  1. Some imaging solution has it apparently, but not the one they gave me. Phew. Thanks
  2. I’m at the hospital now after having a huge seizure today. They won’t believe it is gluten. They also said gluten intervenously is ok for celiac. Pfff. My seizure happened the morning after I ate at a restaurant . I only ate fries and asked the cook about the frier. Could be a coincidence. I used to have seizures until 12 years ago and they stopped, un...
  3. I didn't know Bartfull and I am fairly new here, but I wanted to say that I am very inspired by her commitment to live life on her own terms and I respect her outlook, her choice and her attitude. It is just amazing. Sending you all good vibes and a huge huge hug.
  4. Your inner chef is right! amazing products! thanks for the details. I am drooling over the spices!!!! I bought all these items (in my photo) today at an xmas market in Lausanne, she also had jar scrapers. The cool thing is that she has small sizes of everything. great for carry on. I am curious though what use is a jar scraper. I cook, I almost never bake...
  5. Wonderful topic and the answers are great ! I am trying to put together the smallest/lightest travel kit possible. As suggested, I bought all the same color to make it easier. So far, I realise that I am missing a few paper plates, a small cutting board and paper. This is for carry on travel only. I am curious though if anyone has anything to add. Also...
  6. Hey vvicin02, I am so glad that your ferritin is better. Do you take supplements or is it just that you are absorbing better already? WOW! That's great! I am also a rookie, I understand those moments where you get discouraged. I am trying to find solutions. Having at least 1 or 2 small meals in my fridge at all times helps. When I eat, I serve myself...
  7. Hey AWOL ! trippy nightmare! So happy to hear you have less intolerances now. Amazing. Phew! Thanks for the hope. I feel much better everyday. Suddenly seems accelerated?! I can almost walk normally. Still in pain, but I am walking about 10 x faster than a few weeks ago. Something I am doing is working. I even had a cookie today (gluten-free of course...
  8. Studying while newly diagnosed is a challenge because at the beginning you are also studying your own disease. It is so much to learn, so please ask questions here and we'll answer. I was diagnosed weeks before my end of the year exam in anatomy and physiology. I agree with you, bring your own non processed food. Simple low fodmap for now and then add things...
  9. pikakegirl. Glad you are well surrounded, although you aren't in your nightmares...which is quite normal ? Interesting about the accuracy of the blood tests! My intolerances seemed to have come during my healing as well. Did you stay on the low fodmap or have you reintroduced anything? What a perfect name for that gene... MTHFR! Very good idea about...
  10. Hey Ennis_TX ! Thanks for your reply & helpful link! I am still learning. I'm glad your legume sensitivity went away since that pea protein seems to help you a lot. My apple, celery, soy, and milk allergies all showed up on a igE blood test. Some of the numbers were not very elevated, but I will see this with a new DR who is also a micronutritionist and...
  11. Hi Chris H, Hopefully you will be feeling better every day. I had and mri on my foot and lower leg, it showed neuromas, arthritis, plantar fasciitis and tendonitis. Proper inner soles helped a lot as did exercising & stretching my feet and legs, but it has taken months to be able to walk more than 10 minutes. I am curious if you are certain it is nerve...
  12. Hello friends, I had a thought today as I was about to do something I used to love and realised that it did not interest me anymore. I am not talking about depression, I definitely know how that feels. This is different. It is not a bad thing. I have a feeling my life will change a lot as soon as I am feeling up to it. It is like I was planted...
  13. Such a shame about this caterer who will not listen. You should not feel left out, but I would not risk eating the food she is representing. You should also not feel that you are bothering anyone. It is simply a lack of education about celiac disease, which has a terrible media representation. I remember hearing this story of a woman who was treated...
  14. Hello Everyone, For the past few weeks, I have had a recurring nightmare that I have Celiac Disease, thhen I wake up and realize that it is true. ? It is so strange. I am still a newbie I guess. Does this happen to anyone else? I have a question about soy, apples, milk and hazlenuts. I am newly allergic to all of those, I hear the milk allergy...
  15. davemill, OMG the poor dear! Thankfully your daughter has great parents. I am happy to hear you laugh about this now I am also glad your daughter was diagnosed early. Thanks for your story. If I don't laugh at some celiac related things I am afraid that I will become a curmudgeon ! It is such a frustrating disease to have, always explaining...
  16. Hey there! I went to a friends place that is super out of the way to make music, I am still healing and can barely walk and have a ton of body pain, but thought "who cares, lets jam" I was all proud to come armed with my lunch and while we ate outside I turned my head to look at the gorgeous fall leaves rustling in the sun. I turned back to eat my vegan...
  17. I am really sorry you have to wait. I am very glad you are gaining weight! I hope you have ways, like meditation or a punching bag, to deal with all this extra stress on your system. All my best! Keep us updated on how you are doing. Tons of peeps here are concerned.
  18. Hi Ennis, please go to the ER now and see what they can arrange for you. I am so sorry your health is in such a state because of how the system works. I hope you have good people around you. Is your crowdfunding still open ? If so maybe leave a link on this thread ? (not sure if you are allowed, if not send me the link) You have so many solutions...
  19. Hello Sergio, did you eat a lot of junk food before? sometimes we lose weight because now we have to think before we eat and plan ahead. I used to eat everything that was in front of me because I was always SOOOOOOO hungry. Going off beer made me drop not only a chin, but also a few inches off my waist. That said, please see your doctor to make sure...
  20. IS it your actual eyeballs or your eyelids. I have had swollen itchy wellies with flakes for years. I was hoping it would go away on a Low FODMAP gluten free while food diet, but seems worse. I find that a warm compress 4x a day helps soooo much. Any idea what moisturiser or oil o should use to rehydrate? I can’t seem to find anything that doesn’t irritate me....
  21. Yikes sorry that happened to you. i recently spoke to a colleague who lives in france and he also tried to rip out the tube, difference is...in france they only sedate you! I can't even imagine. Anyway about your PTSD, you might want to try EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing)
  22. hahahahaha skittles ? omg I would likely take off like a rocket I forgot those existed! Yes adequate nutrition is key, I am only eating food I prepare and trying to rotate my food too. I need another fridge!
  23. Interesting. Did anything else change in your diet kiselsk? Are you ingesting black strap molasses by any chance ?
  24. Hey Knitty kitty. Thanks! In going through your links and the comments, I found an excellent podcast about fermentation. I loved it ! Also it appears that there is a chapter in the Wahls protocol book that deals with veg diets. I will check that out I have tried to eat fish/seafood in the past and it changed nothing. (Although I didn’t k...
