Agreement with trents and RMJ. In fact you should go hog wild on gluten until the endoscopy. The more damage the more likely they'll find it. It does'nt matter positive blood or endoscopy. Either one positive is not a misdiagnosis. Some people with Dermetitis Herpetiformis, the dermatologic celiac disease, test negative for both blood and endoscopy... -

Possible Celiac Disease
Wheatwacked replied to milo2007's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes the damage can be repaired if you also fix the nutrient deficiencies inherent in the Western diet as recommended by the government agencies. If you don't need an official diagnosis removing Gluten alone, if you are Celiac Disease, stops the ongoing damage from getting worse, but does not address the malnutrition. It seems to me that most doctors... -

Thiamin Deficiency. Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome is an unusual type of memory disorder due to a lack of thiamin (vitamin B1) requiring immediate treatment. It most often happens in people with alcohol use disorder and malnutrition. Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome Any reason that vitamin b1 (thiamine) makes my hallucinations go away if I take it regularly... -

Some quotes from Google Search. A Question in logic. ADD are low in dopamine. Dopamine is good for them. So why is sugar bad? Keeping in mind that there is a difference between "sugary foods" and sugar that is basically ignored in the literature and research. Specifically, sugar stimulates dopamine in the brain, as well as opioid receptors, which... -

Fair question. No to both and I don't believe confirmation bias is at issue. It works for me. It might work for others, so I share. Trying it has no irreversible effect and it is cheap. Without sugar, just no energy. With sugar have focused energy. High triglyerides and cholesterol seems to indicate that those systems don't work right in me. Runs... -

Thanks for reprinting this Scott. I found this intriguing: Murilo, While I agree wholly about eliminating "sugary foods", eliminating sucrose is a mistake. I've spent the last nine months working with my doctor to lower my blood sugar, much of it as a zombie or recovering from the medications. It seems I am one of those people who... -

Hello Matt, You don't say how you were diagnosed, but I assume at your age it was verified by damage to your small intestine found by endoscopic visualization or biopsy. That needs to heal. Afterwards, you can experiment with ‘may contain’ and ‘made in a factory' foods. -

"While I'm at it" divulging random information. The last time I took D was May 10, 2024. Fasting blood tests tomorrow morning. Until now if I went any length of time my first noticible symptom is that I would withdraw, resent the phone ringing, not read email for weeks and horizontal surfaces become cluttered. Unexpectedly since I increased... -

I rebuilt by gut biome with homemade fermented dill pickles. The lactobacillus excretes lactase in exchange for room and board, allowing me to once again drink three or four glasses of milk a day. A good nutrient source including potassium (DV 4700 g a day which an area concern worldwide for deficiency. Who started the rumour that milk is not good for... -

Vitamin D Is Not as Toxic as Was Once Thought: A Historical and an Up-to-Date Perspective It goes back to a manufacturing error in a baby formula around London in early 1950's resulting in an epidemic of infant deaths. As a result the UK passed laws banning vitamin D suppliments in food, and all but three countries followed suit. The... -

10,000 IU is 250 mcg. Read checked myself with the bottle lable. My last two tests were 93 ng/ml in December and 90 ng/ml. I'm getting about 3 hours S Florida midday sun riding my mower in bathing trunks (shoes and socks of course for safety). Getting a nice tan. 80 ng/ml is equivalent to 200 nmol/L the measurement system used mostly outside the US. ... -

Try Choline. Eating eggs, liver, beef, dairy, or supplementing. There are three essential vitamin paths to methylation. B6 rda is 2 milligrams. B9 Folate the rda is 400 micrograms and requires B12. Choline, formerly know as B4. The rda is 450 mg. Why did it lose status as a B vitamin? Probably a good story there. Clearly... -

Food sourced is better. But I have periods of anorexia so the pills guaranty that I have at least a sufficient baseline intake. I as eat that nutrient reliably I stop supplementing. I buy Durham Deluxe Mixed Nuts at my local supermarket. Apparently the Deluxe in the title indicates Brazil Nuts. Over the last six months I've increased my iodine... -
Advice regarding symptoms
Wheatwacked replied to Kittycat28's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I like to think of it as amazing that one ingredient (gluten) can cause so many different symptoms. I had improvement in 19 different symptoms in my first few years of gluten free diet. Choline is essential for fat digestion. In 2011 the European Food Safety Athority authorised a number of choline-related health claims. It was concluded that a cause... -
How is your vitamin D level? Vitamin D deficiency is common with Celiac Disease. Decreased expression of vitamin D receptor may contribute to the hyperimmune status of patients with acquired aplastic anemia "In conclusion, decreased expression of VDR might contribute to the hyperimmune status of AA and appropriate vitamin D supplementation could partly...

Hi Kathleey. How old is your son, now? How long was he doing well before this? If he is not getting enough eggs, milk, beef, or liver in his diet he will be deficient in choline. Choline is an essential nutrient that can cause gall bladder type symptoms. 90% of the doctors do not know what choline is and 90% of the western population do not... -

Alka-Seltzer is an effervescent antacid and pain reliever first marketed by the Dr. Miles Medicine Company of Elkhart, Indiana, United States. Alka-Seltzer contains three active ingredients: aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) (ASA), sodium bicarbonate, and anhydrous citric acid. Salicylic acid is used as a food preservative, a bactericide, and an antiseptic... -
Weak Positive Test
Wheatwacked replied to SuzanneL's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes. Children recover more quickly than adults. Adults take 6 months to several years to heal, depending on your vitamin status. If you eat gluten until the draw it may still show positive. Contact the doctor and let her know you've been gluten free. She may want to put it off a few weeks if you can tolerate it. What test did the allergist do? What... -
There might be an anticlumping agent added to the rice flour. I can't eat Snyders Gluten free pretzels at bedtime. I wake two hours later and have to take an Alka-Seltzer. By the way salicylic acid was vitamin B11 until some beaurocraft decided it isn't essential. Wheat has an opiod effect that numbs the effect of other irritants. On a gluten free...

There 3 dots to the upper right, but I think you can't edit until you have posted 10 times or so. Yeah, big difference between nmol/L and ng/ml. 200 nmol/L = 80 ng/ml. Grassfed whole milk. Convention dairy milk has 5:1 omega 6:3. Organic is 3:1 and grassfed is 1:1. Commercial dairies use Palmitic Acid (C:16 fatty acid) supplement to increase milkfat and volume. Fermented pickles (no vinegar) and other fermented foods increases lactobacillus which excretes lactases to repair lactose intolerance. Reduced fat milk in the...

Absolutely agree. The US diet as recommended is very high omega 6. Sweet potatoes are 17:1 while russet potatoes are only 3:1. Wheat flour is a wopping 22:1. Optimal is 1:1. No wonder we all hurt.
