Amlodipine: Doubled urine output, dehydrated eyes interfering with contact lenses. No effect on BP Lisinopril: persitant cough caused inguinal hernia. No effect on BP Hydroxolene: neuromuscular effect large muscles. Shortly after taking I would be stooped over and shuffling with feet pointing out. I call it Old Man Shuffle. It's because our high carb diets have killed off most of our benificial bacteria. In adults lactobacillus is the main source of lactase. It eats fiber and excretes lactase. Homemade pickles and sourkraut will rectify this. Also commercial dairies use palmitic acid food supplements and that changes the omega 6 to omega 3 ratio from 1:1 in 100% pasture fed...

Wheatwacked replied to Dawn s D's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
yup. If you look at choline in terms of egg equivilancies, the minimum daily is 4 eggs. (Or 10 cups of cooked broccolli if you are vegan)The US Safe upper limit is is 24 large eggs. 3500 mg. Side effects rarely seen until 7000 mg. Most common are low BP and "fishy" body odor. MORE THAN METHYLATION: THE CRUCIAL ROLE OF CHOLINE WITH DR JONATHAN BORTZ ... -
Advice please
Wheatwacked replied to Dawn s D's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Dawn. As long as they are testing you do need to continue gluten, more is better because the test results depend on finding damage. Biliary Gastritis is caused by bile from the gall bladder backing up into the stomach, and low stomach acid allows the bad bacteria to survive. Liver and gall bladder issues may be caused by not enough Choline from eggs... -

First I'll mention that your high bilirubin could be a deficiency of Choline, B12, folate and or B6. High Homocystene levels, which are not a part of regular CBC and lipid tests are and indicator of those deficiencies. Your TSH is at the low end. My hair is filling in. I looked into this when I started gluten free Thanksgiving 2014 because I noticed... -
Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!
Wheatwacked replied to Aussienae's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Are you having any digestive issues? One of the most performed operatons in the US is for gall bladder. If you are not getting enough choline in your diet it can cause dysfunction in your fat metabolism Even though western medicine says no Gall bladder pain can cause back, hip and sciatic nerve pain. Gallbladder meridian often play a role in the energetic...- 65 replies

Does anyone else in you family have symptoms of Celiac Disease? There are lots of symptoms that are often put off as "just the way it is". Headaches, stomach problem. DH, and around 200 more. https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/what-are-the-symptoms-of-celiac-disease-r1090/page/12/#comment-22626 Once you start a gluten free diet the symptoms should...

I just remembered watching a podcast by Dr Mark Hyman in which he in passing mentioned successfully using activated charcoal on a patient to absorb toxins and sweep them out. Found this link for you, there are many more. In the ER they use it instead of vomiting for caustic poisoning. Natural Peptic Ulcer Relief -
I counted 19 different symptoms (of the hundreds there are, google it.) that bothered me for years. The first to improve was sleep apnea starting from the first night, age 63. After a week of GFD my 30 year stint as a hard core alcoholic just ended. After a few months my prostate hypertrophy, diagnosed when I was 21 years old shrank at 63 years old. Never...

Biopsy testing in Bay Area?
Wheatwacked replied to bhlowe's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Another complication of Celiac Disease not mentioned very often. When I was a kid I used to say I had compartents in my stomach. The pancake and milk compartments always filled before the bacon and eggs compartment, but I had to finish the pancakes before seconds on the other. Our bodies are smarter than our cultures. -

I did not know that. I may try it. I am often on the wrong side of that 50%. There is no upper limit on magnesium in food. It's the supplements that need to be watched. Notice the UL is less than the EAR for males over 30. Here is a chart that may be helpful. Happy Holidays. VitaminRDA Upper -

Boil a pot of water a few inches deep with a teaspoon of vinegar (or not). Break the eggs one at a time into a large spoon and settle into the water. Scoop out when cooked and cool in a pot of ice water. -

Coscochondritis: inflammation of the cartilage that joins your ribs to your breastbone Thats just giving a name to a specific spot of inflammation, a subset of all your other inflammations. I don't believe each of your complaints is triggered by separate causes. The GFD and thiamine may resolve most of them without other interventions, other than malabsorbtion... -

Other possibilities are endometriosis or ovarian cancer. Is the gluten free diet helping? It is a shame on our medical systems that doctors don't consider quality of life while they try to prove you are not sick from gluten. Even if not Celiac, it could be Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity but that diagnosis requires ruling out Celiac first then seeing if the... -
Whether you are determined to be cllinically deficient in Thiamine or not, there is not a limit to how much you can safely take. I take 500 mg of thiamine hcl a day but started with 2000 mg a day to build up reserves quickly. I also take 500 mg of B3 nicotinic acid (I got used to the flush from B3 Nicotinic Acid. It is not considered a health risk. While...

Biopsy testing in Bay Area?
Wheatwacked replied to bhlowe's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Brad How old are the boys and what do they think of the idea of gluten free? Has the rest of your family been tested? While a gluten free lifestyle is difficult, the health benefits are immense and it is no more difficult than a Jew eating Kosher or Muslim Halal. You have evidence of three symptoms: stomach issues, iron deficient, and underweight... -
Can TMJ cause salivary gland pain?
Wheatwacked replied to cristiana's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I lost a molar (coincidentally lower left jaw) from ignoring an old loose filling. After having it extracted my teeth shifted, and my bite became even, finishing the job the orthodontist started when I was a kid. Right about that time my TMJ got better. -
Many people find gluten to be addictive and go through withdrawal (jonesing) that can be rough. Consider thinking about what makes those foods you love so comforting. Much I believe is successful marketing strategies, some happy memories. For the transistion I made 8 years ago I ate anything, fritos, potato chips, watermelon. Your goal at first like a recovering...

Celiac Pregnant week 10 and got glutened I am terrified
Wheatwacked replied to Erika.ON's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Barley is 8% gluten. Wheat is 85% gluten. With luck you may not be activated yet against the gluten in barley. Or your natural stomach acid neutralized the small amount and your vitamin D is high enough to dampen the response of the Celiac genes. -
I can see that. Our inflammatory Western diet or antibiotics or malnutrition kills off the benificial bifidobacteria and lactobacillus. Without enough vitamin D to modulate the autoimmune system, ie. shut it down when the job is done, the Celiac antibodies run amuck. Digestion of Intact Gluten Proteins by Bifidobacterium Species: Reduction of Cytotoxicity...

Sort of like telling a recovering alcoholic he can drink once a month. Gluten is addictive. Try to come up with a diet that is gluten free, but not a gluten free reproduction of a SAD diet. His tastes will change. At the same time it would be wonderful if the whole family switched. Just pretend you've moved to a country where Wheat is not available. When...

Sorry about the delay on your posts. You might look at Dr Hyman's "Pegan Diet". It's a combo of Paleo and Vegan. He is head of the Cleveland Clinic Functional Medicine Department. A Celiac antibody screening might make sense if only to prove gluten is not an issue. Me too, but I am 71, 6' 2". Maxed out at185 but that was all belly fat. I always... -

The dietary requirements for potassium is 4.7 grams per for all over 4 years old. On a 2000 calorie diet you should be eating 2.5 mg potassium per calorie and sodium less than half that. Unless you are on potassium saving diuretics or kidney disease. Surprisingly, even salted potato chips fit this ratio. The WHO considers potassium deficiency a health concern...
