  1. Hello there. Hope everyone is well. My partner just got a job in a brewery and will start soon. I am scared that this will affect me. He has long hair and a beard. Fabulous gluten traps ;) any advice on what to do ? Maybe someone with coeliac should not live with someone who works in a super gluten environment? There is no shower at the brewery...
  2. Hilarious about the kambucha, i used to think it was rank as well, but then found a good local brand (urban kambucha, but it's swiss). Sorry you got glutened, I hear activated charcoal is a good thing for that, but I have not tried it and you must be careful that it doesn't interfere with other meds or renders your vitamins useless, i would ask the pharmacy...
  3. Wow, interesting! I know a man who moved his family to another greener area when his son developed asthma and his son is fine now. We just need to listen to what our bodies need. I loved brewing, but I would often fall asleep in the malt room, on the malt bags that were covered in dust involuntarily, right near the grinder. I would grind with a...
  4. Hi Ennis, thanks for your explanation. I'm really sorry to read about your symptoms though! That must be really difficult. I was very surprised both times I was glutened since the diet. The first time it lasted a week, my doctor said it was a bug and had nothing to do with celiac disease, so I believed her, then I clearly got xcontaminated the second...
  5. You are so right about the processed food, first off most of it is crap and secondly, I get too impatient reading tiny print anyway. It was so liberating to stop even trying and just buy fresh produce. I will buy a magnifying glass at some point. I do understand that 6 weeks is nothing. I was asking about the future. I thought it would get easier...
  6. Glad your villi are up and running cyclinglady! I think i was just thinking the future would be better, trying to find a silver lining. Interesting about Zonulin! thanks!
  7. I was just wondering if once i have the villi back, maybe the digestive symptoms would not be as bad because the small intestine will be less permeable. Thanks so much for your responses and welcome to the forum venusandsam I am quite new here as well
  8. Hello everyone! I hope you are all feeling well. I have been on a gluten-free diet for about 6 weeks or more. I have complete villous atrophy and lesions in my stomach and small intestine. When my intestines are better, will being glutened be less of a pain in the ass? Seriously, will the reaction be as bad in a year or so, or does it remain as dramatic...
  9. Hey Ennis, I really appreciate your answer and respect that you turned things around to work in a suitable environment for you ! Thats very inspiring. I share my brewery, so I will need to move. Too much contamination. I looked online and asked my doctor and sort of knew the answer, but hearing it from someone who has coeliac disease has driven...
  10. Hello fellow gluten-free peeps! I have recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease. I was a beer brewer and am wondering if it is dangerous for coeliacs to work with malts. Does the dust and the brewery environment gluten us even when careful ? I have not brewed since diagnosis and yes, I know I could brew gluten free beers, but I share the space, There...
  11. Thanks for your reply. I have been cooking for myself and bringing food everywhere i go I will cut soy, but that means cutting tempeh and gluten-free miso that are supposed to be good for healing the gut. Maybe those are ok since they are fermented ? I’m no longer running for the toilet, but I still go just as often. Like 5 to 6 times a day. Glamorous !...
  12. I hope you are all feeling better by now I am newly diagnosed and have been on a strict gluten free diet for 4 weeks. I was ok the first 4 weeks and now I've been running to the toilet for 5 days. I feel worse than ever, I am not sure what to do. I had no withdrawal symptoms at first and digestive issues were not part of my top signs or symptoms before....
