  1. really like the preview button. The tags are interesting too. Is that new? Or did no one ever use them before?
  2. 100% of 1 is one. So 100% increase in risk means double the chance. If you have a 1% lifetime risk of getting a cancer, and you engage in a behaviour that increase the risk 40 to 100 fold, you have increased your lifetime risk to 1.4% to 2%.
  3. Alos, speel chek kno llonger werks. Ie jusht chkt mai brouser and iht haz spelchick chekt. (Firefox)
  4. Yes. Darker text would be lovely. Also, the Multiquote and quote buttons look blurry. I like the 'turn off signature' option.
  5. So I was listening to NPR, and they were discussing the coming storm. Made comments about candles and batteries being sold out in stores. Now, I could see needing batteries, because you use those, and maybe you're running low, but candles? People live in a storm zone with frequent chance of power outage and they don't have a box of candles in the closet...
  6. And cheers to all. I have my own made up bevvy of pear juice, soda water and vodka.
  7. Very mundane. Did you at least keep a firm hold of your beverage whilst dishing?
  8. I don't know what the **** this means, but it sounds really funny!
  9. Be sure to use the roomie's towels. No point in getting bug footprints all over YOUR stuff.
  10. It's good for you. Plus gives you time to post here before you head out.
  11. What he said!!! I do have my spider stick - should help with lions. And yes, the best apple butter makers do require quite a bit of wine. Well worth it though.
  12. Sounds like you need some chickens to help you with that.
  13. dawn.... He's left on his months elsewhere employment so now it's ok (according to the neighbors who don't like him anyway. Cookin' me up some caramel apple butter right now.
  14. Apple sauce or butter Get up as soon as the rooster crows. It'll likely still be dark, but you need a little time to get ready anyway. Dress in your warmest dark/green clothing. Grab a couple grocery sacks-the black ones are a good choice. Sneak through the woods to the neighbour's yard. It's best to grab a stick at the beginning of your journey...
  15. You could get a seriously bruised snout from those knees running into you!
  16. Also knew a woman with indoor cats that she would put harnesses on, load into the car, and take for walks in the state parks (no dogs allowed). She said they loved it...
  17. I had a SIL who would put some of her cats on a long leash clipped onto a clothesline. They were happy to be outside, and she'd go out and untangle them periodically. The neighborhood was safe from predators, and she had a fenced yard, but the cats were damaged (one deaf, one brain damaged, one missing a limb or something) and she didn't want to risk them...
  18. brr, chilly today. I turned on the heat for the first time, just to take the nip out of the air.
  19. well, I've been entertaining myself lately by reading doomsday prepper forums. Quite amusing to read them debating over how many rolls of tp one should be storing (something like 24 rolls per person - they seem to use a lot less than I do, but anyway..) for a year. I'm wondering what sort of scenario they're envisioning that will suddenly have fluffy rolls...
  20. My mom has made dairy free pie for my bro for years. She uses coconut milk. If your recipe has sweetened condensed milk you might want to consider adding more sugar, or finding a recipe that uses regular milk or cream. I say start now with test pies.
