  1. I can make a whole batch of 36-48 cookies at home for ~$5. Thanks but no thanks. If I want expensive gluten-free cookies there are local gluten-free bakers I can support.
  2. Here’s a bit more to the article. Basically it’s caught with your blood work. And if you have refractory celiac disease you are at a higher risk. https://www.gastroendonews.com/PRN/Article/01-24/celiac-disease-cancer-enteropathy-associated-T-cell-lymphoma/72569
  3. Correct. The PA (which I won’t see anymore) was getting negative bacterial results from my labs and it wasn’t till the 3rd time that I saw the Dr. and he said my labs were negative for UTI. So no actual UTI, antibiotics for no reason, and new allergy, all because of bloating triggering my bladder to act as if I had a UTI.
  4. I tried to cut out cane sugar from my diet and used Stevia instead. After 3 rounds of antibiotics because of a suspected UTI, I developed an allergy to Bactrim destroyed all the progress I had made on my gut health microbiome and saw the urologist, I was told to quit using Stevia. While it’s toted as a great sugar alternative and “natural” I don’t believe...
  5. Are they finding it in patients that are not on a fully 100% gluten free diet? I thought I read somewhere that it is mostly affecting men over the age of 65 that aren’t diagnosed till later in life. These kinds of articles can stir up fear in our community and while yes information is key we need clarification on which group of celiac individuals is predominantly a...
  6. Yes! I agree with all of this. 1. I had to cut out dairy when my gut first healed. 2. I did a food sensitivity test and found out I was reacting to chicken and cane sugar. 3. Heal your gut with Lglutamine you may be dealing with leaky gut and possibly candida. You can check out GI Revive. 4. I use gluten-free psyllium husk for fiber and/or chia...
  7. Yes that’s what the article I read said. So sad for all those that are misdiagnosed, knowing something is wrong and not getting the proper diagnosis.
  8. Hi another possibility, if you are African American your test results may be a false negative. There was a study that was done recently talking about how AA were not being diagnosed properly because their blood work was not showing high enough levels of inflammatory markers to then move on to an endoscopy diagnosis. I personally still had reactions after...
  9. I wonder if the FDA would respond the same if someone did this with insulin for diabetes? The answer is no because we aren’t treated properly and make a mockery in this country. Our food is literally medicine and we are treated like garbage. The FDA is a joke. Until someone they love gets celiac disease most people don’t get the importance of gluten-free foo...
  10. Sorry my post went as a quote under awol cast iron stomach and it was supposed to be a general statement, not directed specifically to one person.
  11. Go ahead and quit supporting the magazine. Your fight for gluten-free information and products, just got smaller. If I stopped buying from companies I didn’t agree with politically I would have a list as long as my arm. Give me a break people. Celiac.com reaches out to products that are sponsors and they are now all informed of her crimes so now this magazine w...
  12. I have been to Disney 2 times since my diagnosis and I haven’t been sick. It truly is a great place to go on vacation. We travel a lot and I rely on the app Find Me Gluten Free. I do my research ahead of time and work with a Disney vacation planner to schedule a couple sit down diners, we also do fast dining. In Hollywood studios we ate at Backlot Express &...
  13. I take Naturelo from Amazon, it’s made with real foods. It seems to do good for me. If you’re working with a nutritionist, I personally invested the money on a micronutrients blood panel and it told me exactly what vitamins I was deficient in and so we were able to target those areas. Good luck to you in this new chapter of life, it gets easier to navigate the...
  14. Thank you! I couldn’t find info about this on the website.
  15. Agree! Panera Bread has rude employees when it comes to asking about gluten free options which is annoying since they actually have a lot of gluten-free options.
