  1. cyclinglady I was just looking over my last endoscopy results from about 6 months ago and it looks like the only place where some mucosal changes were noted was in the duodenal area (metaplasia) and in the esophagus (hyperplasia). I hate how confusing these reports are to read, but I thought the metaplasia in the duodenal area was a normal finding for...
  2. cyclinglady, Yes I do have thyroid disease as well. Would gastritis be something that would have been seen on my endoscopy? I had one the last time I was having these symptoms and I was tested for EOE and microscopic colitis all of which came back normal. But my esophagus showed some signs of damage from acid exposure. My doctor did not mention gastritis...
  3. As some of you already know, I was glutened a few weeks ago... :( probably from some tacos from a local restaurant. Most of my symptoms have since resolved but I still have this awful GERD (nausea, burning throat, lump in throat sensation). I finally caved and bout some OTC Prilosec in hopes of relieving some of my discomfort. After a week of taking...
  4. Ennis_TX I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who takes SOOOOO long to get back to feeling normal. Great advice I will look into dedicated gluten-free places to eat, thank you.
  5. apprehensiveengineer, You are totally right, thank you, I needed to read that. I actually think that giving up eating out is a small price to pay for never feeling this sick. I think when I am feeling good I just forget how awful it is to be glutened, so I risk it and hope for the best. I need to be better. I am just glad to know that the restaurant really...
  6. cyclinglady, That is so interesting. I think I am finally convinced it is just not worth eating out, ever. I also have autoimmune thyroid disease which I think is also being wacky since I was glutened. Lets just hope everything settles down soon!
  7. Oh really? I didn't know it could take so long for the worse of the reaction to start. I bet you are right. Thank you for the reply.
  8. Somewhere around last Monday the 10th of September I was glutened, but I cannot figure out what did it to me! I have a few suspects though... what do you think? 1. Chili powder (Full Circle Market brand, no gluten ingredients but not labeled gluten-free) 2. Fish Tacos I had on the 7th at a restaurant. There easily could have been some CC with...
  9. I have been gluten-free for around 10 months. Fatigue is still striking on a lot of days. It is possible I have been glutting myself from full circle market chili powder, but other then that by diet and cooking has been perfect. How long did it take for your fatigue to go away for good? I have a Dr appointment in a few weeks to address...
  10. Ennis_TX That sucks! Do these intolerances just keep cropping up? Or do things stabilize after you have been gluten-free a while? I'm sure I have other intolerances but it is SO hard to figure out what they are. I also feel like if I over do it on anything like eat a bag of cashews in one sitting I'm sick. Does this sound normal for celiac?
  11. I have been gluten-free for around 8 months and over all I am improving, but I still have such a finicky tummy and digestive system. It seems as soon as I eat anything slightly out of the ordinary like a couple of potato chips or a gluten-free cookie I am terribly sick for a couple of days. Did you ever get to the point where you could eat anything except...
  12. Thank you all for your reply and for the reassurance that I am not being too picky. I have another question in regards to CC and gluten free foods, it's a bit hard to explain so bare with me. When you go to the grocery store there are some foods you can safely assume are gluten free, right? like baby carrots, bottles water, 100% orange juice...
  13. Ok, I'm 6-7 months into this gluten free diet thing and I am still struggling understand what exactly I should and shouldn't eat. This recovery process has been painfully slow for me so I have been trying to be as careful as I possibly can to speed the recovery process. Yesterday we were over at my mother-in-laws for dinner for my husbands birthday...
  14. As far as I know I only have celiac disease. I only take it because my GI told me I probably should. I swear they are making me nauseous though! My GI says that they don't have that side effect so I was just curious if anyone else experienced this. Either way I'm stopping them. I have been taking them for 5 months and haven't noticed they help anything...
  15. Does anyone get sick from taking probiotics? I know probiotics often cause temporary side effects as they are getting into your system like gas and bloating. But has anyone experienced long-term negative effects from these? I'm taking Align and have been since I was diagnosed but I'm wondering if it is actually making me sick. Let me know! Thanks...
