  1. Hi, it's me again. A quick question for you guys! Im waiting to see a gastro in June, but as symptoms have been almost unbearable, i decided to do a DNA test in the interim to see if I had the hladq2 or hladq8 markers. Got the results back a couple days ago, and i have neither of those markers, and have been told i have a low risk of developing the...
  2. @GFinDC Hi! thanks for your comment, you're right yes. If I had it my way I wouldn't be eating gluten, but my gp feels I need to rule out other IBDs in case they are missed, things like chrons, IBD etc. Thanks again
  3. @squirmingitch hi, thanks. I am well aware the genetic test is not a tool used to diagnose celiac. But for me personally I don’t see any harm in doing the genetic test whilst I wait for endoscopy and biopsy. ( there’s a very long wait on nhs) so I will probably do it for a peace of mind whilst I wait.
  4. @cyclinglady Thank you for the reply. Yeah, its tricky to know what they include on the celiac panel, they usually don't like to tell you what is included in the panel. But I had an appointment today and brought up iga deficiency and having the bloods done to get that ruled out and my GP said the blood test can be run but as i have a specialist appointment...
  5. @cyclinglady Hello! So sorry I didn't get any notification that you had replied to this! very frustrating, thank you for replying though! yes you're right, whenever I ask to have my blood tested for iga deficiency my doctors just look at me perplexed and tell me if anything was out of sorts on my celiac panel that they might check that.. but because...
  6. Hi guys, this is a question specifically for those living in the UK who are under the NHS. If any of you have read my previous posts on iga deficiency you'll know i've been finding it difficult trying to get blood tests to check if i have a deficiency or not. I was just wondering if anyone in the UK, but also if anyone has had issues regarding this issue...
  7. @Miss_L Thank you so much for the reply I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me your story. Its good to know in a way that i'm not the only one who has had similar experiences in regards to testing Iga deficiency. My GP mentioned that if my b12/ iron/ Vit D are low (AGAIN) then they'll think about it. But he also said NHS don't properly know...
  8. Hi all, I had a look on the forums and wasn't able to find what i wanted to ask regarding IgA deficiency. If you guys do know of other forum topics that has a lot of in depth knowledge on this do let me know. I live in London, and read on other forums on other sites that IgA deficiency blood tests are allowed to be requested on the NHS. I have...
  9. I'm yet to be diagnosed but feel i have some issue with digesting gluten. But this has been an issue for me for years now. And always subsides when I take a break from Gluten in my diet...!
  10. @ravenwoodglass Wow thank you so much for taking the time out to tell me your story its greatly appreciated. Im shocked but equally not surprised at the length it took for you to get a diagnosis It's so scary that so called health professionals didn't connect the dots.. I have been tested for the ulcer causing bacteria but those are negative and have...
  11. I’ve been having gastro issues from almost 15 years now, initially I was referred to a psychologist because my gp at the time thought I was making it up and that it was all in my head. I was around 10/11 then. Was given aspirin to take every morning before school.. that was my GPS solution back then. Then I was hospitalised for a recurring infection n...
