  1. You are an absolute treasure Kitty! Again, thank you so much for all the wisdom and guidance. I'm over three years into my celiac journey and I just feel terrible, so I knew something had to be wrong despite my bloodwork being OK. So I bought a home glucose monitor and sure enough it seems my blood sugar is spiking quite high which is probably leading...
  2. But... the 9.2 mmol one is high and a bit worrisome...
  3. Hi Kitty, I think my numbers are a bit high. Some sites say I'm on the high end of normal and some sites say I'm normal. Jan 23rd Pre-Supper = 5.5 mmol / Jan 2rd 2Hrs After Supper = 7.1 mmol Jan 24th Morning After Fast = 5.7 mmol / Jan 24th 2Hrs After Breakfast = 9.2 mmol / Jan 24th Pre-Supper = 5.6 mmol Did you experience blood sugar...
  4. Thank you so much for the info Kitty! I really appreciate it. I will keep track of my readings for a few days. I've been tested for diabetes before but maybe it's time to get checked again? Chronic poor health is exhausting
  5. Yeah sure. It was 6.5 mmols 3 hours after a meal.
  6. Yes tested many times and just did a finger prick test and my blood sugar is normal...
  7. Thanks for replying! Yes I have been drinking less and less water. Sorry if I didn't make the clear. I'm down to maybe 2-3 cups a day and I'm still peeing so much that my urine is clear. I've tried adding a gatorade but I just pee that right out too...
  8. Hello Everyone Just started my fourth year gluten free after a very late celiac diagnosis. I'm noticing that I either get dehydrated very easily or I have trouble absorbing nutrients. I'll explain... I was always a huge water drinker, many litres a day. But ever since going gluten free and trying to heal, the more water I drink, the more it flushes...
  9. Oh wow. You suffered for a long time too! You must have had "silent" symptoms like me where I didn't vomit or have diarrhea. I'm glad to hear your neuro symptoms are improving. My progress is so slow it's agonizing. Yeah, from what I've been reading an epilepsy diet is high fat/specific carbs (no gluten, grains or starch). I'm not sure it would help...
  10. Wow.. Eye opening is right... I wonder why I can't seem to find a doctor who knows any of this? I likely had celiac all my life and it was only found when I was 35. Almost 4 years into a strict gluten-free diet and household, I'm still physically disabled from all my neurological symptoms. But my GI doc and even my neurologist say I'm fine... I wonder...
  11. Hello Everyone I know I've seen it around here somewhere, but I can't find it through searching. I'm hoping someone can help. Is there a list a vitamins/minerals we celiacs should be supplementing with and the dose we should take? Thank you
  12. Oh wow! Thank you so much. All my problems are neurological so I'm signing up for this!
  13. Thanks for the article. I'm coming around slowly and I'll never risk eating out again.
  14. Hello Everyone I'm coming up on three years gluten free after being diagnosed with celiac and likely having it all my life (I was very sick by the time I got my diagnosis). I made my first attempt to eat out again after going gluten-free three years ago and... I got glutened But what's shocking me is how bad the neurological symptoms and anxiety...
  15. Thanks so much for replying! Yes, my antibody test was through the roof, unfortunately. And I had total villas atrophy.
  16. So if I had a positive antibody blood test, I definitely have celiac and there's no chance it could be non-celiac enteropathy?
  17. Oh, ok. I don't know my latest antibody numbers. I'll have to get them done again. I was just told that my villi have grown back. Does that not mean remission? Thanks
  18. Hello everyone, The good news is that my celiac is now in remission judging by my latest endoscopy/biopsy. The bad news is a colonoscopy shows colitis. Now, I'm assuming it's no ulcerative as my GI doc said my colon looks great. So, I'm assuming it's microscopic. I don't really know much about it, though. Had anyone gone through a celiac diagnosis...
  19. Hahahah! Thanks so much for helping 'Lady on the Internet' My doctor didn't book me for an emergency follow up or anything (didn't even call me) so it must be minor (if anything at all). With COVID, the GI docs in my area are very busy and I probably won't see one until next year.
  20. So my biopsy results show that my villi have now returned to normal. Does that mean that my celiac is healed??? It sure doesn't feel healed. Biopsy also said there's "near normal duodenal mucosa with focal active inflammation, non specific." In the comments it says it's neutrophilic inflammation likely from a peptic injury?? Can anyone help...
  21. Hello Everyone, This may be an odd question, but is it possible that as we heal from celiac, we start absorbing more caffeine as well? Thus becoming more sensitive to its effects. I've been a coffee drinker for much of my adulthood and switched to tea years ago in order to consume less caffeine. But in the last month, I'm just unable to tolerate...
  22. Thank you for this. I'll definitely look into it!
  23. Yes I'm still awaiting the results of the biopsy. The doctor told me told me he saw nothing wrong in my stomach just from the endoscopy alone. So I'm awaiting biopsy results.
