There might be an anticlumping agent added to the rice flour. I can't eat Snyders Gluten free pretzels at bedtime. I wake two hours later and have to take an Alka-Seltzer. By the way salicylic acid was vitamin B11 until some beaurocraft decided it isn't essential. Wheat has an opiod effect that numbs the effect of other irritants. On a gluten free...

There 3 dots to the upper right, but I think you can't edit until you have posted 10 times or so. Yeah, big difference between nmol/L and ng/ml. 200 nmol/L = 80 ng/ml. Vitamin D Is Not as Toxic as Was Once Thought The UK government forced to rest of the world to limit vitamin D supplement after an infant formula with massive overdose cause an...

Grassfed whole milk. Convention dairy milk has 5:1 omega 6:3. Organic is 3:1 and grassfed is 1:1. Commercial dairies use Palmitic Acid (C:16 fatty acid) supplement to increase milkfat and volume. Fermented pickles (no vinegar) and other fermented foods increases lactobacillus which excretes lactases to repair lactose intolerance. Reduced fat milk in the...

Absolutely agree. The US diet as recommended is very high omega 6. Sweet potatoes are 17:1 while russet potatoes are only 3:1. Wheat flour is a wopping 22:1. Optimal is 1:1. No wonder we all hurt. Gluten Intolerant - Gas/Flatulence
Wheatwacked replied to ArchieK's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Welcome ArchieK. As trents mentioned, yes it is common. Wheat has an opiod effect on our body. It numbs us to the damage it is causing. When you stop gluten many people feel withdrawal effects. In addition once that is gone you will start to feel the effects of other foods that may be irritating you but were numb to. In most cases this will improve... -
strange symptoms/ diagnosis accuracy

I drink 20 to 40 ounces of whole milk, often flavored with Nestle Quik Syrup(cocoa and sugar). It is a mafor source of potassium for me. DV for potassium is 4700 mg a day. At 47 mg K per ounce milk is a good source of potassium. -
strange symptoms/ diagnosis accuracy

Try increasing your intake of choline. Eggs, Beef, Liver or supplement. You can get tested for homocysteine. High homocysteine, greater than 19, causes inflammation. It is considered an independent marker of cardiovascular inflammation. Most doctors are unaware of choline and 90% of us don't eat even the minimun RDA. The RDA is the equivalent of 4 eggs... -
My Son’s celiac test result

Thanks for the update. Iron is best absorbed on an empty stomach. Yet, iron supplements can cause stomach cramps, nausea, and diarrhea in some people. the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency was higher in iron deficient children compared to those who were iron replete. In overall meta-analyses, 25(OH)D concentrations <50 nmol/L were associated... -
Low serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D in hereditary hemochromatosis: relation to iron status The results reveal that the low serum 25-OHD concentration in patients with hemochromatosis is directly related to the extent of iron loading and it is improved by venesection therapy. 1,25 vitamin D may be associated with suppression of hepcidin expression ...

Hi Jessica, When my son was weaned in 1976 he had similar stool. I made it to 63 years old before I had it. C-reactive protein (CRP) is a blood marker for inflammation produced by the liver. Low serum TMAO induced by choline-deficits diets is associated with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), "Decreased synthesis of IgA is observed in...

Has your vitamin D level been tested? "A strong significant inverse association was observed between tTG antibody levels and serum 25(OH)D... participants with positive IgA tTG antibodies was 37.2 times higher for participants with 25(OH)D < 12.5 nmol/l than those whose vitamin D status was higher " Celiac disease and severe vitamin D deficiency...

Focus on malnutrition, reducing your omega 6:3 ratio to around 3:1 (typical western diet is above 14:1). Making your own fermented pickles or buy fermented (no vinegar) will help repopulate your gut with lactobacillus which excretes lactase to reverse lactose intolerance. 100% Grass Fed milk has a omega 6:3 ratio of 1:1. Organic milk is 3:1 and regular...

Celiac getting dentures
Wheatwacked replied to AnnK73's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
How much have you been taking? I need 10,000 IU a day to maintain 80 ng/ml blood level. Have been since 2015. I took until 2018 just to get to 47 ng/ml . Only a few days after increasing from 8,000 to 10,000 a day I said this is sunshine in a bottle! I am on prednisolone 10 mg/day maintenance dose because before starting GFD I had to take 30 or... -

Vitamin D deficiency is the missing link between your dental problems, osteoporosis and Celiac Disease. Before we all got inside jobs (industrial revolution) and then started sun block for fear of skin cancer the normal vitamin D blood level in summer was around 80 ng/ml. Now 42% of us have less than 30 ng/ml year round, resulting in compromised immune... -
Gluten Challenge
Wheatwacked replied to flowerpen's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I think you already know the answer to the question of you and gluten. For your ongoing issues look for vitamin and mineral deficiencies in your diet. Unfortunately doctors don't look for nutritional causes of our symptoms. Top 3 that match your story: Have they tested your homocysteine level? It should be less than 19. Higher homocysteine... -
Switch to Snickers. M&M Peanuts are my favorite. My surprise was Twizzlers. I always though they were all sugar but when I finally read the label, turns out they are mostly Wheat! If the Mars were you're only unintentional gluten, you learned a lesson. With that gluten out of your diet you may get past that plateau I guess you are stuck on. ...

Unraveling Celiac Disease Symptoms, Diet Adherence, and Quality of Life

With no disrespect, I would call this an oxymoron. Most of the common blood tests are measuring only the amount of that which is in the blood. In the case of potassium for example, the ratio between Sodium (Na) and Potassium (K) is essential to heart function. "Total body potassium is approximately 55 mEq/kg body weight. Of this amount, 98% is in the...- 31 comments

I am sorry for your loss. Talk to your doctors about: Increase Vitamin D to 80 ng/ml. Celiac testing with reflex
Wheatwacked replied to Kwallen's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This test is a reflex test, which means that if your screening results return as abnormal (they fall outside the normal range for this test), then an additional confirmation test will be performed, on the same blood sample provided, in order to confirm the original screening result. Reflex tests provide the convenience of performing an additional test to...
