  1. Annatto is gluten-free. No question. richard
  2. Once again, MSG is NOT off-limits to people with celiac. This is just flat-out wrong. richard
  3. I can only assume that L&P tested various versions and in Canada folks liked the one with wheat best. Check the French's, but do you all have Kroger stores there? Also, check out Angostura. I'm pretty certain it's gluten-free here. richard
  4. Lea & Perrins most definitely is gluten-free in the U.S. and most definitely is NOT gluten-free outside the U.S. You're mixing up the countries. In the U.S. French's and Kroger are also gluten-free. richard
  5. I'll offer a different perspective -- just avoid buying those expensive and sometimes crummy tasting gluten-free specialty foods. The ONLY gluten-free specialty foods I buy with any regularity are pasta and crackers and the crackers aren't much more than regular ones. Instead of expensive gluten-free cookies I either make my own or, usually, eat some other...
  6. This is the same thing as the question about whether distilling makes vinegar started from wheat gluten-free. Every thing I've seen said it does. I don't worry any more about vinegar (except malt vinegar) or distilled spirits. richard
  7. I know of only one toothpaste with gluten so this isn't really much of a concern, but when you brush your teeth and rinse your mouth you always end up swallowing a little whether you know it or not. And once you've rinsed your mouth exactly how can you be sure you got every speck of that residue out of your mouth? It's just not a good idea to put anything...
  8. Sorbitol is definitely gluten-free and I've never seen any indication people with celiac are more sensitive to it. It does nothing to me. But if it bothers you you certainly need anything else giving you bowel problems. richard
  9. Sensodyne is most definitely not considered gluten-free. In fact, it's the only toothpaste I know of that has or probably has gluten. richard
  10. There's no gluten in Kraft shredded cheese. There have always been warnings that some manufacturers might use flour to keep the cheese from sticking, but I have yet to find one that does so. I have found a couple of shredded Mexican style cheeses with gluten, but it's not because they use flour to avoid sticking. richard
