I had not mentioned my health one to her in 4 months even during the worst of it, before that time I had only mentioned it when she asked. My illness doesn't define me, i just came here to the forum to ask for help for a few phrases to diffuse situations when someone says something harsh, that is all

I agree with moving on. At the time i wasn’t yet in the acceptance phase. She was my closest friend and yes, I was very ill and wasn’t able to be ‘whole’ at the time. I came to the forum looking for a quick and phrase to diffuse situations easily. I do go join people after they have eaten. I am no longer friends with that person. She was absolut...

thanks very much everyone for your feedback and comments, I've gotten the bubble-boy comment so many times and people act as though our issues inconvenience them. @Beverage I am happy that you don't have to waste your time defending your sister in law! Life is too short for sure. Simple easy relationships are way more fun anyway. I have lost more...

Hello everyone, Hope you are having a nice day. I have seen so many blogs or links about how we should speak to someone with chronic illness, mental illness and grief. A LOT of nice "what NOT to say" websites, but my question to all of you is how do you react to friends who do say insensitive or hurtful things without creating even more drama? I...

I've tried it on a sore on my finger and it went away quite fast, just test on one spot. I wish you well

I am so sorry to read this. hope you are ok. Maybe let your husband read what you wrote, it could help him understand. What you are experiencing is a lot to take in at once and I am sending you kind thoughts. Try to find out the exact cost of that specialists would cost without insurance. Your heath is worth the cost if you can afford it. I personally tried...- 17 replies

thanks for the suggestions. I do make my own meals, but i did want to burrow a have a few bars here and there to be able to be more spontaneous or for emergencies. I FINALLY found one that I can eat and digest! https://www.pulsin.co.uk/maple-peanut-protein-snack.html I wish they were organic, but since I wont eat them often it should be ok. Be aware...

Hey MarD123, i hear you about the isles upon isles of things we can’t eat in the grocery store. I stopped going for months because where I live in switzerland there is an outdoor fruit and veggie market. That way I didn’t have to deal with reading ingredients and eating that terrible processed food. Every Monday there is also a food truck here that sel...

Hey posterboy and presenttime14! Thanks for your answers. I went to get a second opinion from a neurologist and he said I don't have epilepsy. The ORL I saw about possible inner ear issues because of vertigo refused to allow me to drink water when i was feeling dizzy and i ended up almost passing out and on the floor and he suggested I go to the waiting...

healthysquirrel replied to jetplanelovers's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have the same manifestations. No neurologist believes me, but I do think depending where you live you should try to find one who is already familiar with celiac. I know it is yet another appointment, but please go see a cardiologist just to rule heart issues out. I also agree that you have to be your own advocate, but please take at least 1 day or 2 off...- 17 replies

dear @Presenttime14, I honestly thought I had answered you months ago.? Thanks for your message. I definitely have Celiac disease, I am not sure that was clear in my initial post. I agree that it is good to do your own research and try to find triggers. I've been trying since December and can't find an answer. I just got out of the emergency room after having...

Extreme anxiety
healthysquirrel replied to Crispy chick's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Sorry you are feeling badly Crispy Chick. I have been taking high dose cbd oil and it helps so much. Not sure it is legal where you are though. If you can, try meditating. If not, breathing exercises help a lot. I still have anxiety, but what you describe sounds like gluten withdrawal. Hope you feel better soon! -
thanks icelandgirl. it is quite dramatic isn't it? I admit that me and my friends were laughing quite a bit because it was so strange to be sitting there talking then feeling like I was falling, for me the spells didn't last long, but were super frequent. I really can't imagine having it on vacation! ayyyy. glad you had the answers quickly! PS are...

My vertigo completely went away, YEAAAAAAAAAH! I really wish i were certain about why so I could help others. I did the epley maneuver again. I wasn't convinced that I did it right the first time. then it went away a few days later, so it really must have been a crystal. My vertigo was to the point where i had to hold on to things like desks and tables...

healthysquirrel replied to greenbeanie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
YES Cyclinglady peace of mind is priceless. I love having a place where I don't need to worry. Our kitchen is all gluten free. I am getting into organising our apartment more, all my gluten free medications are clearly marked. I only have a few in case of emergency (allergy meds, anti inflammatories) Are all your toiletries gluten free for your whole household... -
Hello Ennis_TX thanks for your answer. I will play around with making my own at some point. Nice idea with sunflower butter! hmmmm getting inspired. Julian bakery don't ship to Switzerland, but you can get them shipped through iherb, I am mentioning this in case it could help someone else who is not in the US or abroad. can't get bhu foods here, but...

Hello. Hope you are all feeling well. I have recently had a few things happen in life where a meal bar would really have come in handy. I normally eat whole foods and bring bananas if i need to leave the house abruptly etc. I have just tried a few meal bars that don’t agree with me because of high fodmap ingredients. If any of you knowledgeable people o...

Intermittent Fasting,
healthysquirrel commented on Ennis-TX's blog entry in Daily Life and Compromising
Ennis this is so nice to hear. I am really happy for you! Another cool thing about intermittent fasting is that spontaneity comes back into your life and it is so much less stressful when you find yourself in a situation without food. -
Dear @knitty kitty, thanks so much for your response, it answers lots of old questions I had when I did have a deficiency and I will also send this to my husband. It is so strange that I am no longer vitamin D deficient, but still have many of these issues, I guess it will take time. My vertigo has gotten so out of hand that I went to the doctor, she...
