Endoscopy results might take another 2 weeks. Hopefully not. But it's summer and vacation time in the labs. No I am not getting fibre. All I can eat is potato, eggs, chicken and bananas. It's a nightmare. Thanks for the concern! I did this and got an emergency appointment and just waiting for the results. There was no bleeding thankfully.

Wow... This is so good to know. Thank you so much for this information. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'll DEFINITELY bring it up again and say I'm very concerned about my gallbladder and a HIDA scan is necessary. Can I ask what your symptoms were CyclingLady? Did they involve pain, nausea and exhaustion?

Hello Celiac friends, I was fortunate to get an emergency endoscopy for this Friday, as I've been continually sick and unable to tolerate food since I've gone gluten free over a year and a half ago. I'm guessing that my intestines are far from healed. But what else should the doctor be looking for while he's down there? What are some complications...

Hello Everyone, Sorry for the detail here, folks. My stool is really off this past month... and I just can't figure it out. I had been doing fairly well over the last few months on a diet of chicken, potato, eggs and bananas (and margarine as I can't handle butter yet). I felt like I was getting better, slowly. I am a pretty severe case (if you...

I think the only cost is in signing up. You can request a certain product be tested, but I think she gets a ton of requests, so it may not happen right away. Also, I've been reading a lot of fat malabsorption, and how it makes people feel like they're been glutened, so I'll be cutting back on all things fatty and greasy

I often wondered the same thing... I'm celiac and eat gluten and grain free, so my one snack that I thought I was able to eat successfully was potato kettle chips (Miss Vickie's Original). I'm not healing though, so I'm starting to wonder if my snack food is the cause? The rest of my diet is made up of whole foods (meat, potato, veg, fruit, tea). It...

Kitchen Sink CC?
CharlesBronson replied to CharlesBronson's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks everyone. I'm thinking I'm really sensitive to glutamate as well, and that my GABA/Glutamate balance is all over the place too. My gut and brain just won't get along... -
Hello Is it possible to get cross contamination from the kitchen sink? My partner rarely eats gluten but sometimes washes dishes with gluten on them in the sink, but never with my dishes. I always do mine separate with a separate sponge/water/etc. The drying towel is shared though. Ate something during the first week of January and I've been sick...

Hello All Thanks again for the information and suggestions. I truly appreciate it Yes, I did have my gallbladder through an ultrasound and all is well as far as it's concerned. And, I did manage to convince my Doctor that I need to see him ASAP, so I should be booked in something within the next 30 days (and not July). What should I...

Thank you CyclingLady I'm on the cancelation list, so here's hoping. I so, so wish I could tolerate cannabis. I had a prescription years ago for the pain and nausea and it worked wonders, but nearly made me lose my mind... panic, paranoia, delusions. Unfortunately I'm just not able to use it I guess I'm just a really bad case of Celiac...

Hello All, I had a reaction to food right after the New Year (thinking it was too much avocado), and I've been sick ever since. The nausea is really severe, and I'm barely able to eat anything at all. I've basically been laying down for over a month now... Losing hope. I'm not able to see my GI Doc until this summer for another scope of my guts...

Hello All Thank you once again for the replies. I'm grateful. I'd sure love to get another GI scope but I cannot get in to see my GI doc until May at the earliest. I basically get to see him once a year now, so it's borderline useless. I was referred to a Celiac specialist nutritionist here and it was a joke. She basically said anything with a...

Hello All, Just looking for information on vitamins. Had some testing come back this week that my bone density is low, as is my B12 and D. So, I clearly need to supplement, but have read that it's hard to trust vitamin brands that say they're gluten free as their regulations are less strict. Is there a list of brands that are safe? Also, I'm still...

Thank you so much for helping me out Kitty. Yes, I'd say a histamine threshold makes sense, and when I added avocado to my already daily banana intake, I must have gone way over my histamine threshold. Well, now that I know that avocado made me ill, I'm convinced that histamine is an issue for me. My diet was going well, I felt better, and then...

This is great information. Thank you Kitty! I wonder why I don't get sick when I eat bananas everyday yet I try avocado and get sick? This is such a confusing process After looking at a list of high/low histamine foods, I seem to be fine with some histamine foods (bananas, green beans), but others leave no doubt that they hurt me (spaghetti sauces,...

Hello All, I had a pretty good period of fewer symptoms recently on a diet of chicken, beef, eggs, sweet potato, and bananas, but after eating avocado for a few days, I feel like I've been glutened (bed bound again) and my bathroom habits have worsened as well. I figured avocado would be a good food for a severe case of Celiac like mine, but then...

Not Healing
CharlesBronson replied to CharlesBronson's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Wow! So many great responses and great information. Thank you all so much! My oven is fine. Thanks everyone for weighing in on this topic. I've been feeling better the last 2 days, and I've cooked all my chicken in the oven. There's no gluten allowed in the house (especially flours), so there hasn't been any gluten in the oven since cleaning it. I...
