hello, Hope you are all well, My doctor just told me I need to go on a low fodmap diet for a good while and then introduce foods slowly. I am vegan celiac and feel like I really need a meal plan at this point. I hear it is really good to rotate your food too. Does anyone have a great link to a video, book, site, app or a wonderful nutritionist...

Ennis, that sucks! Sorry to read that you aren't feeling well. I used to pass out from my pain gut pain, but have started taking cbd oil when I feel pain in my lower abdomen. It helps with those strong cramp type pains. I second what cyclinglady said, as soon as I stopped eating anything processed I felt better.

Lower right rib pain
healthysquirrel replied to Peter D.'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hey Peter! Sorry you have to gluten yourself on purpose, this sucks! Once you are finished these tests, you can start to be really on top of what you are eating and change your life for the better. Also take a look at possible stressors in your life and either react to them differently in a way that works for you or drop them from your life. -
Low Dose Immunotherapy
healthysquirrel replied to NightSky's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
hello, I am curious about immunotherapy, but not for myself, just as a concept and curious to see if it helps you. humus, yes I totally understand!!!! I can't eat store bought humus anymore, it just started when i went gluten free. BUT I but can eat it if I make it myself. I could not believe it, now I make a bit once in a while and its fine with... -
Hey there, I am a bit over 3 months in, until about a week and a half ago I was such a mess and on med leave for 2 months. I got way worse post diagnosis since I went off gluten. they sent me for more tests, allergy blood screening, colonoscopy, stool test etc. Still waiting. My digestion is MUCH better because I simply stopped eating and drinking anything...

hey I am so happy that many of you have healed. I have plantar faciitis, arthritis, tendonitis and a neuroma. I can barely walk, BUT i CAN bike everywhere. I am 3 months gluten-free. How long did it take you to see the difference, I am like 1desperateladysaved it seemed to get worse for now. Any tips?

I found the colonoscopy way easier than the endoscopy. yeah the prep isn't very practical, but i felt totally normal after and was able to work today no problem. The first thing the doc said to me was "are you a regular cocaine user?" strange huh? I never did it in my life (it would simply make me calm because i have adhd), but there is a link with using...

Lower right rib pain
healthysquirrel replied to Peter D.'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
knitty kitty had great advice! How are you feeling now? yes please try to avoid all processed foods and eat simply. I am also still healing and sometimes when I feel ok I think ok I can handle fun things like gluten-free falafel mix that is organic and have 4 ingredients and nope I was dead wrong. We will be able to add these things back in to our... -
Hi Frieze and Ennis_x, 3 days before they like to rule out anything fibrous that can hide lesions or anything that is hard to digest and that sticks to the walls of the colon. They were adamant about no fruit at all, even in juice. weirdos ? thanks for the boiling veggie tip! phew ok just eating that and rice will be fine for me, i will try to find...

Hello there, I'm a vegan prepping for a colonoscopy next week. Any ideas for meals to eat or drink the 3 days leading up? I am not allowed fruit and veg, nuts, vitamins, fortified cereals or anything non white. I understand why, I just need ideas for the diet because I will be returning to work and must prepare in advance. Its fine for me...

Shared desks and croissants
healthysquirrel replied to healthysquirrel's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
YES! Great idea Ennis_TX!!!! Cycling lady. I also am going through menopause during diagnosis etc. I may have written about this already, but I took a med school class recently and in late june I saw a slide of the villi in our intestines I said "i definitely do not have those" to a classmate and then fell asleep at my desk. A while later, I went to the... -
Shared desks and croissants
healthysquirrel replied to healthysquirrel's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I do all those things (aside from meat because i'm a veg), but had NO IDEA about pea Protein! Thanks so much ! Great that it is a powder and not in a capsule! I also had stomach upset from iron pills, but I found that iron orotates seem to work for me. I can't seem to take enough to compensate for my lack of iron right now that is lower than usual, so... -
Shared desks and croissants

Can I ask how many months your anemia took to resolve itself? I too have had it my entire life. I am excited to get better! I can't even imagine what I will be like with real energy. I have some today and I feel way more calm. I know that sounds odd, but I think when we don't have real energy we often live off of adrenaline or just having responsibilities... -
Hey everyone, I was wondering if there are any people on this forum who live in Swirtzerland? I see some old threads, but I was wondering if anyone is here now. Would love to meet up!

Shared desks and croissants
healthysquirrel replied to healthysquirrel's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hello Cyclinglady. I will see how it goes and also buy a brush to brush off the crumbs from the keyboards or turn them over and smash them, that wont take me long. Its gross, but it works. Good point about putting my hands in my mouth. I don't think I do it usually, but I do snack a lot and that is when it could be happening. I will now wash my... -
Shared desks and croissants
healthysquirrel replied to healthysquirrel's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hey Ennis_TX Good idea about the gloves, I'll get some to clean with. I would love to bring my own keyboard, but I would have to bring 3 separate keyboards and 3 mice and change desks 3x a day and they would get CCd by the desk anyway right? hmmmmmm. I am quite unsure about going in to such an environment while still feeling so ill. Especially... -
Hello everyone, I hope you are all feeling well. 3 months in and I am still crappy, zero energy and suddenly getting bad reactions from different foods (not gluten). Tons of muscle and joint pain. Physio 2x a week etc. I will be going back to work soon to see how it goes. I would love some logical advice. I change desks 3x a day, I cannot change...

Loved one works with malt
healthysquirrel replied to healthysquirrel's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
YAY for common sense! I honestly did not even think of brushing his hair out, good idea! They grind their malt, so there is an entire room full of malt powder. Up until a few months ago, i used to sleep on the malt bags in my own malt room and I was always so ill without knowing why. I also used to taste a ton of beer because I am a perfectionist :) Yeah... -

thanks Kareng, Hairnets are always a good idea! I used to brew and always wore my hair back. (thats before I cut it short because I lost so much of it ; ) There are solutions that will help and be practical for everyone in the end. When i used to brew I would take a shower immediately because I was so gross. hahaha. Of course we will make many errors...
