  1. The stomach acids can't remain low all the time so that you react to the gluten/soy etc. all the time. Something got broken and there's no way back. Also I forgot to mention that my antibodies for Crohn were elevated a bit (within the limit) compared to the other IgA antibodies so looks like that's my next auto-immune to deal with lol, I don't plan on sticking...
  2. Exactly, you said it yourself. You were simply lucky not to be your doctor's first patient with celiac. What about all those people that have had many health issues due to gluten but never got to the bottom of it and died in vain from various complications? People who couldn't pinpoint their symptoms to gluten and kept poisoning themselves without knowing...
  3. Sir, I appreciate your help but my reaction to the ingested melon had nothing to do with my oral cavity. It simply caused overall itching. I appreciate your efforts in explaining but I'm not allergic to pollen either and have never had hay fever. Quoting the Bible is useless. It doesn't say anything on celiac disease, therefore it's irrelevant in today...
  4. Well, maybe.. For me it was the proof that my body was falling apart that I could show to doctors so they stop saying how my symptoms were 'in my head' and prescribing me anti anxiety pills when in reality I was living with the fear I might have lymphoma while experiencing all the horrible symptoms. I had the night sweats, itchy skin for months, extreme bouts...
  5. Hi everyone. I'm pretty new to all of this but I'm most likely a non-celiac, who happens to be intolerant to wheat/soy/yeast/casein/veal and beef. I'm also intolerant to peanuts and sunflower seeds but I've never had a reaction to them. My symptoms didn't start until after I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse in 2016 (one auto-immune disease leads...
  6. I have always been a voracious melon eater and now, out of nowhere I start to itch like crazy on my neck/chest when I eat it. I tried eating it on three different occasions and the itching occurs simultaneously as I'm eating. The food allergy test I had didn't have 'melons' listed in the food items I was tested for but I swear the itching is worse than when...
  7. The NHL ratio is still pretty high? I'm just wondering if these people drank? Most celiacs are also yeast intolerant and should avoid alcohol. But if they weren't drinkers and still got non-hodgkin's, then the results from this study don't look that good, with the exception of less cardiovascular diseases.
  8. Old thread but I recently started using apple cider vinegar because white vinegar makes me incredibly itchy (mostly on my upper arm area) within seconds upon consuming it. It's impossible to ignore the itching as it occurs immediately so I am absolutely certain that white vinegar is the culprit. Always be your own advocate, even if the label says it's safe...
  9. I agree that it seems most companies simply want to jump on the 'gluten-free' bandwagon, therefore giving those who can't tolerate gluten and buying their products a bad rap, but to a certain level I can understand this. From what I know, candida is often present at patients with celiac disease with one of the symptoms in men being 'red rash around the penile...
  10. Everyone should sign up. Better die as a guinea pig than die daily anyway from constant stress and cross-contamination. As if having to stop eating virtually everything isn't bad enough that cross contamination should exist. Can't be many worse feelings than the one you get upon reading "may contain traces of gluten' on a package of food that you are willing...
  11. This thread is everything I have gone through, wow! I can write a book on my journey with celiac as well; from my fears of potentially having lymphoma cause of my symptoms (nights sweats, itchy skin at night, rashes) to actually diagnosing myself with Celiac Disease accurately thanks to accidentally trying Nestle's Cheerios for the first time last December...
  12. I've recently started eating something that resembles 'baked bread' (except it's not truly bread cause it's made without yeast), and it's made from corn flour and baking powder that contains corn starch instead of gluten. I thought corn flour products were safe for celiacs, but I guess I was wrong. For me the symptoms start immediate and start with heavy...
