odor and lowered blood pressure. Have you noticed more pain after eating fats vs carbs? Without enough choline, your bile gets thick. Many have had gallbladder... -
Bitters for digestion?
Wheatwacked replied to AnnaNZ's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
All my life. I was a "colicky" baby. Picky eater. Hypochondriac. Mouthbreather. Underweight. Underacheiver. ADD. Anorexic. Alcoholic from 1984 until I started gluten free. And more. I learned not to bother complaining because there was "nothing wrong". When I did take meds, they either did not work or made me sicker. My son was biopsy diagnosed as an... -
Bitters for digestion?

When I was a kid there was coke, and Ginger ale was soothing. For breakthroughs Alka seltzer, [aspirin and bicarbonate] for about 4 hours relief. Fun fact. aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. Salicylic acid is the essential little known vitamin B11. For the pain in your gut take choline, phosphatidyl choline is the form in food so does not have to be processed... -

Bitters for digestion?
Wheatwacked replied to AnnaNZ's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Last summer, in addition to the 10,000 IU a day I spent 3 hours a week mowing, shirtless and no protection and it rasised my 25 hydroxy D to 97 ng/ml. Normal range here is 30 ng/ml to 150 ng/ml. ( 75 nmol/L to 375 nmol/L ). I'll repeat this one again: "In the US there are only about a million cases of skin cancer so it works for that. Unfortunately... -
Bitters for digestion?

I guessed right. 57 nmol/L is adequate if you only consider rickets, the only effect the nutrititional boards accept for making their decisions. You may not have rickets, but your immune system is seriously compromised. I keep mine at 200 nmol/L by taking 250 mcg (10,000 IU). Have been since 2015. 200 nmol/L is the same as 80 ng/ml. Even... -

Welcome AnnaNZ, Sounds like you have a good doctor. The fact that you had improvement on GFD indicates that you have either Celiac Disease or Non Celiac Gluten Sensivity. A few weeks on a gluten free diet according to some researchers should not have affected your antigens. People still test positive after months of gluten free. Besides, you... -
Anhidrosis (inability or slow to sweat)
Wheatwacked replied to Dtoc's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I wear contact lenses (extended wear, bifocal) and tolerate them well since 1973 (daily wear hard lenses back then. I would have to take them out to clean the protein buildup at least every two weeks and replace them every two months. I found that taking them out caused me more irritation than leaving them in. Since starting gluten free in 2014 I no longer... -

Welcome to the forum GlutenMorgan. If you are following a "healthy" diet using the guidelines developed over the past 50 years that liver, red meat and eggs are bad you will most likely, along with 90% of the people following that advice, are not getting enough choline in your diet. It takes 10 cups daily of cooked brocolli or similar vegetable... -
Increasing vitamin D may help with B12 and that will help with iron.Eating fermented pickles, not quick pickles made with vinegar will help populate your gut with benefial lactobacillus which will enhance your lactose persistance. All of the above posts have good information, and I'll give you some specific steps from my recovery, in addition, to maybe quicken your healing. An appointment with a Nutritionist familiar with Celiac Disease would be helpful to you. You have malnutrition and that is why the doctors are baffled. Take a thiamine supplement or benfothiame...

Bloodwork Results/Diagnosing
Wheatwacked replied to Barmstrong1's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hopefully it will be an endoscopy of the small intestine and they take several biopsies specifically looking for celiac disease and not just a gastrosopy (stomach). Many are told to continue eating gluten because their tests just are inconclusive according to the accepted cutoffs. It seems 10 years to finally get a Celiac Disease diagnosis is not uncommon... -

Budesonide is a corticosteroid that like prednisone. It's advantage is that is doesn't seem to cause Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency. If it helps, take it. As you heal from the Gluten Free Diet and replete your vitamins and minerals and start to store some, your need for the Budesonide will go down. Not remission, but healing. I needed 30 mg and... -

Help with recent test results
Wheatwacked replied to Ellis Aust's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Ellis Aust. I agree with trents and would double down. An endoscopy with Celiac biopsies may show how much damage in your small intestine. Many have said they are negative for blood tests, yet are positive on biopsy. And vice versa. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies to look for. Liver enzymes - insufficient choline intake. Especially... -

Quite the journey. I emphasize with you and am sorry for your losses. The key to recovery has to start by fixing your nutritional deficiencies. Since you are on a very restricted diet, and I truly understand your hesitation to change anything you need to fortify your diet. Perhaps a doctor who specializes in malnutrition can help you. But find someone... -

Microscopic Lymphocytic Colitis
Wheatwacked replied to Teresa Dean's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I did not mean to say you don't have MLC but that they are missing the cause: malnutrition due to (at this point )assumed) Celiac Disease caused malabsorption syndrome and food avoidance. What I think is to start GFD and vitamin replenishment to start healing. When you are feeling better, then go back and do the Gluten Challenge to verify. If you improve... -

This could be a misdiagnosis of Choline Deficiency. primary source is eggs, beef and liver. Diahrrea will cause Potassium depletion. Virtually everyone who is sick has low vitamin D. NHANES study, vitamin C deficiency or depletion existed in 32% of women ages 25–44 in the US. As knitty kitty said, it looks like a gluten challenge would do more h...
