  1. I did stock up on some yarn from Big Lots. I just wanted really nice special yarn for a prayer shawl. Something that feels like a hug.
  2. Off to a rocky start on the shawl. I ordered some great priced bamboo yarn from an internet site. I still haven't got the yarn yet....... I called and it's on back order. I cancelled the order. Now we are due for some bad winter weather asfter a freakish melt down and pretty heavy rain. We are expecting at 2 inches of snow on top of the standing water...
  3. Loey, This book included personal stories about working for the mission, giving shawls in person, and the personal pattern contribution. I'm thinking a poncho pattern would be a nice idea too.
  4. The Prayer Shawl Companion, Janet Bristow & Victoria A. Cole- Galo list price US$19.95 but I found it on clearance at JoAnn's for $5.97
  5. I have to admit I am intrigued by the prayer shawl. I bought a clearance Prayer Shawl book, because the patterns looked soo easy. I did not expect the personal stories would be so interesting. The story on page 59 caught my interest. A wounded soldier at Walter Reed was asked what he had wrapped around him. He said he didn't know, someone just gave it...
  6. A 5 year plan? Hmmm. I found my first grey hair on 12/21/2012. My son is 13. So for the next 5 years I will be busy raising a young man to adulthood. My daughter is 10. So I am raising a young woman. (These are considered the toughest years for a female.) Trying to stay healthy. Keep up with the husband and kids. Knit some stuff for fun and...
  7. Barley (malt), rye, and oats did not make the top 8 allegergens list that they MUST post.
  8. Happy New Year!!! We survived another year! (Maya doomesday indeed!!?) May you find peace and happiness (a little more wealth won't hurt) this year.
  9. Diary of a wimpy kid. Gets most reluctant readers going, they seem to like the "comic book" look and feel to the books. I couldn't stand Captain Underpants but that is popular too.
  10. If the extremities turn cold and white at first. It could be Reynould's.
  11. OK Lingerie is not really meant to stay on. I love that Roomba (robot vacuum)! I can sit back drink some wine while that noisy critter works. More wine start singing to the tune of "Friends in Low Places" I'll drink my wine cause your doing just fine My roomba's cleaning Low places (feel free to ad more verses)
  12. I wonder if you can get the Bisquick in Windsor? Perhaps some one should build another bridge!!? LOL Shroom ~ The only thing that I know of that has a food reaction and fluid on the lungs is, Lysinuric Protein Intolerance (LPI).
  13. It was a Happy Birthday! Thank you. Guess what it was b day cake and BACON!
  14. Good Lord! My husbnd and daughter are in the kitchen making me a birthday cake. A lot of laughing going on, I am getting a little worried. Please be edible!
  15. Ughh. Come here to have some fun and you psillies are talking about celibacy and root canals!!? Hi Molly! Glad you checked in. Say hi to celiac3270. Glad to know you kids are doing well!
  16. Hmmm you might be on to something. The first gluten free hamster food on the market! I can see your family's experience on the side of the bag and some of the health benefits for the hamsters listed too. What lucky little hamsters! Is there anything mommies don't do?
  17. I wonder if this is when Pernicious anemia is part of the equation. The gut lining lacks the proper enzymes to absorb vitamin B12. So the condition doesn't fully resolve no matter how much B12 or Bcomplex you take(B complex vitamin can be toxic if you take too much.) I have had geographic tongue since I was in high school. (41 now) There is not a definative...
  18. Stu, I swear I would have been in more competant and caring hands if the maintenance man had helped me deliver my first child! Rather than the wretched nurse who went on a 3 hour tour (Gilligan's Island style) so I missed any pain management with a 8lb 5oz. 22inch long baby, sunny side up, who decided halfway out~ he didn't want to come out ~so he held...
  19. That's just what I was told by the doctor. Honestly, I have one of the worst track records for meeting CRAZY doctors. (and that is the nicest way I can say it)
  20. If the twitching is in your lower abdomen, a little more to your right~ it is a "spastic colon". Or at least that is what I was told when I went to the doctor's for it. Then the doctor slapped on the old IBS diagnoses.
  21. A deep bow would just take the sport out of sticking my foot up his or her arse!
  22. I'm originally from Michigan too! (SW) I live in the south now, but all my good friends happen to be from Michigan. :)

  23. Hello mommida, Ive been reading an old post about the abdominal pain you were experiencing at night time.

My daughter has recently been diagnosed as Celiac and is suffering with the same pain at night. Did you ever find out how to control this? She is already on the diet and was ok for a few months but recently had a stomach bug and is up every night again.

Any advice you can give pl...

  24. I just did a very quick look up, so I don't much about pyderma gangrenosum. It seems to be more associated with colitis and chron's. So your doctor diagnosed with Celiac without testing? Well welcome to the board and feel free to ask any question! I suggest you keep a food journal as sometimes other food sensitivities come into play. Believe it or...
