Solgar B1 as Thiamine HCL, 500 mg per cap. I am taking 2000 mg three times a day and it seems to be improving vision issues and peripheral neurapathy and stamina. It seems like my trigger point is 6000 mg/day. I am hoping that between the increase in prednisolone to 15 mg and the B1 it will pull my glucose and A1C back into normal territory. Fasting blood...

Test results question

It seems no matter what immune system dysfunction you have, you likely are difficient in vitamin D. It's almost like government and the health care industry encourages it. Until the industrial revolution we spent daytime in the sun creating vitamin D for immediate use and for storage for the winter. There is a homeostatic response (tanning and regulatory... -
I had to keep increasing vitamin D with no noticible effect until the third day at 10,000IU a day the effect kicked in and totally changed my sense of well being and mood and a case of long term Seasonal Affective Disorder no longer bothers me. I seriously looked at the bottle and exclamined: This is sunshine in a bottle!". If I stop taking it my blood level...

Malabsorption syndrome due to Celiac Disease would cause the deficiencies and the deficiencies in B12, Folate, Choline and/or B6 the reason for insufficient methylization of homocysteine. Take B12, eat beans for folate, take choline (or eat lots of eggs, milk and lean beef) and take B6. why folate from food, not folic acid supplement? "a 2018 prospective... -
Ask him to check you for Adrenal Insufficiency. If you say adrenal fatigue he will laugh at you. Not enough cortisol (prednisolone is a metabolyte of cortisol) can allow arthriis to develope. cause the pain. Gluten causes inflammation. My black lab was born with congenital hip dysplasia. As a preventive measure he was on prednisone 10 mg every other...

Homocysteine is the toxic sludge of our metabolism. It is broken down (methylated) by Folate with B12 as a helper, Choline, and vitamin B6. Here's an interesting article. Association of metformin, elevated homocysteine, and methylmalonic acid levels and clinically worsened diabetic peripheral neuropathy -
Here is a list of foods to eat refered to as the Fasano Diet. Products allowed/disallowed in the Gluten Contamination Elimination Diet (GCED), targeting the elimination of gluten cross-contamination The Haas diet for me is helpful when I get anorexic and don't eat enough. Note that he proposes cottage cheese and whey, but avoid milk. Most milk in the...

I can't fit 10 cups of anything in my stomach😀 How about a 3 ounce top round steak, 2 eggs and and only 2 1/2 cups of broccoli for breakfast? Egg, hard boiled, 1 large egg. 147 mg per serving. 27% DV. Beef top round, separable lean only, braised, 3 ounces. 117 mg per serving. 21% DV. Broccoli, chopped, boiled, drained, ½ cup. 31...

Estimates are that only 10% eating a western diet eat enough choline. Primary sources are liver, red meat and eggs. Milk also. All foods we were encouraged to cut back on for cholesterol control, but to me it seems it hasn't helped. But lots of people with gall bladder surgeries. Three eggs a day or 10 cups of cooked brocolli to meet the minimum RDA for...

Does eating gluten cause bed wetting?
Wheatwacked replied to Datsanne's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks. At one point we were considered the healthiest generation. Then the best NASA could do nutritionwise was TANG! and warm ice cream. Our diets went from 3:1 omega 6 to omega 3 to 20:1. No wonder everyone is inflamed. 100% Pasture Fed milk is 1:1 whiile commercial milk is 5:1 and the pasture fed tastes like milkman milk.🐄 Have a nice rest of La... -
Does eating gluten cause bed wetting?
Wheatwacked replied to Datsanne's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Good morning @OldWithCeliac. You nailed it. Around 50% of the population has at least one of the genes recognized for Celiac. Only 2% of them have acute symptoms and get diagnosed. 10% of the total population are diagnosed with Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity. IE. test negative for Celiac but symptoms improve with GFD. The two books I found most educational... -
Does eating gluten cause bed wetting?

I have had prostate hypertrophy since I was 21 in 1972. It has completely resolved since GFD in 2014. I still have posteral urgency. Anytime I change position I have to pee. The Inulin soluable fiber I recently started seems to be helping. I think less belly fat pressing on my bladder? At 10,000 IU a day it took me from 2015 to 2021 to get my vitamin... -
I am not a doctor. If you don't eat gluten because of the effects, why is ok to take a medication that has the same effect on you as gluten, whether or not it has gluten is irrelevant in my mind. How low is your vitamin D plasma level? There is a condition called Seasonal Affective Disorder. It is winter depression due to low vitamin D (no UV rays)...

Wondering if there’s anyone else like me
Wheatwacked replied to Jamie678's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Here's thought: before eating that next donut. Ask yourself, "what's in it for me?" WIIFM. There was a saying in the weight loss community, "10 minutes on the tongue, a fife time on the hips."🤑 -

Dear @reidertower. I am so sorry for your loss. My wife had 3 miscarriages before our son was born in 1976. He had an acute reaction as soon as he was weaned. He looked like a white Biafran baby when they switched from rice to wheat for famine relief. A few months of Nutramegen and weaned to GFD and he is today a strong healthy professional life guard. Kathy... -
That is it in a nutshell. Once done with diagnostics for Celiac you need to be totally gluten free. Stick to foods from the Haas or Fasamo diets at first. They have good results. Even if you still need to continue eating gluten to complete testing for Celiac Disease you can start eating these foods for a quicker, healtier recovery, just make sure You...

Confused and not sure next steps
Wheatwacked replied to Lashley9's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes. A diet free of gluten is not a fad diet and you don't need a doctors permission . Agribusiness would like you to believe it is an essential part of a healthy diet but other than carbs the only vitamins and menerals it supplies is added synthetics. My wife had endometriosis but we were in denial. These articles on Gluten Centric Culture may... -

This article may help. Gluten will definately cause brain fog. I got stupider year by year as I aged. Starting for sure at 10 years old until GFD at which point I am improving in spurts. By the way stimulants make me sleepy and antidepressants make me twitch. Something to do will ADD. Pediatrition said to give me coffee for breakfast and bedtime when I was...

At last you're here now. Get lots of vitamin D. The plasma level of healthy lifeguards is around 70 ng/ml at the end of summer. Get it tested if you can. Eat foods with potassium. In the US the recommend daily amount is 4700 grams per day or more. If you eat 5 grams of potassium (not supplements) a day it is easy to keep track and you'll be eating foods that...

The problem is that no one really knows. Over 40% of the population have one or more genes associated with Celiac Disease, yet only 1% become acute leading to a diagnosis. 10% are diagnosed with Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity and don't have those Celiac genes. Low Vitamin D seems to be common in the autoimmune community. The age old question: Does Celiac...

Some tests that may help. Blood plasma vitamin D. Vitamin D modulates the autoimmune response and also has a great effect on depression and general well being. More research is indicating that the current recommended level of greater than 29 ng/ml the level recommended to avoid rickets and osteomalacia is the bottom of the barrel. The healthy level is closer...

Hi and welcome. The poster may not respond. It can take years. Doctors have to treat specific symptoms and malnutrition is at the bottom of their list. For example, gall bladder problems are frequently treated with surgery rather than treating the nutritional issue of not enough choline due to malabsorption caused by Celiac, or poor diet. There are...
