Check yes for me too! I haven't been able to wear costume jewelry ever really. I could tolerate small amounts as a kid..like putting clear nail polish over the back of a pendant so the metal didn't touch me...but I can't even handle that anymore! It's only gold and platinum for me now! I'm sure my hubby would love it if I could wear the cheaper stuff!!

I use them a lot, but they don't have any made up chocolates that are soy free.
Oooh, these are my favorite chocolate sites! I find these brands at my health food stores, and Target too!

Juliem:
I know, I wish more sites would do this too! It actually has helped me though, at least now I can recognize packaging at a store and already know it's safe for me! I haven't ordered any groceries online before either, but it's nice to look at all the stuff we can eat!

This is what they emailed me when I contacted them:
Thank you for your interest in our Smart Beat squeeze margarine. This
product does not contain dairy (casein), gluten or soy.

Now, my only problem is finding this stuff!

Ooh, I'll have to check that one out! Thank you!
If anyone hasn't been here, this is a great one too. You can click on the allergens and it will pull up all the food without them in it! It's awesome!

I'd honestly have your adrenal glands/cortisol levels checked out. I went through the same thing, for about 3-5 months, and by the end of that time, I think I had what people would consider a "nervous breakdown"!! I'm a really laid back easy going person, so I didn't know where all this anxiousness and fear was coming from. Turns out, my adrenals were low, and now I've been on this.

I was also sooooo tired, I could barely function. I saw you have Hashimoto's, and I do too. I thought the tired part was maybe due to my thyroid, but apparently, all these are related. I ended up getting my thyroid meds increased, and have been on these supplements, and things are SO MUCH better! I hope you start feeling better soon too! Feel free to PM me anytime!

Do most fish oil contain soy
As far as I know...most fish oils, and vitamin E pills contain soy. Some of the fish oil ones will say that the way the ingredients are processed, that the soy should be ok for people who are sensitive. I am not willing to give it a try!! It took me forever, but I finally found one, it's actually from GNC. It's the Fish Body Oils 1000 Deodorized. It HAS TO BE the deodorized one though! For some reason, the regular one does not say free of soy.
Here's the info on the label.

Much of what you've said describes my sister, including the surgery, which was the trigger for celiac disease for her, and life stress and symptoms. The test, saliva, I belive is the one her doc wants her to do. I remember she said that she had to send it off and there was only one lab and the supplement sounds like the same kind of thing she mentioned as well. She works in a pharmacy and the pharmacist she works is evidentally very familiar with AF and recommended it.
Wow, isn't it amazing how things, (like surgery) can trigger other stuff to start happening in our bodies?!?! I was already gluten free before my surgery, but I wound up with the soy and dairy allergies soon after! (I think part of it was they had me on a super high protein diet to recover, and I went a bit nuts with the soy stuff, and sure enough, that was all it took!) I am really glad to know that someone else recommended the AF pills!! I actually found them on my own, and asked my doc if they were ok. He said they were great, but it's always nice to hear it from someone else! I hope your sister is finally feeling better!!

i am not sure if anyone read about my tounge tingling and i think i figured it out. I had been chewing gum with soy in it. I had read that some food allergies cause tounge tingling. So do you think this is what caused this. Cause my tounge was still a little tingling yesterday when i was chewing it, and now today it feels like my old tounge almost 90 percent. Does this happen to anyone else that has a problem with soy.
paula
Oh that could definitely be it!! I can't even chew a regular piece of gum, without getting a rash. I do not recall my tongue tingling, but it may have...and maybe the rash was worse, so I didn't realize I had a problem with my tongue. The only gum I've found to be soy free is, Glee Gum, but the peppermint DOES have soy lecithin....tangerine and cinnamon do not.

I hope your tongue stays happy!!

Well, I do have adrenal fatigue. Basically, I had a very invasive surgery last summer, and also own my own business, and work six days a week. I did not take as much time off from work as I was supposed to. (Surgeon wanted me to take 4 weeks off, I only took one week off.) Anyways, after feeling so drained, and lethargic, and gaining weight, and aches and pains, I went to see what was going on. I already had hypothyroidism, so I figured my thyroid meds just needed to be upped. I also told my doc how I can't sleep, and at most, would sleep for 2 hrs before waking. He tested my cortisol levels, fsh, lh, dhea, and I don't remember what else. My fsh, lh (both are hormones) were extremely low, as was the cortisol. He didn't think it was low enough to go for the crazy steroid treatment, and I didn't really want that either. So, for now, I take this....

Mainly because I can't have soy, gluten, or dairy, this is safe for me. I knew it could take forever for a pharmaceutical place to get back with me regarding ingredients. After starting these pills (and I did have my thyroid medication dose increased too, as that was low still) I noticed a difference in only TWO DAYS!!! I was no longer falling asleep on the couch, I actually made it into the bed at night! My pain in my joints was better already too, and my brain fog was lifting! I guess from what I went through, my adrenal glands could not keep up with the stress I was under, and basically, they got pooped out. My doc thinks I'll be able to slowly wean off the pills soon (almost 3 months that I've been on them) and see if my adrenal glands kick in now that they were rested. (Basically, the pills mimics what your own adrenal gland produces, so your glands can rest up, and be ready to start when they are needed.) I'd talk to your doc, and see what they think. I have a good relationship with mine, and even if *he* doesn't think I have something, he will test me for it if I ask. He was surprised when my numbers came back low, and finally said...."Yup, you know your body well!" Good luck, hope you feel better soon!!
ps..this site has some great info!

Am I the ONLY one who reacts to soy lecithin??? It give me an itchy rash on my hands every time I try it.
Jeanne
Nope, you are definitely not the only one!! I can not tolerate any soy lecithin either! I even tried to chew a piece of regular gum, for like, 2 min...then spit it out...sure enough...rash all over my neck, chest, and jawline!! It seems to take a while for my rash to completely disappear too...so it's super annoying!

Yep, dairy free means casein free, though lactose free doesn't necessarily mean casein/dairy free. It can all be confusing!
I hope you find it in stores near you! I'm putting this stuff on everything this past week because I've missed butter so much!
WOOHOOO!! I was thinking it had to be casein free too, I just didn't want to get my hopes up in case I couldn't have it!! Thank you!! I will be on the hunt for it now!!

I ended up contacting Rice Dream recently, partly about this. Anyways, from what I got out of the conversation I had with the customer service rep is this: Rice Dream got new equipment that can detect gluten in even smaller doses than it could before. Every single batch of everything they make, that they put gluten free on, has passed the FDA standards of being gluten free, to still be called gluten free. I believe it had to be under 2 parts per million to be considered gluten free. She also said that if any gluten was detected, it would be stated on the label/packaging. I have seen the Carob Classic milk recently, and it did state on the package....that less than 0.002ppm was detected. So, technically, it IS still gluten free by the FDA guidelines, but they will state on each batch they make, if any gluten was detected. She also told me that the website is extremely out of date, and that whatever is listed on the package for ingredients is correct, NOT what is on the website!! (She did mention she would tell her higher-ups to update the website info.)

It's soy-free (I'm allergic to soy). Here are the ingredients:
Oh, I'm definitely getting this then!! Thanks for the super quick reply too Mango04!!
-
It is dairy free--I contacted the company (I started the post you may be referring to). And it's also gluten-free and soy free. I started using it a week ago, and I love it! I've missed butter very much. It is rather sweet, but hey, I'll take what I can get! Enjoy!
I'm going to check this one out for sure! I've been using coconut oil for everything, and it would be nice to change it up! I can't have dairy, or soy either....thanks for finding out for us!
ps....does dairy free also mean casein free???
-
Someone has It's called Open Original Shared Link
I checked out the site...but I didn't see anywhere where it stated Parma was soy free. Maybe it lists it on the package itself??
I did try the rice cheese this weekend. I attempted to make a grilled cheese. It didn't really melt very well. Maybe, if I left it on longer, it may have melted a tiny bit.......but then the bread would be a little too crispy!! Taste was ok, not great....but I wasn't expecting a lot, being soy, dairy and gluten free!! But it's better than nothing, in my opinion! I definitely would not eat it just by itself either.

Heh! I don't like chipotles either. Odd because I do like hot peppers.
The brand of pasta I bought is Andean Naturals. I bought it at my health food store. They get it in bulk and bag it themselves. Here's a link to their website.

I know they do ship things, but I'm not sure if that applies to food or just supplements.
Yeah, I love hot peppers too, so I thought it would be great! Oh well, lesson learned!!
I'm going to check out that pasta too! Thanks for the link!!

We had the Ancient Harvest brand last night. It was okay but I think I prefer the plain corn or plain quinoa for some reason.
I also love the Imagine tomato soup. Yum!
Hmmm...I've never even seen just quinoa pasta before!! I'll have to keep looking I guess. Do you remember what brand the plain quinoa was?? I do know that if you overcook Ancient Harvest...it's not nearly as good. It took me a few times, but now I just make sure it doesn't boil for more than 5 min, and then it's great. Any more than that, and it's really overcooked.
ps...I bought the new Imagine Bistro Corn Chipolte Bisque.....when I opened it, it was SUPER garlic-y!! My husband couldn't even stand how strong it was, and we didn't even cook it! So, if you aren't into garlic, steer clear of that one!!

I love using Chachies salsa. All of them are gluten free, and even say so right on the package!! I think it's the freshest tasting salsa out there, in my opinion. Yummy!
They're in the refrigerated section, usually by the deli somewhere.

I second that!!
Quinoa flakes are yummy! I've been using it in just about anything I'd normally use breadcrumbs for as well. And yes, it is WAY cheaper than anything else I've found!!
(I love to bake a chicken breast, with dijon mustard on it, then sprinkle crushed corn tortilla chips with the quinoa flakes on em...kinda like shake n' bake!!)

I love the Ancient Harvest brand of Quinoa pasta!! It's a corn & quinoa blend, and it's great. I even cook it for family that can have gluten, and they all loved it too!
I've also been experimenting with Almond, Rice and Hemp milks too for cooking. Some are good for certain things, others for something else! Maybe I'll find a universal one someday!
ps...I LOVE Imagine creamy tomato soup!! Dairy and soy free as well!!

I live in Naples, and have my business on Marco Island. (Small world!!) I honestly haven't been up to Sanibel in ages!! I actually just emailed a "fancier" restaurant here in Naples, just looking for something different than the chains too. They have one in Naples, and one in Bonita Springs. Open Original Shared Link
(Somehow...I always end up at Carraba's!! LOL I love that place!!)
I also can't have soy...and here is what they emailed back.
Aloha!
I have attached a copy of our current Gluten free menu. All of the items listed are also soy-free. Some of the items change from time to time, based on availability or menu changes. If you call to make a reservation and you have any preferences of items or dishes you would like to have outside of our menu our chefs would be more than happy to prepare it for you. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

I actually haven't tried them, but one just opened up right by me recently. Unfortunately, I also can't have soy or dairy, so I haven't gone there!! But I do know a few people that absolutely love it!! (One is a celiac, and she's always been ok there!!) I've heard it's really nice and fresh tasting for fast food. There is a link to the food/allergen info on their website, so you can always take a glance at that too. Enjoy your vacation!!

Thank you--I'm going to look for this. Their other rice cheeses had casein from milk.
This one looks good.
Yeah, I actually think it was this brand that I saw...the packaging was so similar. I hope my store gets the new ones in soon!!

Ok, this old thread is hilarious! Love it!
Yup, I love it! I don't like the berry one though, even though I love berries! My favorite is to mix the Cinnamon crunch with EnviroKidz Koala crisps...YUM!!
I also bought the Ener-G bread as my first gluten-free bread. It went in the trash after the first bite, and I even toasted it!
