Drizzling Witch Hazel in my ear helps me when my ears bother me. My understanding is a biopsy diagnosis of DH is as good as a dx of Celiac Disease. It needs special technique which a dermatologist familiar with DH would know. At least save a long trip. "DH is considered the specific cutaneous manifestation of celiac disease, and the most recent...

Choline and Folate are needed to prevent neural tube defects. Iodine to avoid cretanism. Maternal Vitamin D can effect your baby for life. I start to spasm and jerk on SSRi tranquilizers, get calm on amphetemines. Go old school and see how he does on coffee. Coffee puts me to sleep. Baseball is good. My son was diagnosed when he was weaned. By kindergarden as predicted when he was diagnosed with Celiac, we started him on Ritalin. The results were amazing. The same kid who couldn't focus on putting on socks in the morning, 15 minutes after taking a Ritalin was being helpful. He was on Ritalin everyday through High School. He didn't like the way it made...

Cigarettes have gluten?
Wheatwacked replied to itarachiu's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Any chance of Covid? All of the symptoms I was told would improve if I stop smoking finally did when I started GFD. If its physical contact with the filter paper, try a cigarette holder.😊 -
And straight to the point: "However, a study of 2,012 participants – published in the American Journal of Public Health –found no statistically relevant association between 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25 (OH)D) serum level in the range of 20 to 100 ng/mL and the incidence of kidney stones." Vitamin D Does Not Contribute to Kidney Stones, Study Asserts Oct...

I figured you'd have seen that. One study I read pointed out that in those results Calcium was also supplemented and questioned could the Calcium have been the factor. After all it is Calcium Oxalate. "There remains concern, however, that increasing vitamin D intake even by 400 IU/d increases the risk for kidney stones, especially in patients with a...

When my wife was pregnant back in 1976 it was recommended she drink non alcoholic "black beer" for its folate. It is full of B vitamins. Unfortunately all those B vitamins are wrapped in gluten. If I might ask, do you know your vitamin D plasma? One sign of D toxicity is stones.

In patients with celiac disease, treatment with a gluten-free diet lowers stone incidence comparably to control levels probably not your best source of medical advice. Hope ours at least makes more sense. 😄 Were the bubbles supposed to jiggle them loose? Then they would still have to pass through, leaving I think a trail of pain through your ki...

My wife Kathy had from childhood allergies, asthma, rosacia multiple miscarriages, endometriosis and died after three rounds of ineffective chemotherapy for ovarian cancer back in 2005. She was never diagnosed but Dr Fine's theory that moms antibodies triggered my son's Celiac so when he was weaned and introduced to wheat he immediately reacted. Six months...

The mouth sores and swollen gums could be scurvy, vitamin C deficiency. The upper limit is set at 2000 mg a day, but Dr Linus Pauling, essentially the father of vitamin C, was taking 8000 mg a day when he died at 93. He recommended 2000 mg a day minimum. Eight ounces of peeled naval orange will cover for the minimum RDA of 125 mg needed to prevent scurvy...

"With lactose intolerance, you can still eat cheese, but choose carefully. Hard, aged cheeses like Swiss, parmesan, and cheddars are lower in lactose. Other low-lactose cheese options include cottage cheese or feta cheese made from goat or sheep's milk." https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/ss/slideshow-dairy#:~:text=With lactose intolerance%2C you can... -

Misinformation. The industry would like us to believe because their profitability is at stake. -
To compare symptoms and what I think worked for me: Anxiety, adhd, depression - increase vitamin D blood level to 80 ng/ml; take 5 mg of Lithium Orotate a day. migranes - I've been lucky I guess. Never had. High BP - Increase potassium intake to DV of 4700 mg a day. That way even with the built in high sodium in the American diet you get...

My 7 year old was just diagnosed

I'll jump in and answer that. All of the above. And there is the boredom of waiting on the seat for something to happen, while there is so much going on elsewhere. On the GFD he will learn to recognize when it is time to go now that the opiod effect is removed. 😊 -
the point of the gluten challange is to eat enough gluten to make you sick enough so the tests will show that you are sick. If you are successfully navigating our gluten flush world, yes you will not "pass" the test. In my opinion Celiac Disease is not so much a disease, like Covid or measles, but more of a poisoning. Doctors don't learn very much...

For the most part once you have healed the malabsorption improves. Unfortunately the western diet itself is often nutrient deficient because so many calories are spent on carbs with little nutrional value. Other tests to ask for: vitamin D - high enough levels can moderate the autoimmune response. "The discovery of the vitamin D receptor in multiple... -
4% Fat cottage cheese is Celiac Disease friendly. Cottage Cheese and Red Leaf Lettuce salad, once considered a punishment meal for fat people turns out to be very nutritious. "Since the 1960s, when experts started advising people to eat less fat—based on the belief that a high-fat diet led to a high-fat body—obesity has skyrocketed. Recent evidence sug...

@Summer M GOOD JOB! After 7 years it will take some time for him to realize that he now has control. I venture to guess he also has ADD. By the time he realizes he has to go...opps! too late. When my son was diagnosed as an infant at weaning (1976), his doctor told us that when he went to kindergarden it would not take long for the teachers to ask... -

Glad you found us. Only 1% get diagnosed Celiac, but 10% are diagnosed Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity. Many here have gone through years of repeated tests and treatments for diseases they don't have before results of the tests reflect their reality. To diagnose NCGS first they exclude Celiac, then show improvement on Gluten Free Diet. Yuu don't need...
