  1. WELCOME! What state do you live in? I'm in Michigan and I know that here I can go online and get a list of all of the gluten free products available in Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, or Meijer. Do you have any of those stores? If not, try google searching the name of the nearest chain stores to you or post where you are and what stores you have and maybe someone from your area can help.

  2. I was getting acne on my scalp until I realized I was using a shampoo with wheat in it. I have the Delphi list. Their list of safe health and beauty stuff is too big to copy and post. Here's how to get it.

    1) Go to the website, Open Original Shared Link

    2) Click on "messages" or "start reading"

    3) Select the folder "gluten-free Product List"

    4) Click on the topic called "Downloadable files word"

    5) Of the four options, choose the one in the upper right.

You may need to register (the basic version is free) in which case, just register first, then complete the steps above.

  3. I'm from Algonac, but I figured unless you were from nearby you wouldn't know where that was. :P I work out in Shelby Twp. I went to Celiac Specialties in C'field for the first time this week. It was good. I had a piece of banana cake and my son had "bread pudding" made from cut up donuts covered in chocolate. His was too sweet for me. :) I also bought some boxed pasta. They sell dry mixes, boxed mixes, candy, cereal, spices, and pastas in addition to their prepared baked goods. Their hours are kind of strange is all. I think they closed at 2 or 2:30 almost every day. I REALLY want to go to Belcibo!

Meijer has a good gluten-free selection and you can get a list of their gluten-free products online. Kroger has an ok selection in their Nature's Market section. The best bread I've found around here is Trader Joe's Ryless Rye. It's soo good!

  4. I used to use the Chi-Chi's mix in my corn pudding. Haven't made it since going gluten-free. My son's been begging for it, though. "Cake" is what they called it on their menus. I think that sold better than "pudding". But it was always served with a scooper and eaten with silverware. You couldn't really pick it up. Now I'm salivating! I miss Chi-Chi's!!

    Here's my recipe:

    Mix

    1 can cream corn

    1 can regular corn

    8 oz. sour cream

1 pouch Chi-Chi's corn cake OR 1 box corn muffin mix

Bake 350 until brown on top, hot in middle. Around 40 minutes.

  5. Is that similar to the Chi-Chi's corn cake? Does anyone know if their pouch mix is gluten-free? It's made by Hormel since Chi-Chi's went under, and it doesn't list any wheat ingredients. It's the only cornbread mix my local grocer has that doesn't list wheat. I've been wanting to try it, but wasn't sure.

  6. Hi, Beth. I'm 26 and I'm in SE Michigan. What area are you in? I'm self-diagnosed (HATE my doctor) and I've only been gluten-free about 2 months myself, so I'm still learning. Glad to meet you. I believe *most* vinegars are ok. Malt vinegars are not ok.

The Delphi List has these Heinz condiments as gluten-free:

    Heinz (Heinz) (800-255-5750) (www.heinz.com) (ve=03/24/04)

KETCHUP: Ketcup, Kick’rs (Hot & Spicy)

VINEGAR: Distilled White Vinegar, Red Wine Vinegar, Apple Cider Vinegar (NOTE: Apple Cider FLAVORED Vinegar is NOT gluten-free)

EZ MARINADER: Mr. Yoshida Teriyaki only

  7. Yep. That's what I was hoping for. I wasn't able to find that on the US website and I've never seen it in real life, though. I might check a Walmart near me, but I think it'd be easier to just have them send it right to my house. It's cool that they let people order like that. I had asked Frito Lay if I could order a flavor of Fritos that they don't sell in my area once, but they're not willing to do that.

  8. It's not that I hadn't checked, but they even said in their response that they don't have a store that sells it in my area. I've never ever seen it sold like that. It's been one of my "wishful thinking" ideas for years. I figured if it's not sold everywhere there must be other people who want it but can't get it. I even tried to find a way to buy it online, but I couldn't find any. If you do have it near you I'm jealous. The box meals were on sale here last week for 50 cents so I bought a bunch of those and gave the noodles away.

  9. I emailed Kraft today to ask about buying just the powdered cheese sauce mix. I guess it's sold in stores in some areas, just not near me. Here was their answer.

    Hi Heather,

Thank you for visiting Open Original Shared Link and for your interest in KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Cheese Topping.

I've checked our online product locator database and was unable to locate KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Cheese Topping in your area. However, we do offer an ordering service for our hard to find products - which ships those products directly to you. If you give us a call one of our representatives would be glad to place an order for you. Our Kraft/NetGrocer team may be reached at 888-849-5612 from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. EST.

For future reference you can try our Product Locator to search for your favorite products in your area - simply log onto Open Original Shared Link and click the product information tab.

Another alternative is to check with your grocery store manager as to whether or not the store can stock the product you're looking to purchase. The store manager may be able to place a special order for you. Please understand that the decision to place a special order is up to the store manager.

Again, thanks for contacting us, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy our products.

  10. I've chanced it at Ruby Tuesday's a couple of times and been ok. I get a burger, no bun, or a steak that's not marinated and a baked potato and steamed veggies. I've heard others have gotten sick from the salad bar. Haven't tried it myself.

Guess I'm never going to Applebee's again. Good thing all I ever liked was their veggie patch pizza anyhow.

  11. I'd probably go with calling the venue, saying disease alot, and offering to bring a doctor's note. If not, pack a diaper bag and tell them your friend is changing the baby before she brings it in and you're just trying to help her carry everything.

This is a great question. I have some concerts later this year. Please let us know how it works out for you.
